This study analyzed the effects of dramatic play using Economic-fairy tales on young children's basic- economic understanding and the consumer behavior. The participants in this study were 42 young children who attended a kindergarten in G city. The mean age of participants was 70 months. The experimental group participated in 'Dramatic play using Economic-fairy tales' while the control group participated in a 'Discussion activity using Economic-fairy tales'. The experiment used 'The Basic-Economic Concept Test' and 'The Consumer Behavior Test' in the collection of data and T-test was used to statistically analyze the data. Significant differences were found between the experimental group and comparison group in both the post-test score of Basic-Economic Understanding and of Consumer Behavior NOTE. In conclusion, the results of this study suggested that the technique of dramatic play using Economic-fairy tales which was developed in this study are probably effective in developing young children's basic-economic understanding and consumer behavior.
The purpose of this study was to examine if mothers and their children used different interaction strategies depending on the interacting contexts. Sixty-five mothers and their children were observed while they interacted with each other in two contexts, that is, a free play context and a joint problem solving context. The result of this study showed that first, the mothers' strategies and their children's strategies were closely related. When the mothers used positive strategies, their children also responded with positive strategies. In contrast, when the mothers used negative strategies, their children also tended to use negative strategies. Second, the contexts which the mothers and their children interacted affected the strategies that the mothers and their children used. The mothers and the children were more likely to use positive strategies in the context of free play than in the context of the joint problem solving. This result points out the importance of free play as the context of producing a positive atmosphere where the mothers and their children interacted positively and had a good time. Suggestions for further study and implications for parents were provided.
The purpose of this study is to elucidate how two young children understand force in rough-and-tumble play. For this purpose, a form of microanalysis(Forman, 2006) was used. They regarded black as the strongest color due to their daily experiences. They assumed that a structure made of black Lego-color-bricks would be strongest and made an experiment of beating it against blocks of other colors. Such repetitive behavior ultimately led them to realize that color had no correlation with strength. They also understood mechanical energy by which a boy's pushing power moves against an object. They tried to strike a bigger or protruding structure and understood that parts might be broken more easily by striking. This experience enabled the boys to realize the principle of resistance. That is to say, in the process of rough-and-tumble play, their misconceptions were gradually removed and they obtained scientific knowledge, including understanding of mechanical energy and the principle of resistance. This study found that two young children constructed knowledge together through the process of tool making and in contending for victory in rough-and-tumble play.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test a KPAAT(Korean Parent As a Teacher Test) and provide a basic data to develop parent education program. Methods: This is a secondary analysis study using 103 preschool mothers who were chosen from 2 kindergarten and child care center located at Kyounki-Do. Results: 1) Subjects' child-rearing attitude was above average at the point of $2.86({\pm}\;.20)$. 2) 16 sub-dimension(response to question, permissive attitude of play, control, control of play, expectation about child, understanding about learning, support of learning, encouragement of thinking, provision of imaginary play opportunities, support of play, encouragement of accomplishment motivation, propriety of child-rearing, affectional support, fixed idea, confidence about education, limitation) and 6 factors(response to question, permission of play, control & limitation, evaluation & support about child, encouragement of academic accomplishment, facilitation of the development of creativity) were above 2.50 except ($2.24{\pm}\;.29$) sub-dimension. 3) There was no significant difference statistically according to subjects' general characteristics. Conclusion: From this study, KPAAT can be utilized later childhood period. And nurses need to help mothers to have sound child rearing attitude.

Childhood psychic trauma appears to be a crucial factor in the development of serious disorders both in childhood and in adulthood. Traumatized children show strong tendency to revisualize or re-feel a traumatic events. Play and behavioral reenactments are frequent manifestations of both the single blow and the long-standing traumas in childhood. Those children who suffer the results of single, intense terror appear to exhibit detailed memory, retrospective reworkings and misperceptions. In long-standing or repetitive trauma, children would show psychic numbing, self-hypnosis, dissociation and rage. Child's brain is undergoing critical and sensitive periods of differentiation. During this time, developing central nervous system is exquisitely sensitive to stress. Stressor-activated neurotransmitters and hormones can play major roles in neurogenesis, migration, synaptogenesis, and neurochemical differentiation. Internal opiate system operates in some trauma and causes the victim to fail to respond, to avoid, to shut off feelings. Evidence is also accumulating in traumatology that dysfuntion of locus coeruleus and ventral tegmental neucleus system leads to catecholamine receptors hypersensitivity. This change result in hypervigilance, increased startle, affective lability, and increased autonomic nervous system hyperreactivity. Another site of action of trauma on the brain is hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. Individuals with PTSD do not have enough cortisol to halt the alarm reaction. When children are exposed to long-standing extreme events, massive attempts to protect the psyche and to preserve the self are put into gear. These developmental traumas mobilize various kinds of defense mechanisms. Massive denial, dissociation, self anesthesia, identification with aggressor and aggression turned against the self often lead to profound character changes in the youngsters.
