  • Package strutures for RF circuit design are characterized and their equivalent circuitsare developed. The circuit parameters are extracted by using the commercial 3-dimensional field solver. The circuit models are verified by using the full-wave analysis in the RF region. It is demonstarted with the developed circuit models that the packages have substantial effects on the RF circuit performances.

  • This paper analyzes how to calculate the three phase short-circuit currents for ac electrical system and select the high & low voltage circuit breaker based on IEC60609, IEC60056 and IEC60947-2 standards. We proposed the multiplying factor considering system time constant and circuit breaker rating to select circuit breaker accurately.

  • In this paper, we propose a 4-wire type driving circuit for resistive touch panel which was manufactured at the lab. The circuit is designed by using the touch panel controller ADS7846 and AVR microcontroller board. The test result shows that the designed circuit can give and transmit the position information of touch panel to the computer.

  • A Hierarchical Circuit Extract Algotithm, which efficiently extract circuits from VLSI mask pattern information, is programmed. Quad-tree is used as a data structure which includes various CIF circuit elements and instances. This system is composed of CIF input routine, Quad-tree making routine, Transistor finding routine and Connection list making routine. This circuit extractor can extract circuit with hierarchical structure of circuit. This system is designed using YACC and LEX. By programming this algorithm with C language and adopting to various circuits, the effectiveness of this algorithm is showed.

  • Detailed analysis of the commutation circuit of the proposed wide-frequency current source inverter is given. In this inverter a spike-limit circuit and a precommutation circuit are used. The spike-limit circuit is intended to limit spike voltage which is arising during commutation time in a current source inverter, and the precommutation circuit to reuse the energy which flows from main inverter to spike-limit circuit during commutation time to aid commutation. Thus voltage stress of main thyristor is minimized. Since this inverter can be made up of thyristors for phase control, it has some advantage in high voltage and high power application.

  • This paper proposes a new circuit for capacitive sensing based on Dickson's charge pump. The proposed touch sensing circuit includes three stages of NMOS diodes and capacitors for charge transfer. The proposed circuit which has a simplified capacitive touch sensor model has been analyzed and simulated by Spectre using Magna EDMOS technology. Looking from the simulation results, the proposed circuit can effectively be used as a capacitive touch sensing circuit. Moreover, a simple structure can provide maximum flexibility for making a digitally-controlled touch sensor driver with lowpower operations.

  • This paper proposes an error amplifier circuit using OTA(Operational Transconductance Amplifier) which is the main constituent element in pulse width modulation circuit. The proposed OTA error amplifier circuit is featured by simple circuit configuration, excellent high frequency characteristics and bias current controlled output. Through the experiment of pulse width modulation circuit, the validity of the operation of the OTA error amplifier circuit is verified.

  • In this paper, the CMOS integrated circuit technique for implementing current-mode maximum and minimum operations scheme is described. The maximum and minimum operations are incorporated into the same scheme with parallel processing. Using this scheme as the basic unit, an analog three-input maximum, median, and minimum circuit is designed. The performance of the proposed circuit shows a very sharp transfer characteristic and high accuracy. The proposed circuit achieves a high-speed operation, which is suitable for real-time systems. The PSPICE simulation results demonstrating the characteristic of the proposed circuit are included.

Pixel Circuit with Threshold Voltage Compensation using a-IGZO TFT for AMOLED

  • A threshold voltage compensation pixel circuit was developed for active-matrix organic light emitting diodes (AMOLEDs) using amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide thin-film transistors (a-IGZO-TFTs). Oxide TFTs are n-channel TFTs; therefore, we developed a circuit for the n-channel TFT characteristics. The proposed pixel circuit was verified and proved by circuit analysis and circuit simulations. The proposed circuit was able to compensate for the threshold voltage variations of the drive TFT in AMOLEDs. The error rate of the OLED current for a threshold voltage change of 3 V was as low as 1.5%.

$SF_6$ 가스차단기의 아크저항에 관한 연구 (A Study On The Arc Resistance of $SF_6$ Gas Circuit Breaker)

  • [ $SF_6$ ] gas circuit breakers are widely used for short circuit current interruption in EHV(Extra High Voltage) or UHV(Ultra High Voltage) power systems. To develop $SF_6$ gas circuit breakers, the arc resistance value is necessary to compare experimental results to numerical ones. The arc resistance value can be obtained from a breaking test with a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker. The direct testing or synthetic testing facility is widely used to verify the breaking ability for $SF_6$ gas circuit breakers. We employed the simplified synthetic testing facility to test a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker prototype. The arc resistance characteristic was measured and calculated under the various experimental conditions. This arc resistance value can be used for verifying the numerical results from arc simulation in a circuit breakers.
