본 연구에서는 효과적인 어린이도서관 웹사이트를 설계하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 31개의 현행 국내 어린이도서관 각 웹사이트의 메뉴를 통해 컨텐츠 구성, 구조 및 레이블을 기준으로 분석하였다. 먼저 메뉴를 통해 정보내용에 따른 컨텐츠 구성요소를 15개의 항목으로 분석하였으며 컨텐츠 구조 및 레이블 분석대상을 이용자의 정보이용 판단에 일차적으로 중요한 역할을 하는 메인메뉴와 1차 서브메뉴로 한정하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 효율적인 어린이도서관 웹사이트를 설계하기 위해서는 무엇보다 우선적으로 어린이도서관의 목적과 기능에 준하여 컨텐츠를 구성하는 것이 필요한 것으로 나타났으며 또한 구성된 컨텐츠는 적절한 구조와 표준화된 레이블을 통해 제공해야 해야 할 필요성이 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

어린이 서비스의 전문성 확보를 위한 체계적이고 실질적인 교육을 위하여 어린이전문사서의 교육과정 모형을 개발하였다. 문헌연구 및 이론 분석, 설문조사, 문헌정보학과 교과과정 분석 결과에 기초한 어린이전문사서 교육과정 모형은 어린이사서, 어린이, 자료, 서비스, 운영 및 관리등 5개 영역으로 구분하였다. 교육과정은 '교양과정'과 '계속전문과정'으로 구분하여 관련 교과목을 개설하고, 교양과정은 총 90시간, 계속전문과정은 총 165시간으로 편성하였다. 교과목의 특성에 따라 일부 교과목은 이론수업과 실행 수업을 병행할 수 있도록 학점을 분리하여 구성하였다. 교육방법과 기간은 상시 개설되는 온라인 강좌와 특정 집중교육 기간 동안 이루어지는 오프라인 수업이 병행되는 통합형으로 제안되었다.

Currently, there is no library only for children in Korea, but as people realized that reading education was important, public libraries have started making space for children. However, most of spaces in public library were designed regardless of physical development and behavior. Therefore it was even worse for children to use library. Planning must be concerned about indoor surroundings that satisfy children's psychological desire and characteristic. Consequently, this study is going to have a thorough grasp of the problems of children library, and present organized information which fits their reading environment and human technology.

This study is including the independent project, "building children's library of the town" that is conducted by a local resident. The study object is the contents of the "design workshop for library planning" and the general process during one year since the opening. This study is delivering "information of children's library" through the work-shop and is conducting the role of a professional space planner by measuring the blueprint. Thus, the study could be conducted with synthetic viewpoint on each library. The followings are the results from the study. First, there were various space operations and a variety of programs in the case library that is independently managed. This is directing to "the constructive and active space usage" by the users and finally results in positive circulation. Secondly, there is a change through the process of execution and operation in the library construction plan. There are needs for the flexible space expansion and adjustment, modifiable furniture layout and design and various keeping areas because there is on-going tendency of corresponding space change. The third, the author could draw more practicable consideration points for space planning by looking at the trend of space change in Transactionist viewpoint. Thus, this study is very meaningful in terms of planning of sustainable public areas.

The purpose of this study is to examine how the floor heating system is affecting to users in childeren's libraries. This study included the method that extracts the affordance of the floor heating system, after surveyed using behavior in children's libraries and referred to J. J. Gibson's affordance and surface concepts. As the positive affordance, it was grasped that the floor heating system promotes social relationships and affords various surfaces for library using, but also as the negative affordance, that hinders users in the public usings and the behaviors for reference and using. The behaviors of these various characters can be regarded as life behaviors resulted from the sitting life style and the natural using behavior can give to children emotional rest and autonomous reading experience. For the function as the children's library, the learning of sociality in the public building and the various reading space, the space planning of children's library should be done after the positive and negative affordances extracted from this study are reflected. The guidelines for space planning are summarized as the followings: the layout of book furniture, the shoe chest and the space around that, the furniture hight and children's eye level, and the practical using of the table for sitting life style.

