화산암 지역 고심도 암반대수층 수리지질특성 평가 (Evaluation of Hydrogeological Characteristics of Deep-Depth Rock Aquifer in Volcanic Rock Area)

  • 고심도 암반대수층이 운영시설의 주요 대상이 되는 고준위 방사성폐기물 처분 분야에서 수리특성 정보들은 관련 처분 부지 선택, 처분 시설 상세 설계, 최적 시공 방안 도출 그리고 운영 시 안정성 평가에 있어 가장 중요한 핵심 요소로 작용한다. 국내에는 좁은 면적에 여러 암종이 혼재되어 분포하고 있기 때문에 다양한 암종별 암반대수층의 수리지질특성을 분석하고 이를 데이터베이스화 하는 사전 작업들이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 고심도 화산암반대수층의 현장 수리특성 중 가장 대표적인 수리전도도 자료를 획득하고 이를 분석 평가하였다. 현장 자료 획득을 위해 자체적으로 개발된 고성능 수리시험 장치를 활용하였고, 표준화된 시험법 및 조사절차를 적용하였다. 수리특성 자료분석 과정에서는 심도별로 수리상수인 수리전도도 값을 구하였으며, 시험 구간에 위치한 투수성 암반 절리를 통한 지하수 흐름 양상에 관해서도 평가하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 일련의 자료 획득 방법, 절차와 분석 결과들은 국내 고심도 암반대수층의 수리특성 자료 데이터베이스 구축에 활용됨과 더불어 향후 다양한 지역별 암종별 수리특성연구에 적용될 기술적 노하우를 향상시키는 역할도 할 것으로 기대된다.

충전절리면의 미끄러짐특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Sliding Characteristics of Infilling-joint Surface)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the sliding characteristics of the infilling-joint surface using the new devised shear test apparatus with changeable slope for the original infilling materials and the infilling materials experienced cyclic freezing-thawing processes. Three types of the mother rock classified as the igneous rock, the metamorphic rock and the sedimentary rock and the infilling materials were collected for laboratory test. The cohesion according to the slope change of the rock joint shows large variation within ${\pm}$5 degrees but the internal friction angle shows appears the linear decreasing tendency. It is confirmed that the affecting factor of slope change of rock joint at the behavior of rock mass is larger than that of the infilling thickness. Test results show that the cohesion and the internal friction angle in 100 times of cyclic freezing-thawing processes are decreased about 50 percent compared with original one. A further study using various infillings materials would lead to a better understanding of the failure mechanism of rock mass by slope change of rock joint.

  • In this paper, it discusses about the stability of rock slope of pyroclastic rock, which can easily meet at construction site. Basically carry out the investigation about the development of a surface of discontinuity, too. With that, it refers to the basic groups of sedimentary rock, treats of general details about investigation of rock slope and stability analysis, and discusses general characteristics and stability analysis case study about rock slope of pyroclastic rock. Achieved basic geological investigation on rock slope of pyroclasic rock, and examine the stability of slope by doing limit equilibrium and geometric stability analysis due to the result of investigation. It is considered to be able to accumulate many data about slope design of pyroclastic rock hereafter estimating degrees of rock mass properties of pyroclastic rock quantitatively.

  • The selection of the support system is an important design parameter in design and construction of the tunnel using the new Australian tunnel method. It is a common practice to select the support based on the rock mass grade, in which the rock mass is classified into five rock groups. The method is applicable if the characteristics of the rock mass are uniform in the vertical direction. However, such case is seldom encountered in practice and not applicable when the properties vary along the vertical direction. This study performs comprehensive three dimensional finite difference analyses to investigate the ground deformation pattern for cases in which the rock mass properties change in the vertical direction of the tunnel axis. The numerically calculated displacements at the tunnel crown show that the displacement is highly dependent on the stiffness contrast of the rock masses. The results strongly indicate the need to select the support type $0.5{\sim}1.0D$(vertical direction) on the rock mass boundary. The paper proposes a new guideline for selecting the support type based the results of the analyses.

  • In this paper, simulated annealing technique was used to estimate the rock joint characteristics, RMR(rock mass rating) values, to overcome the defects of ordinary kriging. Ordinary kriging reduced the variance of data, so lost the characteristics of distribution. Simulated annealing technique could reflect the distribution feature and the spatial correlation of the original data. Through the comparisons between three times simulations, the uncertainty of the simulation could be quantified, and sufficient results were obtained.

  • The sedimentary rocks deposited in Taegu and Kyongbuk region consist of various rocks such as the shale, mudstone, siltstone and sandstone. The characteristics of the sedimentary rocks are distinguished from those of igneous rocks and metamorphy rocks for the stratum caused by deposit environment. This study investigated engineering characteristics of the anisotropy, weathering rock and filled rock joints in the notable features of sedimentary rocks.

  • The characteristics of a rock joint which influence the stability of rock mass structures, such as the cut slopes and the tunnels, are largely controlled by the conditions of the rock joint as well as its boundary conditions. Boundary conditions can be represented by assuming that the deformability(or stiffness) of the rock mass surrounding the joints is modelled by a spring with stiffness. A new direct shear apparatus is developed in this study, which adapts a servo control system using PID algorithm. This apparatus can be used to investigate the various aspects of shear characteristics of the rock joints at conditions of constant normal stress and constant normal stiffness and so on. It is possible that the behavior under the constant normal stiffness condition can be predicted by the normalized graphic method with results obtained from the tests in the constant normal stress condition.

  • Underground structures show different behaviors depending upon the space and the mechanical characteristics of discontinuities, such as joints, beddings, faults and shear zone. Desingning the rock structeres without considering the significance of these discontinuities can lead to false conclusions. This paper includes study on the following topics; the numerical analysis of continuous rock and discontinuous rock around a tunnel, the influences on shotcrete moment and rock-bolt axial force of tunnel due to different joint orientation and stiffness.

암석 절리면의 그라우팅에 의한 보강에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reinforcement of Rock Faults by Grouting)

  • 암반 내에서 주입재는 토사지반에서와는 달리 절리면을 따라 맥상으로 주입되며 그 결과 암반 내의 불연속면의 특성을 변화시키게 된다. 그러므로 그라우팅 후 암반의 변형특성은 주입재가 주입되는 절리의 방향, 절리의 특성, 그리고 현지암반의 응력상태에 따라 달라지게 된다. 즉 그라우팅에 의한 보강효과를 정확히 평가하기 위해서는 암반 내의 불연속면의 특성과 주입재의 특성이 암반의 변형거동에 미치는 영향을 규명하여야 한다. 그러나 현재까지 현장에서 적용되고 있는 그라우팅공법은 시공자의 경험에 의존하고 있으며, 그 효과에 대한 검증도 현장에서의 탄성파속도 측정, 투수시험 등을 통하여 평가하고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 그라우팅에 의한 댐 기초 암반절리면의 전단변형특성을 파악하기 위해서 자연암석 절리면에 OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement)와 Micro Cement를 각각 주입하여, 주입재의 종류, 절리면 거칠기의 평균진폭(a)에 대한 주입두께(t)를 변화시켜가면서 암석절리면 직접전단시험을 실시한 실험결과들을 비교 분석하여 최대전단강도, 잔류전단강도 등의 전단특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 검토하였다.
