Korean Medical Treatment Focusing on Cheongsim-tanggamibang for Hypertriglyceridemia Patient : A Case report (고중성지방혈증 환자에 대한 청심탕가미방 중심의 한방치료 : 증례보고)

  • Introduction The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Cheongsim-tanggamibang on hypertriglyceridemia in a 37-year-old Taeeum- type male patient. Case presentation A 37-year-old male patient complained of hyperhidrosis and hot sensation was diagnosed with hypertriglyceridemia by blood test and 'Liver-Heat Lung-Dry (Ganyeol-paeJo) severe pattern' of Korean Medicine. Cheongsim-tanggamibang was executed twice everyday during 2 months from July, 23rd to September, 21st of 2019. The effectiveness of Cheongsim-tanggamibang was assessed with blood test. Conclusions After the Korean traditional medicine treatment with Cheongsim-tanggamibang prescription, blood triglyceride and total cholesterol levels decreased, and chief complaining symptoms with hot sensation also improved.

Nutritional and Physiological Functionalities of Liriope Tuber (Cheongsim and Liriope Tuber No. 1) (맥문동(청심, 맥문동 1호)의 영양특성 및 생리 기능성)

  • The goal of this study was to investigate the nutritional characteristics and physiological functionality of Liriope tuber for development of new bioactive compound from Liriope tuber. Crude protein and carbohydrate contents of Chenogsim were 9.25% and 77.98%, respectively and crude protein, 9.86% and carbohydrate, 79.08% were also contained in Liriope tuber No.1. Both of Liriope tubers were showed very high contents of sucrose (Cheongsim; 4.08%, Liriope tuber No.1; 4.91%), oxalic acid (0.98%, 0.86%) and glutamic acid (3.736 g/100 g, 4,196 g/100 g). Among several physiological functionalities, tyrosinase inhibitory activity were showed very high 86.4% in Cheongsim and 82.02% in Liriope tuber No.1, respectively.

A Case Report of Hypertension with Intracerebral Hemorrhage of Tae-eumin Improved by Cheongsim Yeunja-tang (청심연자탕(淸心蓮子湯)으로 호전된 뇌내출혈에 고혈압이 동반된 태음인 환자 치험 1례)

  • ■ Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report that a hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage of tae-eumin was treated with 'Cheongsim Yeunja-tang' and then the symptoms were improved and blood pressure was decreased. ■ Methods Although the patient who had hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage took antihypertension drugs, intermittent increase of blood pressure was shown. We diagnosed him as Tae-eumin and treated with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang. We daily checked blood pressure and evaluated the symptoms. ■ Results After the treatment with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang, blood pressure was decreased and symptoms were improved. ■ Conclusion The result shows Cheongsim Yeunja-tang has antihypertensive effect and improve hypertension symptoms of Tae-eumin patient with intracerebral hemorrhage.

  • 'Kangsim-San' is an added and subtracted prescription of 'Cheongsim-Yeonza-Tang' recorded in 'Dongeuy-Soose-Boweon' from which it has become one of the favorate prescriptions at the Oriental Medical Hospital, Kyung-Hee University. It is described in the book that the 'Cheongsim-Yeonza-Tang' can be effective to symptoms relating to fatigue, nocturnal emission, abdominal pain, tongue deviation and palsy, etc. However the 'Kangsim-San' has been used for neurotic syndrome, pulpitation, insomnia, constipation, dry-mouth, auorexia and arrythmias and so on, added to the above-mentioned symptoms for the 'Cheongsim-Yeonza-Tang' at the hospital. Nevertheless, the pharmacological research of fundamental basis is not completed so far, and we have attempted experiment on various animals to study the pharmacological effects of the medicine. The result was proved as follows; The prescription had a considerable effects on the sedation of central nervous system, antipyretic and analgesic action, and vasodilative action.

  • ■ Objectives This clinical study is to report the effect of Korean medicine on two patients with glossodynia. ■ Methods Two patients who suffered from glossodynia were treated with herbal medicine 'Gami Cheongsim-tang', acupuncture, and pharmaco-acupuncture. The intensity of symptoms were measured using Visual Analog Scale(VAS). ■ Results After treatment, the patients' symptoms including pain, burning, tingling, and numbness of tongue were improved. ■ Conclusion These case reports suggest that Korean medicine could be effective in the treatment of Glossodynia.

  • This research was intended to make the writer and the written times of "Dongyi Suse Bowon Sasang ChobonGuen" clear. Considering the contents of "Dongyi Suse Bowon Sasang ChobonGuen", it was the manuscripts of "Dongyi Suse Bowon". So it was written by Lee Je-ma and it was written when he was in the late of 40s and the beginning of the 50s. The chapter of "The origin of human being" was the manuscript of the "Dongyi Suse Bowon" and it had many clues to understand the view points to recoginze the human being, and the chapter of "The herbology and The prescription" had many drafts of original prescription of the "Dongyi Suse Bowon". 'Bangang-tang' is the original prescription of 'GyejiBanhaSnggang-tang' of "Dongyi Suse Bowon" and 'GumiChyunMunDong-tang' is the original prescription of 'CheongsimYeonja-tang' of "Dongyi Suse Bowon". Compared with the 'The pharmacology' of "Dongyi Suse Bowon", it showed the order when the pharmacology of each constitution was completed. The pharmacology of Soyangin was completed the early ears of his c1inical experience, and secondly that of Taeumin was completed, and that of Soeumin was completed in the end.