본 연구는 공공도서관 어린이사서의 전문성 강화를 위한 계속교육의 효과성 및 문제점을 파악함으로써 공공도서관의 어린이서비스가 보다 체계적이고 실용적으로 제공될 수 있는 계속교육의 활성화 방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 국내외 공공도서관의 어린이서비스 및 사서교육과 관련된 연구문헌조사를 하였고, 국내 어린이 전문도서관 중 하나인 K도서관의 계속교육과정에 참여한 사서를 대상으로 2007년 7월 설문조사를 실시하였다. 1년 후인 2008년 10월 계속교육과정 참가자를 대상으로 전화 및 이메일 인터뷰를 실시함으로써 어린이사서를 위한 계속교육의 효과성 및 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과 어린이사서들은 일회성이 아닌 지속적인 실무교육 그리고 현장에 적용할 수 있는 실습위주의 실용적인 교육을 원하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 업무의 전문성 및 어린이실의 인력부족 등이 현재 공공도서관 어린이서비스의 주요 문제로 제기되었다.

어린이자료 출판량의 급격한 증가에 따라 전문서평지가 갖는 선정도구로써의 역할은 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 외국의 어린이자료와 관련된 전문서평지를 분석함으로써 국내 어린이자료 전문서평지 개발에 기본적인 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 연구방법은 사례연구로써 이 분야에서 널리 알려진 국외 어린이자료 전문서평지 4개와 국내의 어린이자료에 대한 서평을 제공하는 도서관기관지 1개를 선정하여 조사 분석하였다. 연구결과에서는 구체적인 전문서평지의 구성요소와 기본틀을 관련 연구자 및 실무자들에게 제공하고자 하였다.

The library means to children a place where they find information necessary for them among a variety of knowledge and information to address their intellectual curiosity, which makes their lives wise and mature. There are not enough research materials understanding children's cognitive systems and behaviors in studies of a children's library with this necessity. This study divided and analyzed the behaviors of children, who were users into three types of reading in terms of information processing. First, it observed the types of reading depending on the stage of their cognitive development; Second, it analyzed the patterns of their behaviors through plays; and lastly, it presented the phases of their behaviors depending on the degree of an assistant's intervention. As a result of the study, the sensory system used and the space preferred differed depending on the stage of their cognition; there were differences in the patterns of their behaviors in each age group depending on the type of play; and there were differences in the children's ability of information processing depending on the assistant's ability. It is anticipated that there will be improvements of children's reading ability at the reading room in a better environment if the three types are considered in terms of information processing.

이 연구의 목적은 어린이도서관의 경제적 가치와 영향요인을 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 6개 어린이도서관의 이용자 중 부모를 대상으로 총 614부의 자료를 수집하였다. 개인당 월 이용료를 지불수단으로 채택하여 조건부가치측정법으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지불의사금액(WTP)은 1인당 월 평균 9,243원으로 추정되었다. 둘째, 지불의사금액에 영향을 미치는 요인은 이용빈도, 만족도, 자녀수, 성별, 나이, 소득 등으로 나타났다. 셋째, 요인별 영향력은 성별을 제외한 나머지 요인 모두 단위가 하나씩 증가할수록 이용빈도(1.140), 만족도(1.335), 자녀수(1.417), 나이(1.124), 소득(2.426) 등으로 지불의사확률이 높았다. 반면에 성별에서는 여성이 남성에 비해 0.364만큼 지불의사확률이 낮았다. 이 연구의 시사점은 현재까지 잘 알려지지 않았던 어린이도서관의 경제적 가치에 대해 실제 이용자를 직접 면담하여 구체적인 금액으로 제시한 점이라고 할 수 있다.

전통적으로 도서관의 역할은 자료보존기능과 자료제공기능이 강조되어 왔다. 그러나 현대사회에서 공공도서관의 역할은 학습의 장으로서 그들의 문화적 교육적 활동을 지원하는 소프트웨어적 기능이 강조되고 있다. 현대 산업사회에서는 일생을 통하여 다양한 형태의 비형식적 학습이 필요하며 그 기능에 대한 도서관의 비중은 커지고 있다. 본 연구의 관찰대상이 된 미국 공공도서관의 특징은 아동에 대한 다양한 교육프로그램을 통한 교육적 역할이었다. 이들 공공도서관은 아동교육의 주체자로서 프로그램을 개발하고 아동교육의 장으로서 스스로 주도해가고 있었다. 앞으로 공공도서관은 교육의 장으로서 지역사회와 일체감 있는 공동체기능이 더욱 강조되어져야 한다.
