Buyer's Evaluation and Emotional Experience Analysis on Digital Products by Using the Content Analysis of On-line Reviews (온라인 사용후기 내용분석을 통한 디지털 제품에 대한 구매자의 평가와 감성체험 분석)

  • This study intends to provide foundational data for enhancing the welfare of customers purchasing digital products through analyzing the notes from written on-line reviews. The data used for the analysis are 6,342 on-line reviews for cell phones and digital cameras released from November, 2007 until April, 2008, which was posted on Naver Knowledge Shopping from November, 2007 until June, 2008. Through the on-line reviews, this article analyzed the evaluations on the digital products' hardware, software, design, service, price, and other criteria and the customers' emotional experience in the process of purchase, use, and possession. According to the results of the analysis, negative evaluation and emotional experience were originated from the company's information provision methods and purchase process. In addition, insufficient information searches in the process of online purchases, consumers' low right consciousness, and impolite on-line reviews were also problematic. Customers' evaluations and emotional experiences on digital products were conducted in a complex way. Based on that, this research makes suggestions in the company's marketing, customer education, and theoretical aspect.

A Proposal on the after-school child care programs for children of dual-earner couples (맞벌이 부부자녀를 위한 방과후 아동지도 프로그램 제안 연구)

  • The major purpose of this study is to investigate the actual condition of elementary school, nursery school, social welfare facilities providing after-school child care programs and to suggest new after-school program which is focused on social and emotional development for children of dual-earner couples. The cases of current after-school programs in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, it was showed Hat elementary school' child care programs after school were designed for speciality-aptitude education during 3-4 hours. Second, nursery school's programs were showed to instruct children in homework and make up learning and were operating until late evening. But the nursery school fee is more expensive than the other facilities. Third, social welfare facilities have a variety of program than elementary school and nursery school. But the program still consist of homework, supplementary lessons, speciality education etc. These facilities have too much students, compared to the teachers

Improving the Linkage System between the Police and Social Welfare Agencies for Effective Response to Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in South Korea

  • This study aims to explore improvement measures for the linkage system between the police and social welfare agencies in responding to domestic violence and child abuse issues in South Korea by comparing and analyzing the current systems in South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Despite the legal and institutional foundations for victim protection and perpetrator correction in each country, the effectiveness of actual cooperation faces several limitations. In South Korea, the level of cooperation is insufficient due to the lack of information sharing, role conflicts, and ambiguity of cooperation procedures. The United States and the United Kingdom operate more systematic cooperation programs, showing notable achievements in mental health crisis intervention and domestic violence response. To improve the linkage system in South Korea, this study proposes the following measures: (1) developing a clear cooperation protocol, (2) conducting regular education and training programs, (3) establishing an integrated information system, and (4) strengthening the victim-centered approach. Implementing these measures will contribute to more effective responses to domestic violence and child abuse issues, ultimately leading to a healthier and safer society by reducing social costs through victim protection and perpetrator correction.

A Study on the Development of Korean Child Welfare between 1950s and 1970s in the Light of Children's Light - Based on the Perspective of Social History - (『동광』에 비친 1950-70년대 한국 아동복지의 전개 - 사회사 관점 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to figure out the development of Korean child welfare between 1950s and 1970s in the light of Children's Light as the oldest professional journal of social welfare in Korea. This journal had been published by CCF Superintendent Korea Conference from 1957. Particularly, this study has been conducted through the social historical perspective, and the collected data was analysed by three periods, institution-centered care era(1957-1961), home-centered care era(1962-1969), and expanded services era(1970-1979). Finally, the resultant themes are as follows: firstly, orphans' forster under social prejudice, social work inclined to Christianity, and institution-centered social casework based on faith; secondly, development of systematization on the whole social welfare, rising of social work professionalism, tasks for orphans and workers in orphanages, and expectations on the integration of practice; and thirdly, strengthening of children's education and health in the institution, questioning on deinstitutionalization, preparation against withdrawal of foreign aid agencies, and the government's passive correspondence. Unfortunately, this study limits to reveal the children's services by non-Christian agencies because of the data based on the services by Christian agencies.

  • The model of family decision-making in child protection has been widely discussed and adopted in many countries. The purpose of this study was to introduce the model and, then, investigate whether this process is applicable in child care and protection services in Korea. The main goal in the study has been to explore the philosophical and practical foundations of the family involvement approach in decision-making and describe the international applications of the model. Family group conferencing, originally developed and enacted in New Zealand, has been critically examined. The potential contributions of the study may include seeking a more effective intervention for child protection through determining whether the model is appropriate or desirable in issues of philosophy, practice and policy within the Korean culture.

