배터리 기반 2단 충전 9 kJ/s 고전압 충전기 설계 (Design of 9 kJ/s High Voltage LiPo Battery based 2-stage Capacitor Charger)

  • A lithium polymer battery-based 9 kJ/s high-voltage capacitor charger, which comprises two stages, is proposed. A modified LCC resonant converter and resonant circuit are introduced at the first and second stages, respectively. In the first stage, the methods for handling low-voltage and high-current batteries are considered. Delta-wye three-phase transformers are used to generate a high output voltage through the difference between the phase and line-to-line voltages. Another method is placing the series resonant capacitor of the LCC resonant components on the transformer secondary side, which conducts considerably low current compared with the transformer primary side. On the basis of the stable operation of the first charging stage, the secondary charging stage generates final output voltage by using the resonance. This additional stage protects the rectifying diodes from the negative voltage when the output capacitor is discharged for a short time. The inductance and capacitance of the resonance components are selected by considering the resonance charging time. The design procedure for each stage with the aforementioned features is suggested, and its performance is verified by not only simulation but also experimental results.

  • 배터리를 사용함에 따라 노화가 진행되면 배터리의 충전 가능 용량을 나타내는 State of Health(SoH)가 줄어들게 된다. 배터리 모니터링 시스템(BMS)에서 SoH를 추정하는 것이 매우 중요하며, 이를 위해 배터리 내부 저항을 측정하는 방법이 많이 사용된다. 일반적으로 배터리에 특정한 주파수의 전류원을 인가하고 전압응답을 측정하여 내부저항을 연산한다. 충전기가 동작할 경우 전압응답에 충전 고조파 잡음이 발생하여 저항 측정의 정확도가 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 충전잡음의 영향을 제거하기 위하여 강인한 배터리 내부저항 측정 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 전류원 신호와 전압응답 신호를 일정한 주기 동안 적분하여 잡음을 제거하는 방법으로 우수한 정확도와 안정된 연산결과를 보였다. 무정전 전원장치용 BMS에 적용하여 제안한 방법의 유용함을 입증하였다.

A New Approach for Pricing the Internet Service

  • In this Paper, we propose a method of determining the price for the elastic traffic in the current or future Internet services. First, we investigate the behavior in the consumption of bandwidth of elastic traffic in IP network. Next, we propose a new method to relate the bandwidth usage with the pricing for the elastic traffic, which is based partially or fully on the usage rate of the network bandwidth. Next, we propose an optimal charging function for elastic traffic, which is applicable to any Internet services. Finally, we will illustrate the implication of the work via simple numerical experiments.

  • 본 논문에서는 형광등용 인버터에서 발생하는 고조파를 억제할 수 있는 2단 평활랑 콘덴서를 이용한 고효율 고조파 저감회로를 제안한다. 형광등용 인버터에 직류전원으로서 사용되는 전파 전류의 파형은 전압 평활 콘덴서가 충전될 때 입력전압의 최대치 부근에서 펄스형태를 가지는 돌입전류의 발생으로 인해 많은 고조파들을 함유하게 된다. 따라서 이 고조파의 원인이 되는 돌입전류를 억제하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 전단 평활용 콘덴서의 충전전압을 이용하여 입력에서의 갑작스러운 충전전류를 억제하는 방법을 제안하였다. 그 결과 공급전류에서의 고조파의 발생을 억제하여 역율을 개선하게된다. 이에 대한 타당성을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents the design and fabrication of a high-Tc superconducting (HTS) power supply for charging of the HTS magnet load, and its characteristics have been analyzed through experiments. HTS power supply consists of two heaters, an electromagnet, a Bi-2223 solenoid and a Bi-2223 pancake magnet load. In this experiment, 331 mH electromagnet and 0.8 A dc heater current were used, and 8.5 sec and 17 sec were used for pumping period. Mechanism of the superconducting switch is used for heater-trigger. In order to measure the pumping-current with respect to the magnet flux changes, hall sensor was installed at the center of the Bi-2223 pancake load. The experimental observations have been compared with the theoretical predictions. In this experiment, the pumping-current has reached about 1.2 A. In computer simulation, the maximum pumping-current of the system has been predicted to be about 2.7 A.

C-GIS의 설계 및 성능평가 결과분석 (The design of C-GIS and the analysis of its Performance test results)

  • The cubicle type GIS rated at 25.8kV has been designed and manufactured by Jinkwang E&C eacently with their own technologies and KERI's assistances. The C-GIS has been tested to check the design capability for reference before conducting the type test. The operating characteristics test, short time withstand current and peak withstand current test, basic short circuit test duty T60 for preconditioning test, cable charging current switching test, capacitor bank current switching test, basic short circuit test duty T100s and T100a, single phase earth fault test, double earth fault test has been conducted. The test results show that the design and the manufacturing of the C-GIS has an enough capability to pass through the type test except the occurrence of 2 NSDDs in the cable charging current switching test and the instability of opening time at the minimum operating voltage. The problems shown in the tests will be improved soon and the successful pass will be expected in the following type test.

  • This paper proposed dc-dc converter with continuous output current for battery charger. If we charge energy storage device by conventional boost converter, current flows into the discontinuous and as a result reduces the life-time of battery. The output voltage of dc-dc converter should be higher than voltage of across the battery, specially if charging by PV there is a fluctuation of voltage due change of insolation and temperature, therefore will boost and regulate this voltage. The proposal converter includes forward converter and the output voltage of the proposal converter looks like an input voltage and forward output voltage's add. This topology was tested on simulation and experimentation. Simulation and experimentation results indicated that the proposal topology is useful for battery charging because the output current of the converter flows continuously and perfectly.

  • The thickness dependence of stress voltage oxide currents has been measured in oxides with thicknesses between 10nm and 80nm. The oxide currents were shown to be composed of stress current and transient current. The stress current was caused by trap assited tunneling through the oxide. The transient current was caused by the tunneling charging and discharging of the trap in the interfaces. The stress current was used to estimate to the limitations on oxide thicknesses. The transient current was used to the data retention in memory devices.

  • Recently, the research focused on fuel cell hybrid vehicles (FCHVs) is becoming an attractive solution due to environmental pollution generated by fossil fuel vehicles. The proper energy control strategy will result in extending the fuel cell lifetime, increasing of energy efficiency and an improvement of vehicle performance. Battery state of charge (SoC) is an important quantity and the estimation of the SoC is also the basis of the energy control strategy for hybrid electric vehicles. Estimating the battery's SoC is complicated by the fact that the SoC depends on many factors such as temperature, battery capacitance and internal resistance. In this paper, battery charging time estimated by SoC is studied by using the speed response and current response. Hybrid system is consist of a fuel cell unit and a battery in series connection. For experiment, speed response of vehicle and current response of battery were determined under different state of charge. As the results, the optimal battery charging time can be estimated. Current response time was faster than RPM response time at low speed and vice versa at high speed.

  • Global warming is one of the hottest issues which should be solved for future generations. Technologies which prevent the increase of environmental warming are highlighted as the global average temperature increases. Electric vehicles (EVs) are considered to be one of the powerful solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emission. To spread the EV industry, a major premise is that a charging infrastructure is available anywhere the EV operates. In this paper, we will present the demonstration of ' EV quick charging system to the rail power grid' which are cooperated by LS CNS, Seoul Metro and Korea Railway Research Institute.
