  • As a result of analyzing problems in field practice and its effects, the following conclusions can be obtained. Man students were more satisfied with their choice of this department than woman students and woman students recognized the importance of hospital practice although they felt the need of fire fighting station practice and man students felt the necessity of hospital practice, but they answered the fire fighting station practice was important. Departments of field practice are emergency and nurse departments in hospitals and emergency aid section in fire fighting stations. And it is found that field practice was performed well in relation to major subject. Areas of practice included emergency room, operation room and extensive cure unit and the experience of ambulance was more in fire fighting station than in hospital. Clinical guidance of professor was preferred to once a week and the students answered they felt satisfaction with practice through conference. Answer that field practice was helpful in understanding class was very high as 96.8% and its connection with employment was low as 12.8%. It is found that a proper timing of field practice was winter vacation for hospital practice after completing the second semester of the first year and summer vacation for fire fighting station practice after the first semester of the second year. The most difficult department in field practice was nurse department in hospital because 'respondents were practice students' and administrative department in fire fighting stations because 'they lacked recognition of paramedic'. In making practice diary, 'describing measure results' was difficult most and the respondents wanted to keep the diary in their custody.

  • The availability of thermal energy has been widely recognized recently, and the cascade usage of thermal energy from combustion has been encouraged. Within this framework, a 1-kW-class Stirling-engine.based cogeneration system has been proposed as a unit of a distributed energy system. The capacity has been designed to be adequate for domestic usage, which requires high compactness as well as low emissions and noise. To develop a highly efficient system satisfying these requirements, a premixed slot-type short-flame burner has been proposed, and a series of experiments has been performed to understand its combustion characteristics. Flame images have been captured to observe the dependence of the flame mode on the combustion load and air/fuel ratio. The exhaust gas has been sampled and analyzed to study the emission characteristics for each flame mode.

  • In this paper, we present real-time implementation of a R2MFC/DTMF (R2 Multi Frequency Combinations/Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) tone receiver/sender using a high performance DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and apply it to a carrier class VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) gateway system. The Receiver utilizes the Goertzel filter and the sender adopts the harmonic resonant filter. We describe, in detail, the techniques of multi-channel real-time implementation on a Texas Instruments TMS320C62x DSP such as effective PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) in/out by means of DMA (Direct Memory Access) and McBSP (Multi Channel Buffered Serial Port) and message communication via HPI (Host Port Interface), etc. From experimental results, we confirmed that the optimized code provided 780 channel capacity at 250㎒ C6202, and the our R2MFC/DTMF receiver/sender met ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication) specifications.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate middle school students’ understanding of ionic equation. Two hundreds and nineteen middle school students were participated in the study. After six class hours of learning ‘electrolyte and ion’ unit, instrument was implemented to evaluate students’ understanding of ionic process and ability to write ionic equation. We analyzed the influence of characteristics of ionic compounds on correct answer rate. In addition, knowledge state of students required for writing ionic equation was analyzed. The results were as follows: First, ionic compounds tested were categorized into six groups. The correct answer rate was different depending on the characteristics of each group. Second, knowledge state required for writing ionic equation was structured. Based on results some suggestion were made to develope effective learning strategy for understanding ionic equation.

  • For the instruction of units dealing with the conic section, the most important factor that we need to consider is the connections. In other words, the algebraic approach and the geometric approach should be instructed in parallel at the same time. In particular, for the students of low proficiency who are not good at algebraic operation, the geometric approach that employs visual representation, expressing the conic section's characteristic in a dynamic manner, is an important and effective method. For this, during this research, to suggest the importance of dynamic visual representation based on GeoGebra in teaching Quadratic Curve, we taught an experimental class that suggests the instruction method which maximizes the visual representation and analyzed changes in the representation of students by analyzing the part related to the unit of a parabola from units dealing with a conic section in the "Geometry and Vector" textbook and activity book.

