The studies were conducted to investigate the effect of Sinhyo-Taklee-San(STS), which is composed of Astragali Radix(AR), Lonicerae Flos(LF), Angelicae gigantis Radix(AGR) and Glycyrrhizae Radix(GR), on the proliferation of fibroblast cell(Balb/c 3T3). STS, GR and glycyrrhizin increased the proliferation of 3T3 cells. The 10% serum obtained from STS, AR, LF, AGR and GR treated mice also increased the proliferation of 3T3 cells markedly. GR, glycyrrhizin and glycyrrhetinic acid inhibited protein synthesis, but did not affect on DNA synthesis.

This paper deals with a method to Improve the input current waveform in a single phase Rectifier. This method is based on the sophisiticated utilization of the auxiliary circuit consisting of two SCRs and a interphase reacter and the condenser necessary for reducing the fluctuating voltage in output side. The basic theories of the proposed system is treated, and its validity is verified with simulation.

The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of baicalin on the differentiation of preadipocytes, 3T3-L1, and to characterize the action of baicalin that affect the responses of 3T3-L1 cells during differentiation. In various culture conditions, effects of baicalin and adrenoreceptor agonists such as phenylephrine(PE) and isoproterenol(IPR) on cell differentiation were examined. Also, effects of the drugs on differentiation, triglyceride(TG) contents, expression of insulin receptor, cAMP contents, the cytosolic $Ca^{2+}$ levels, and amount of calmodulin(CaM) were examined. The results suggest that baicalin has adrenergic receptor blocking activity during the process of differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells and that in the early stage of the adipose conversion, the effect of baicalin on the adipocyte differentiation is mediated by the regulation of insulin receptor expression, but by alterations of the cAMP and the calcium metabolism in the late stage. These results also suggest that the action of baicalin may be significant in the lipid metabolism, lipogenic and lipolytic pathways, of adipose cells.

Lysozyme is known as a key substance of the innate immunity and have antibacterial effect in the mucosal tissues, especially middle ear. Aquaporin (AQP) functions as water movement in the tissue and has been expected to be participated in the inflammatory responses. In the present study, we investigated to reveal association of lysozymes and AQPs in otitis media. The gene expression of lysozyme genes, homo sapiens lysozyme (hLYZ), homo sapiens lysozyme M (hLYZ M), and homo sapiens lysozyme G like-2 (hLYGH), and AQP genes (AQP 0 - AQP 12) were measured from postauricular skin, mastoid mucosa, inflamed mastoid mucosa, and middle ear mucosa. The hLYZ, hLYZ M and hLYGH gene were expressed in mastoid mucosa, inflamed mastoid mucosa, middle ear mucosa. Of AQP genes, all AQP gene except AQP 3 gene were expressed in the tissue of middle ear. Among them, AQP 4, AQP 8, AQP 9, AQP 10, AQP 11 and AQP 12 were highly expressed in the inflamed mastoid mucosa and normal mastoid mucosa (P<0.001). Interestingly, expression levels of AQP 4, AQP 9, and AQP 12 gene were significantly higher in the inflamed mastoid mucosa compared to normal middle ear mucosa (P<0.05). These results suggest that lysozyme and AQPs could be associated with inflammatory response in the middle ear.

Physicochemical and sensory characteristics of Yukwa(fried rice cookie) made by different processing condition were investigated to estabilish the optimum expansion of Yukwa. The expansion rate and crispness of Yukwa prepared by soaking waxy rice for 24 hours was satisfactory . Addition of 15% soy slurry gave better effect on increasing the expantion rate, crispiness and sensory preference than no addition of soy slurry . Yeast, Soju(distilled liquor) , Mackeali(rice wine, turbid) and Chunju(rice wine, clear) as expansion reagent were added to Yukwa prepration . Yeast and Mackeali among tested expansion reagent showed better expansion rate and lower hardness meausred by texturometer than Chunju. Yukwa added chungju showed more fine structure and lower expantion rate than others. Microwave puffed Yukwa was less expansion rate, but same level of crispiness and hardness compared with oil puffed. And no difference in sensory characteristics such as degree of crispiness and stickiness of microwave puffed and oil puffed.

These studies were conducted to investigate the effects of the extracts from Hoelen alba, Alismatis Rhizoma and Atractylodes Rhizoma on the proliferation and differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells. The results were summerized as follows: Hoelen alba and Alismatis Rhizoma extracts inhibited the proliferation of preadipose 3T3-L1 cells. In inductive differentiation, all three extracts inhibited the adipose conversion in 2 days of initial-culture, Atractylodes Rhizoma extract inhibited the adipose conversion in 5 days of final-culture and Hoelen alba and Alismatis Rhizoma inhibited adipose conversion in treatment of whole term of culture. In spontaneous differentiation, Atractylodes Rhizoma extract increased the adipose conversion in 2 days of initial-culture, Hoelen alba and Alismatis Rhizoma increased the adipose conversion in 5 days of final-culture, all three extracts increased adipose conversion in treatment of whole term of culture. The 10% serum of mice treated with each sample did not affect, but the 5% serum of them inhibited the proliferation of 3T3-L1 cells. In inductive differentiation, the 10% serum of them inhibited the adipose conversion in treatment of whole term of culture.

The purpose of this study is (1) to investigate the level of the consumer needs on a reform of administrative service and (2) to identify the influencing variables. For empirical analysis it used the data on 511 persons collected in the Chunju. The questionaire method was for data gathering. The major findings are as follows: (1) The level of consumer needs on a reform of administrative service is quite high and expecially the need on ' a government employee' is very high(2) It differed significantly according to age occupation attitude on adminstation attitude on consumerism and especially attitude on consumerism is most influencing variables.