A qualitative study on the experiences of community child center workers to deal with the mental health of children and adolescents (지역아동센터 종사자의 아동청소년정신건강 문제 대처경험에 관한 질적 연구)

  • This study aimed to explore the experiences of community child center workers about how they have dealt with the mental health of children and adolescents who use such centers. For this study, we used a sample of ten community child center workers, who were divided into two groups and who participated in four focus group interviews. The results revealed four themes and twelve sub-themes: "the reality of facing children's mental health issues," "dealing with children's mental health issues and limitations," "know-hows accumulated from experiences and visible changes," and "remaining tasks--the workers who cannot give all." Based on the results the implications of promoting the mental health of children at community child centers were discussed.

The Effect of School Parents ′ Parenting Stress on the Child Abuse Awareness : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Self-esteem (학부모의 양육스트레스가 아동학대인식에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to analyse the relationship between the parenting stress and the awareness of school parents' child abuse. This study also examined the mediating effect of school parents' self-esteem between the parenting stress and the awareness of child abuse. Data were collected from 389 school parents residing A city of Gyeonggi-do. The results of analysing as follows : 1) the variable of the parenting stress of school parents had negative statistic association with the awareness of child abuse. 2) the self-esteem of school parents was found to mediate between the parenting stress and the awareness of child abuse. Based on these study results, several suggestions were made to improve the awareness of school parents' child abuse in terms of the reduction of their parenting stress and the enhancement of their self-esteem. This study has the significance of the convergence approach in terms of pedagogy, psychology, social welfare.

Parental Authorities Perceived by Children of Elementary and Middle School (초.중학교 아동이 지각하는 부모의 권위)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure perceiving extent on father and mother's authority - domain perceived by child and the some materials for bringing up authority - domain in according to the sex and development level of child. The study subjects were children of 3rd elementary schools and 3rd middle schools at Cheong - ju city Chungcheongbuk - do and duration for investigation was from Sept. 24, '97 to Sept. 28, '97. The measuring sample was "Parents' Authority Index" by Kim, Kyeong - hee(1990). The Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t - test and ANOVA using the SPSSWIN program. The conclusion of this study were as follows; 1. The perceptive extent regarding parents' authorities has shown very voluntary differences in identity authority. It has shown voluntary differences ligitimacy authority and competency authority as well. 2. In the father's authority - domain based on the child's sex, girl group recognized higher than boy group for the ligitmacy authority as a elementary school students. 3. In the father's authority - domain aspect based on child's developing level, for the ligitmacy authority boy group showed most voluntary difference. In the mother's authority based on child's developing level, all of boy and girl group recognized highly exchange authority with a voluntary difference. 4. In concering the correlation of each authority - domains to father and mother percevied by children, it was shown the highest within identical realm.

The effect of economic difficulty on children's quality of life - focused on mediation effect of parent-child and peer relationships - (경제적 어려움이 아동의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 -부모-자녀 관계 및 또래관계의 매개효과를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediation effects of relationships of parent-child and between-peers based on the effects of economic difficulty on quality of life of elementary school students. Data was obtained from students (N= 493) at seven elementary schools in Choongbuk Province and analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS 5.0. The major findings are as follows: economic difficulty gives a direct effect on elementary students' quality of life and is mediated with parent-child and between-peers relationships. Also, economic difficulty influences children's quality of life when a parent-child relationship is combined with a between-peers relationship. On the basis of these results, this study suggests that welfare centers and elementary schools have to teach students to have desirable sense of value. Also, schools need to provide education programs for parents to improve parent-child relationship and various activities for students to develop between-peers relationship.

The Effect of Poverty on Children's Health (빈곤이 아동의 건강에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effect of poverty on children's health, using data from wave 1-5(2004-2008) lf the Seoul Panel Study of Children surveys(SPSC). The analysis results indicated that poverty has a negative effect on child health over time when controlling for potential variables that mediate the family income-child health association. There was also a strong cumulative effect of poverty that explains much of the strengthening association between the length of poverty and child health. The negative effect of poverty on child health could be enhanced through poor mother-child relationship and marital conflict. This finding suggests that programs to improve child health, by implication, will require family level interventions such as increasing income support and improving care-giving and family interaction.
