  • This paper introduced the appearance characteristics of the cab mask & telescopic handrail arms for the New Zealand EMU to be applied with inter-city transportation in 2010. The appearance characteristics are improvements of driver's sightline, implementation of safety zone of gangway plate by using the telescopic handrail arms, improvements of staff & female crew & ground crew's convenience. and also, during have looking the New Zealand EMU(Electric Multiple Unit), I hope that people who having the interesting of the cab mask design would be gotten help with basic knowledge.

  • Many researches have been tried to extract building models and created a 3D cyber city from LiDAR data. In this paper, the approach of extracting complex building by using airborne LiDAR data combined with airborne orthoimagery has been performed. The pseudo-building elevations were derived from modified discrete return LiDAR data. Based on information property of the pseudo-height, building features could be extracted. The results of this study indicated the improvement of building extraction.

  • For rational agricultural land use planning, it is quite necessary to get hold of land suitability precisely and to make decision on land use patterns accordingly. In the methodological viewpoint, objective and scientific evaluation techniques for land suitability classification should be supported for the systematic land use planning. As one of technical development approaches to rational land use planning, this study tried to frame a land suitability evaluation system for agricultural purposes. Evaluation unit is defined as a tract of land bounded by road, other land units and topographical features. And quantification theory was applied in the determination works of evaluation criteria. The administrative area of Namsa-myon(district), Yongin-si(city), Kyunggi-do(province) was selected for the case study. In order to check the feasibility of the evaluation system developed in the study, field check team, consisting of 2 government officers and 2 representative farmers, carried out evaluation works by observation on 148 sample land units, 10% of total 1,480 ones. Between estimated and observed results, there showed very good relationship of its multiple correlation coefficient, R=0.9467.

The Study of Face Concealing Culture of Istanbul Women (이스탄불여성의 폐면문화 연구)

  • This study will covered socio-cultural background and characteristic of the face-concealing culture of Istanbul which has liberal and westernized clothes culture for women even if it's an city in an Islamic country. This study depended on literatures related to religion, culture and costumes of the Ottoman Empire, especially costumic data on miniature of turkey, which was famous from 16th to 19th century. Since the 17th century, the Ottoman Empire has been gradually influenced by European countries but the change of women's clothes was not considerable. In the 18th century, women's clothes were influenced by foreign fashions. A veil to cover the face was gradually disappeared and traditional Turkish headdresses were replaced by European hats. Through face-concealing culture of Istanbul, we can see some socio-cultural features like Islamic religious character, one's social position, economic situation, westernization and renovation, beauty and completion of costume, duality for the reason of regional difference.

  • A current-controlled CMOS operational transconductance amplifier(OTA), whose transconductance is directly proportional to the DC bias current, has been developed for many electronic circuit applications. It features that its transconductance is insensitive to temperature unlike that of the bipolar OTA. This property makes it possible to use the proposed OTA as a basic buliding block in electrically variable circuit design. The SPICE simulation shows that the conversion sensitivity of the circuit is 44.62 mv /${\mu}A$ and the linearity error less than 0.54 % over a bias current range from 2 ${\mu}A$ to 120 ${\mu}A$ when the output is loaded with a 1${\Omega}$ resistor.

  • Soft ground has complex features in mechanic character of ground. Some problems about the settlement and transformation occur if the ground strength is comparatively weak and the depth is large. Therefore, we should consider physical and mechanical characters for safe, economical design and management. As the result of the course, we can compare them with those of field then solve the limitations which were came from the complex character of the soft ground. I have considered the soil's physical character (specific gravity of soil particles, moisture content, grain-size analysis etc) and mechanical character (direct shear test, consolidation, triaxial shear test etc), and then make out a linear interpolation by regression using the two, those and connection of the depth

  • The object of this study is to offer a basic reference for improving students' housing into a desirable living environments at small-sized local city. To do so, this study is to analyze residential choice elements and interior environment satisfaction of students around Samcheok national university at user's point. Trough the field survey and questionnaire about students' housing, the student's residential environment is almost composed of one room type of multifamily housing. But students' housing of this type is insufficient to the housing level which they demand. To obtain the real features as theirs housing, the development of the plan type to reflect the their actual demand is necessary. The results of this study can be applied to the actual design of hiring students' housing.

  • Rapid urbanization, resource depletion, and limited land are further increasing the need for skyscrapers in city centers; therefore, it is imperative to enhance tall building performance efficiency and energy-generative capability. Potential performance improvements can be explored using parametric multi-objective optimization, aided by evaluation tools, such as computational fluid dynamics and energy analysis software, to visualize and explore skyscrapers' multi-resource, multi-system generative potential. An optimization-centered, software-based design platform can potentially enable the simultaneous exploration of multiple strategies for the decreased consumption and large-scale production of multiple resources. Resource Generative Skyscrapers (RGS) are proposed as a possible solution to further explore and optimize the generative potentials of skyscrapers. RGS can be optimized with waste-energy-harvesting capabilities by capitalizing on passive features of integrated renewable systems. This paper describes various resource-generation technologies suitable for a synergetic integration within the RGS typology, and the software tools that can facilitate exploration of their optimal use.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경이 발전함에 따라 교통(u-Transport), 복지(u-Care), 문화(u-Fun), 환경(u-Green), 산업(u-Business), 행정(u-Government), 도시(u-City) 뿐만 아니라 사용자의 위치와 다양한 공간 정보를 제공하는 u-GIS가 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 핵심 요소 기술로 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존의 PC용 MMDBMS인 HS QLDB를 확장하여 모바일 장치에서 시공간 데이타를 효율적으로 처리 및 관리할 수 있는 내장형 시공간 DBMS를 설계 및 구현하였다. 내장형 시공간 DBMS는 OpenGIS "Simple Features Specification for SQL"에서 명시하는 공간 데이타 타입과 공간 연산자를 확장하여 시공간 데이타 타입과 시공간 연산자를 제공하며, 시공간 데이타 특성들 고려한 산술 연산 코딩 압축 기법을 제공하고, 모바일 저장 장치인 플래쉬 메모리에서 효율적인 시공간 데이타 검색을 위한 시공간 인덱스를 지원한다. 그리고, 내장형 시공간 DBMS와 U-GIS 서버 사이에서 시공간 데이타 수입/수출의 성능 향상을 위한 데이타 캐슁 기능과 DBMS의 안정성을 위한 백업/복구 기능을 지원한다.

  • Shimizu Corporation Tokyo Headquarters, one of the city's leading office buildings, features many pioneering technologies that contribute to a sustainable society through environmental stewardship and a sophisticated disaster management facility. In terms of structural engineering, a seismic isolation system incorporating reinforced concrete core walls and precast concrete perimeter frames create a robust structure in the event of a large earthquake. In addition to the seismic resistance of the structure, several pioneering construction methods and materials are adopted. This office building can serve as a basis for new design and construction approaches and methodologies to ensure safe and economical structures.
