영화에 나타난 그리스 신화의 신들의 의상 연구 (Study on Costumes of Greek Mythology Gods in Films)

  • This research is to analyze costumes of Greek Mythology Gods in films using Morris' semiotics. In film "Clash of The Titans", Zeus' costume of shining gold armored body suit and long manteaux expressed the limitless sublime. The definite form contouring body shape of his costume also demonstrated classical beauty. Hades' costume of dark colored armor, long manteaux, and transformation via smoke also described the limitless sublime. The unbalanced and irregular shaped armor showed ugliness. In "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief", the armor and long manteaux of Zeus showed the limitless sublime. The beauty of his body and his sophisticated business wear indicated classical beauty. These features were also present in Poseidon's costume as well. The limitless sublime and ugliness are implied in Hades' look by portraying him as having a monster body with horns and wings, and his costume of punk look. In "Immortals", gods of Olympus wore clothing that was reminiscent of Egyptian times, which represented a time of strong royal authority, in order to expose the limitless sublime. Classical beauty was shown in the beauty of their body. Titans' costumes and look of non-human being were composed of black and red to present ugliness. The inherent meanings of Gods' costumes are death of god, patriarchy, and the good triumphing over the evil. The Greek gods are not held in the same reverence in the contemporary society. However mythology inspires lots of visual creations. The results help to accumulate a creative design database for fashion.

열린 BIM 생태계 조성을 위한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 BIM 서비스 환경의 사용량 측정 기술 및 법 규정 제안 (A Proposal of the Usage Metering Functions on Cloud Computing-Based Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the Law for the Open BIM Ecosystem)

  • As project opportunities for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry have grown more complex and larger, the utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies for three-dimensional (3D) design and simulation practices has been increasing significantly; the typical applications of the BIM technologies include clash detection and design alternative based on 3D planning, which have been expanded over to the technology of construction management in the AEC industry for virtual design and construction. As for now, commercial BIM software has been operated under a single-user environment, which is why initial costs for its introduction are very high. Cloud computing, one of the most promising next-generation Internet technologies, enables simple Internet devices to use services and resources provided with BIM software. Recently in Korea, studies to link between BIM and cloud computing technologies have been directed toward saving costs to build BIM-related infrastructure, and providing various BIM services for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study addressed development of the usage metering functions of BIM software under cloud computing architecture in order to archive and use BIM data and create an optimal revenue structure so that the BIM services may grow spontaneously, considering a demand for cloud resources. For the reason, we surveyed relevant cases, and then analyzed needs and requirements from AEC industry. Based on the relevant cases, customizing for cloud BIM and design for the development was performed. We also surveyed any related-law to support cloud computing-based BIM service. Finally, we proposed herein how to optimally design and develop the usage metering functions of cloud BIM software.

USP의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 독립제어 고속절환장치 (Isolation Control High Speed Transfer Switch for Upgrade Reliability of Uninterruptible Power Supply)

  • 본 논문은 대용량 더블컨버젼 방식 $30^{\sim}500[KVA]$ 무정전전원공급장치 UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply)의 고장발생유형과 출력정지현상의 원인을 살펴보고, 부하 측면에서 전원공급의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있는 고장 검출방식을 제안한다. 인버터 출력의 전원품질을 검출하여 이상으로 판단 시 바이패스 시키는 방식의 기존 UPS 제어방식의 경우, 만일 내부(전력변환소자, 컨트롤러, CPU)소손이 발생되는 경우에는 부하전원 공급이 중단되는 현상이 발생되었고 이를 실험파형과 장비 운용결과를 통하여 증명하였다. 본 논문은 이러한 사고의 경우에도 출력전원의 공급에는 문제가 없도록 하기 위하여 기존 UPS의 제어시스템과는 별도로 독립적으로 고장검출장치, 바이패스 제어장치, 3중전원공급장치를 구축한 상태에서, 고장검출위치를 최종출력스위치 전단으로 변경하고, 고장판단 기준값을 기존 UPS제어시스템과 충돌이 없도록 변경하고, 사고확산을 차단할 수 있는 장치를 하였다. 이 시스템을 통신전원공급용 UPS 242대에 적용한 결과 2006년 이후 2년간 서비스장애가 발생되지 않았다.