The purpose of this study was to investigate preschoolers' entry behaviors into a play group and the responses of the play group in relation to the structural characteristics of the group in a natural situation. The entry behaviors of 43 preschoolers and the responses of the play group were time-sampled. In addition the structural characteristics, including size and sex composition of the play group, and existence of a friend in the group, were checked. The following results were obtained. (1) The subjects used frequently participating behavior and wandering behavior among their entry behaviors. The wandering behavior increased and the participating behavior decreased as the size of the play group increased. Also, the subjects used wandering behaviors in the mixed group more than in the same-sex group or opposite-sex group. There was no difference in the entry behaviors according to the existence of a friend in the group. (2) The play group ignored 56% of the entry behaviors, and accepted 38% of them. The positive response of the group increased with decreasing size of the play group, whereas the entry bids were increasingly ignored as the size of the group increased. The mixed group ignored the entry bids more than the same-sex or opposite-sex group did. Also, in the presence of a friend in the group, the play group responded more positively than the group with no friend did.

Despite evidence that early childhood teachers play a critical role in guiding children through their child assessment, most beginning teachers in the survival stage face the greatest difficulties in this area. Using the intentional and purposeful tools of action research, this collaborative action study supports a beginning teacher in reflecting upon her perceptions of the 'child assessment' of young children and devising and evaluating good guidance practices. During the course of the study, the participating teacher became engaged in more reflective teaching which prompted her to perceive the "child assessment" of the children from different perspectives. As her understanding of the importance of making her curriculum and classroom climate more engaging and meaningful deepened and she reconceptualized her notion of child assessment, the teacher witnessed positive changes in her students' behaviors which, in turn, increased her sense of efficacy. These very positive, empowering results are strong recommendation for using collaborative action research especially in the novice years of teaching for it provides the teacher with a life-long transformative tool for professional development.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore about 2-year-old infants' attachment security to a child care teacher and peer play process through a case study. For this purpose, the attachment security was assessed with attachment Q-set to 2-year-old five infants at a day care center in Seoul. Participants of this study are four infants included two infants attached securely to their child care teacher and two infants attached insecurely to their child care teacher. Methods: Participant observation was conducted from April 12 to July 19 in 2018 through 36 observations in free play activities. The Data collected from the transcriptions of video shoots and teachers' interviews, child care plans, and reflexive journal was analyzed and interpreted. Results: The main results of the research were as follows: The beginning of peer play, when infants invited their peers to play, secure attachment infants selected suitable play partners and asked for a specific play behaviors. However, insecure attachment infants invited unsuitable play partners and asked uncertainly play actions to peers. In addition, when infants entered in-progress play, secure attachment infants understood the context of play but insecure attachment infants did not understand the context of play. In the progress of peer play, secure attachment infants cooperated with peers, shared play objects, but insecure attachment infants did not cooperate complementally with peers and express only their opinions. As well, insecure attachment infants could not play harmoniously without child care teacher's interventions. In the end of the peer play, secure attachment infants finished in collaboration with peers but insecure attachment infants failed to finish with the peers and was turned into play with the child care teacher because of peer conflict. Conclusion/Implications: This study has implications for basic resources to think about the role of child care teachers by helping them understand about the relation 2-year-old infants' attachment security to them and peer play process.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the recognition and qualities of early childhood coding education in childcare center teachers. Methods: 158 childcare center teachers responded to 56 questions on a questionnaire extracted and revised from previous research. Frequency analysis and one-way ANOVA were applied for the data analysis. Results: Many teachers agreed that the software education policy was timely appropriate. Most of them needed the education in order to improve children's creativity and problem solving ability, and answered that it is appropriate to start the education at age 5. Most of them recognized that small group and free choice activities, play activities linked with daily life topics and coding programs by the childcare center teachers were desirable as educational methods. Provision of educational HW/SW environment was a relatively important element for effective implementation of the education. The coding educational qualities perceived by the teachers were not high, and were related to the age of the children they were in charge of and their computer literacy. Conclusion/Implications: The recognition of childcare center teachers was relatively positive, but it is necessary to educate the teachers to improve their recognition and qualities of the education in consideration of teachers' variables.
