Various residential patterns, which can accommodate ever-changing modem lifestyles, are increasingly needed. On the residents' demand for flexible space, mote research should be conducted on the apartments built by the concept of flexible space. In this study, apartments of 40-60 pyeong in size built in the region of Seoul, between 1998 and 2007, are analyzed in terms of the flexible types and the unit plan composition. To reflect the changes in people's perception of residential quality-preference for a residence with a good view, over for the direction that a residence faces, more rooms are placed on the front bay. From the analyses of this study, flexible unit plans are classified into 6 types; and it was found that, as the size of apartments gets larger, the livingroom and the dinning room tend to be placed on the front bay. After grouping rooms with a similar function into the spatial zones of the master bedroom, children's room, the livingroom, and the dinning room, flexible types are analyzed in terms of the location of rooms. The results of this study will be able to contribute to establishing flexible housing culture that can accommodate the changing needs of residents.

In addition, this study was carried out by examining all continued information about their height and weight shown in the developmetal record for six years from the 1st to 6th year, and by checking their eating habits on the basis of questionnaires. The result of this study is summarized as follows. As the result of comparing the values of their height and weight grown for 6 years, it was shown that the height of the male group provided with school lunch is 27.8 cm while the male group without lunch is 27.1 cm. And the female group provided with school lunch indicated the growing value of 29.9 cm while the group without lunch did 28.4 cm. Then, it appeared that both male and female groups provided with school lunch show higher growing values of 0.7 cm, respectively, and 1.5 cm than these groups without lunch. Also, the weight of the group without lunch was 14.8 kg. Moreover, the weight of the female group provided with school lunch was 16.9 kg while the group without lunch was 17.2 kg. The Family Planning Project as a birthcontrol policy has been enthusiastically carried out by the government since 1962. But gradually it get less enthusiastic. Therefore, it is required to establish a more comprehensive and systematic plan and to carry out it thoroughly. And it is needless to say that people's knowledge about family planning, their attitudes and their practice should be concretly comprehended. Taking these things into consideration, this study surveys the general situation on family planning among 237 married women of less than 34 years in Guro 6-dong, one of target areas for Korea University Health Project from Sep. 17, 1984 to Oct. 13, 1984. The results are as follows; 1) Most of the subjects (62.8%) want 2 children and 13.6% want one child. But son-preference consciousness is remarkably revealed among them, which is thought to cause social inequality between man and woman. Therefore, it needs to change the traditional son-preference convention, for equality of all men regardless of sex. 2) The rate of induced abortion experience by person is 61.6% and the average frequency is 1.4. Almost all the induced abortion are carried out at clinics and hospitals during 2~3 months after conception. To prevent these unnecessary conception and induced abortion in view of maternal health, ethics and economics, proper contraceptive measures should be emphasized. 3) Temporary contraceptives should be sold more widely in the basis of free trade in order to practice the intensive and comprehensive family planning because the degree which Health Center has been utilized for buying temporary contraceptives is low. 4) There are serious problems such as the side effects and the lack of follow up care in permanent contraceptives. Those lower the practice rate of permanent contraception. Therefore it is necessary to improve the quality of permanent contraception practice and strengthen the follow-up care.

This study is to research the use and the demand of the elderly generation that pursue economic ability and active lifestyle. The composition of the meals were "homemade meals" 65.3%, "homemade & convenience meals" 26.7% overall. For the "never miss a meal" category, 70-74 years old was 48.3%, over 80 years old was 60.0%. The elderly under 70 years old showed a high frequency in the use of alternative meals (p < 0.05) and the elderly with higher education used the alternative meals more frequently (p < 0.01). The rice-cakes, bread, tuna cans, Korean side-dishes, beverages, meat, cup-noodles and seafood as alternative meals are in the order of most frequency. Also, 96.0%, 59.0% and 46.5% of the elderly had experience in using "Ready to eat (RTE)", "Ready to heat (RTH)" and "Ready to cook (RTC)". The oldest group surveyed, the elderly at the age of 80 years old and above showed lower preference for "completely cooked state" but showed highest results in the "half-cooked state". This shows the difference between people's perception and the behavior that showed high frequency of 96.0% in the experience with "RTE". This can be inferred that the elderly needs the development of convenience food that is moderately packaged according to the newer lifestyle where the elderly live independent from their children. Moreover, there is a higher demand in the healthy convenience food, which means that there is a need for development in the quality of the convenience food that will allow more faith in convenience food by the elderly.
As Korea has undergone rapid modernization, urbanization and industrialization, women's social participation has increased. Accordingly, child care facilities have shown continuous growth in numbers. However, according to research, child care facilities in Korea lag behind those in other nations in terms of quality. Given that, it seem urgent to enhance the quality of child care facilities and improve their indoor environment. Above all, overall atmosphere, colors and finishing materials are connected directly with educational effects as well as feelings and health of facility users. This study assesses the current state of child care facilities and preferences by focusing primarily on interior atmosphere, materials and colors. For This Study, 7 facilities were surveyed, and 46 subjects were participated for this study. The findings suggest that "pretty" style is preferred to "natural" style. As regards flooring material, wood floor is preferred. It is recommended to lay pastel colored carpet or PVC flooring material to the wood floor. As for wall, it is desirable to divide the wall spaces by adding wood and painting to simple wallpapers. In case of the ceiling noise absorptive material is recommended to use instead of wallpapers. For the doors, it is desirable to use contrasting materials and colors given accessibility for children. In the meantime, rather than strong primary colors, soft color or pastel colors are desirable for furniture. This study has limitations because of insufficiency of case study samples. However, it is significant in that the study results may be used as primary source of information to improve the environment of child care facilities.