Dynamic PIV 기법을 이용한 커튼에어백 Vent Hole 고속유동 해석 (Dynamic PIV analysis of High-Speed Flow from Vent Holes of Fill-Hose in Curtain type Airbag)

  • Passenger safety is fundamental factor in automobile. Among much equipment for passenger safety, the air bag system is the most fundamental and effective device. Beside of the front air bag system which installed on most of all automobiles, a curtain-type air bag is increasingly adapted in deluxe cars fur protecting passengers from the danger of side clash. Curtain type airbag system consists of inflator housing, fill hose, curtain airbag. Inflator housing is a main part of the curtain-type air bag system for supplying high-pressure gases to deploy the air bag-curtain. Fill hose is a passageway to carry the gases from inflator housing to each part of curtain airbag. Therefore, it is very important to design the vent holes of fill hose for good performance of airbag deployment. But, the flow information from vent holes of fill hose is very limited. In this study, we measured instantaneous velocity fields of a high-speed flow ejecting from the vent holes of fill hose using a dynamic PIV system. From the velocity Held data measured at a high frame-rate, we evaluated the variation of the mass flow rate with time. From the instantaneous velocity fields of flow ejecting from the vent holes in the initial stage, we can see a flow pattern of wavy motion and fluctuation. The flow ejecting from the vent holes was found to have very high velocity fluctuations and the maximum velocity was about 480m/s at 4-vent hole region. From the mass flow rate with time, the accumulated flow of 4-vent hole has occupied about 70% of total flow rate.

영화에 나타난 번아웃 양상과 해결방식 연구: <꾸뻬씨의 행복여행>과 <잠깐만 회사 좀 관두고 올게>를 중심으로 (A Study on Burnout Aspects and Solutions in Movies: Focusing on and )

  • 최근 빈번히 사용되고 있는 '번아웃'은 치열한 경쟁 속에 사는 현대인들의 심리를 대변하는 대표적인 표현 중 하나다. 본 고에서는 직장인들의 힐링 영화로 손꼽히는 '꾸뻬씨의 행복여행'과 '잠깐만 회사 좀 관두고 올게' 두 편을 번아웃 관점에서 접근, 분석했다. 작품에서 나타난 번아웃의 증상은 무기력증, 짜증, 분노, 불면, 우울, 자살 충동 등이었으며, <꾸뻬씨..>의 경우 반복적인 상담업무에서 오는 가치 충돌이, <잠깐만..>의 경우 업무 과부하와 실적 압박, 동료 커뮤니티의 부재 등이 원인으로 작용하고 있었다. 이러한 번아웃 상태는 등장인물의 대사나 표정은 물론 다양한 사이즈의 부감쇼트와 낮은 조명, 주인공 앞쪽에 물건 배치 등을 통해 시각적으로 표현, 진단이 어려운 번아웃의 심리상태를 직관적으로 표현하고 있었다. 특히 번아웃의 진단 척도인 취미 생활이나 신체활동, 동료 커뮤니티의 유무 등이 번아웃에서 벗어나는데 도움이 된다는 것을 영화를 통해서도 확인할 수 있었다.

초서의 이야기하기 -바흐친의 개념을 통해 본 「서생의 이야기」 (Chaucer's Storytelling: The Clerk's Tale in Terms of Bakhtin's Concept)