  • A equivalent stiffness modeling has been performed for extracting the equivalent stiffness properties which are orthotropic elastic model from a large scale wind turbine rotor blade so that structure model can be constructed more simply for the three dimensional static aeroelastic analysis. In order to present the procedure of equivalent stiffness modeling, NREL 5MW class wind turbine rotor having the three stiffness information which are flapewise, edgewise and torsional stiffness was chosen. This method is based on applying unit moment at the tip of the blade as well as fixing all degree of freedom at the blade root and calculating the displacement from the load analysis to obtain the elastic modulus corresponding to equivalent stiffness referred to the NREL reports on blade divided into 5 sections respectively. In addition, one section was divided into 3 parts and the trend functions were used to make the equivalent stiffness model more correctly and quickly. Through the comparison of stiffness between the reference values and calculated values from equivalent stiffness model, the investigation of the accuracy on the stiffness values and the efficiency for constructing the model was conducted.

  • IGRINS (the Immersion GRating Infrared Spectrograph) is a high resolution infrared spectrograph which is being developed by a collaboration of the University of Texas, the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and Kyung Hee University. The wavelength calibration unit of IGRINS will be situated between the telescope flange and IGRINS dewar. It will include Th-Ar hallow cathode lamp, optical elements, and gas absorption cell for the case that requires precise calibration (e.g., radial velocity observation). The system will also use a tungsten halogen lamp in an integrating sphere as a blackbody source for the flat-field imaging. IGRINS will be placed initially on the McDonald 2.7m Harlan J. Smith telescope and later on 4-8m class telescopes. We present an overview of the plan for the wavelength calibration sources and of the development process for the optical and mechanical design of the IGRINS calibration system.

  • Suppose that n is a positive integer. For any real number $\alpha$($\beta$ resp.) with $\alpha$ < 1 ($\beta$ > 1 resp.), let $K^{(n)}(\alpha)$ ($K^{(n)}(\beta)$ resp.) be the class of analytic functions in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ with f(0) = f'(0) = $\cdots$ = $f^{(n-1)}(0)$ = $f^{(n)}(0)-1\;=\;0$, Re($\frac{zf^{n+1}(z)}{f^{(n)}(z)}+1$) > $\alpha$ (Re($\frac{zf^{n+1}(z)}{f^{(n)}(z)}+1$) < $\beta$ resp.) in $\mathbb{D}$, and for any ${\lambda}\;{\in}\;\bar{\mathbb{D}}$, let $K^{(n)}({\alpha},\;{\lambda})$ $K^{(n)}({\beta},\;{\lambda})$ resp.) denote a subclass of $K^{(n)}(\alpha)$ ($K^{(n)}(\beta)$ resp.) whose elements satisfy some condition about derivatives. For any fixed $z_0\;{\in}\;\mathbb{D}$, we shall determine the two regions of variability $V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\alpha})$, ($V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\beta})$ resp.) and $V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\alpha},\;{\lambda})$ ($V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\beta},\;{\lambda})$ resp.). Also we shall determine the extreme points of the families of analytic functions which satisfy $f(\mathbb{D})\;{\subset}\;V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\alpha})$ ($f(\mathbb{D})\;{\subset}\;V^{(n)}(z_0,\;{\beta})$ resp.) when f ranges over the classes $K^{(n)}(\alpha)$ ($K^{(n)(\beta)$ resp.) and $K^{(n)}({\alpha},\;{\lambda})$ ($K^{(n)}({\beta},\;{\lambda})$ resp.), respectively.

  • The syntax-directed translation using semantic actions is frequently used in construction of compiler for text programming languages. it is very useful for the language designers to develop compiler back-end using a syntax structure of a source programming language. Due to the lack of the integrated representation method for a parse tree node and modeling method of syntax structures, it is very hard to construct compiler using syntax-directed translation in visual languages. In this Paper, we propose a visual language compiler generation method for constructing a visual languages compiler automatically, using syntax-directed translation. Our method uses the Picture Layout Grammar as a underlying grammar formalism. This grammar allows our approach to generate parser efficiently u sing And-Or-Waiting Graph and encapsulating syntax definition as one unit. Unlike other systems, we suggest separating the specification and the generation of semantic actions. Because of this, it provides a very efficient method for modification.