  • M. M. Bakhtin's dialogic concept of multi-voiced discourse allows us to open up the text of The Clerk's Tale and to account for its radical heterogeneity. Once we recognize the multi-voiced character of The Clerk's Tale, then what was heretofore regarded as discontinuous or ignored can be seen as the clash of several different world-views. Such a conceptual framework gives an added depth and scope to such thematic subjects as sovereignty, the status of women, and rhetorical style. There are three different and antagonistic voices involved in the tale's narration. These voices project different viewpoints or world-views, and they consequently engage each other in a polemic debate. Their relationship with each other is discontinuous and dialectical rather than continuous and harmonious. The first voice is the Petrarchan voice of moral allegory, which is the voice of tradition, authority, and high seriousness. This voice of moral allegory regards the story of Griselda as an exemplum of spiritual constancy and virtuous suffering. The second voice is the Clerkly voice of pathos based on human experience and feeling. This voice is defined by the Clerk's asides and apostrophes interspersed in the narrative proper, which function to engage the Petrarchan voice in a polemical debate. The third voice is the voice of parody, nominally identified with Chaucer the poet, which is located in the second ending, including Envoy. Whereas the other two voices are earnest and serious, the voice of parody is irrelevant, playful and antagonistic to both the Petrarchan voice of moral allegory and the Clerkly voice of secular humility.

실코의 다양한 이야기들을 통해서 재현되는 현대 미국 원주민의 정체성 (The Identity of Contemporary Native Americans Represented by Various Stories of Leslie Marmon Silko)

  • In this paper, I will explore disparate voices embedded in the interactions of stories in which personal, cultural, historical, and mythical consciousness brings up diverse ideas about the experiences of Native Americans. The accommodation of differences and changes is clearly manifested through the healing ceremony of Tayo, which poses some practical questions: what could be the authentic tradition of Native Americans?; which direction should it be led to? As these questions suggest, Tayo needs to think over and work through the way that Native oral stories will enrich the signification of being Indian within multicultural U. S. society. In other words, Tayo should transfer the oppositional relationship between Anglo and Native American world into an interactive one to bring forth new meanings concerning their interactions. As a hybrid, Tayo begins to recognize that his fragmented consciousness could represent the pervasive but surmountable anxiety about the cultural clash between Native and White Americans. Going through the multiple layers of his stories, Tayo learns that Native Americans need to hold a balanced viewpoint firmly: this demonstrates that storytelling brings restoration and renewal to him. As a result of Betonie's healing ceremony and his intimate relationship with Ts'eh, Tayo comes to have a holistic comprehension about how all the living things are interconnected to one another. After acquiring this recognition, Tayo succeeds in his quest to get back Josiah's cattle and recovers his identity as a Laguna Pueblo Indian, still letting diverse voices, cultures, and stories flow into the process of storytelling. As the last scene in which the conversations among Tayo, Auntie, and Grandmother took place illustrates, Tayo has newly secured a position that will require him to create a new, alternative story, not just repeating previous stories.

윌리엄 블레이크와 지식의 네트워크 -시와 과학의 소통을 중심으로 (William Blake and the Network of Knowledge: Centering on the Communication of Poetry and Science)

  • Although his mythic poetry deals with the fall and resurrection of Albion as the origin of humankind, William Blake (1757-1827) simultaneously links it to the professionalization and unification of disciplinary knowledge itself. He particularly takes a great interest in the cross-referential relation of poetry to science. He argues for the communication of poetry and science on equal footing with each other without the former's prioritization over the latter, or vice versa. In his works Vala, or The Four Zoas (1797-1807) and Jerusalem: The Emanation of the Giant Albion (1804-1820), on which I focus in this essay, Blake's primary problematic is to display strong conflicts among different systems of knowledge. I approach this issue in light of the ideological clash of Newtonian thought, Romantic thought, and postmodern thought. In his poetry, Blake thematizes the very clashes of these different thought patterns. From the standpoint of Romantic thought, first of all, Blake problematizes Newtonian Enlightenment. He criticizes abstract universalization both in poetry and science, which Urizen, one of four Zoas, propagates. Protesting against Urizen's Newtonism, Los values "living form." Thus, Blake demonstrates, through this figure, that poetic imagination and scientific organicism are discursively communicative. Blake, however, also questions the network of Romantic science and Romantic poetry so as to suggest what current critics would call postmodern thought. Blakean postmodernism pursues the self-similarity of organic structure in science and poetry. Precisely, Blake sees polypus as a proliferation of organic body; he arranges four Zoas' self-repetitive stories in a non-linear way. Blake aspires for the conflicting coexistence of different thought patterns.

누벨 당스와 농당스에 나타난 상호문화주의(Interculturalism)의 의미와 해석 (A Meaning and Interpretation of Interculturalism in Nouvelle Danse and Non-Danse)

  • 본 연구는 상호문화주의에 대한 개념과 특성들을 살피면서 유럽의 컨템포러리 춤 흐름에 태동이 되는 누벨 당스(Nouvelle Danse)와 농당스(Non-Danse)에 나타난 상호문화적 성격들에서의 문화적 정체성에 대한 예술 표현들을 추출함으로써 공존과 인정의 발전 가능성을 밝히는 데에 목적이 있다. 이러한 춤의 논의와 구성은 누벨 당스와 농당스를 대표하는 각각의 안무가들의 작품들을 선정하여 상호문화주의적 시각으로 분석하여 안무가들의 예술표현들을 심도 있는 이해로 읽어내면서 연구의 다층적인 시간을 더하여 해석하고자 한다. 연구 방법으로는 누벨 당스와 농당스와 관련된 논문과 평문들, 인터뷰, 그리고 선행연구를 참고하였으며 상호문화주의와 관련된 국내외에 저서와 학위논문, 학술지 논문들을 중심으로 진행하였다. 그리하여 예술에 나타난 서로 다른 문화 간의 충돌과 만남 속 가치와 이해를 기반으로 하여 어떠한 창조적인 수용들이 이루어졌는지에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 춤과 상호문화주의는 자문화와 타문화간의 교류와 만남을 중시한다. 더불어 세계화에 중심에 있어서의 문화 간의 교류에 따른 문화적 정체성과 다양성에 대한 논점들 또한 지니고 있다는 점에서 춤과 상호문화주의의 연구를 통해 인문학적 관점에 따라 무용학에 기여할 수 있다는 가능성을 갖고 있다.

해상 객체 검출 고속 처리를 위한 영상 전처리 알고리즘 설계와 딥러닝 기반의 통합 시스템 (Design of Video Pre-processing Algorithm for High-speed Processing of Maritime Object Detection System and Deep Learning based Integrated System)

  • 해상 객체 인식은 자율운항선박(MASS)의 지능형 보조 시스템으로써, 선장이 육안으로 해상 주변의 충돌 위험성이 있는 부유물을 확인하던 정보를 컴퓨터를 통해 자동으로 인식하여 사람이 확인하는 방법과 유사한 정확도로 인지하는 방법을 말한다. 선박 주변의 물체를 인식하는 방법으로 기존에는 레이더나 소나와 같은 장치로부터 수집된 정보를 통해 확인하였지만, 인공지능의 기술이 발달하면서 선박 지능형 CCTV를 통해 운항 항로에 있는 다양한 부유물을 인식하는 것이 가능하다. 하지만, 자율 선박의 다양한 요구사항과 복잡성 때문에 영상 데이터의 처리속도가 느려지게 된다면 원활한 서비스 지원은 물론 안전성도 보장할 수 없게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 본 논문에서는 해상 객체를 검출하는 데 있어 영상 데이터의 연산량을 최소화하여 처리속도를 높이기 위한 연구를 진행하였다. 해상 객체 인식의 관심 영역을 확보하기 위해서는 일반적으로 수평선을 찾는데 기존 연구들은 허프 변환 알고리즘을 활용하지만 본 논문에서는 속도를 개선하기 위해 이진화 알고리즘을 최적화하여 실제 객체의 위치와 유사한 영역을 찾는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 제안하는 방법의 유용성을 증명하기 위해 딥러닝 CNN을 활용하여 해상 객체 인식 시스템을 구현함으로써 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하였다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 기존 방법의 인식 정확도를 유지하면서 약 4배 이상의 빠른 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.
