  • The purposes of this research were to analyse the female college students' appraisals and demands about actual conditions of job-seeking and to propose the developmental alternatives from the perspectives of gender equality. The data were obtained through 510 female students living in Gwangju. The major findings were as follows: 1) Women's needs of job-seeking were very intensive but their preparation level was relatively low. Colleges' support system and organization utility were uneffective because their programs were not specified for women. Women generally recognized that social improvement for gender equality in employment system were very important and more practical methods and contents were demanded in education for job-seeking. 2) Women's grade and major were significant variables in the differences of job preparation, consciousness of job-seeking, social support and appraisals. Therefore, college supporting systems must consider students' characteristics. 3) The job-seeking mechanisms must be changed to more effective systems for the achievement of gender equality. Also community members, colleges and students should make collaborate endeavors for the women empowerment.

  • This study analyzed 10,352 married women to find the correlation between marital equality felt by married women and additional childbirth intentions. Frequency analysis and chi-square test analysis were performed to analyze the general characteristics of the investigator, and studies were conducted through binary logistic regression analysis and interaction analysis to analyze the relevance between each variable and additional childbirth. As a result, the 4-point group based on the 0-point group that lowest marital equality had 2.01 times higher willingness to additional birth. And, the 3-point group and the 2-point group were 1.46 times and 1.41 times higher than 0-point group with marital equality and additional childbirth intentions. In addition, intention of additional childbirth was increased when the higher the number of children, if they own a house, and if wives are non-regular or unemployed. This study analyzed the relationship between married women's intention to give birth additionally, focusing on marital equality. It is suggested that specific and reasonable policies at the macro level are required to improve the fertility rate.

  • This study aims to provide basic data for the development of educational programs for effective gender equality education in elementary schools by confirming the consciousness of gender equality in the 5th and 6th graders of elementary school. In this study, 5th and 6th graders attending three elementary schools located in G and A cities explained the research and collected data using questionnaires from 190 people who wished to participate in the research. Frequency analysis and percentage were used for general characteristics of subjects, and t-test and ANOVA were used for differences in gender equality awareness according to subjects' sex, grade, and number of siblings. Consciousness of gender equality showed an average of 3.47 points out of 4, with an average of 3.51 points in the social and cultural life area, 3.49 points in the home life area, 3.47 points in the school life area, and 3.38 points in the vocation life area. Various activities should be conducted to raise students' consciousness of gender equality, and families, schools, and society should jointly strive to create a gender-equal cultural climate. Future study is needed to identify the factors affecting the gender equality awareness of elementary school students.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the direction of communication design through in-depth interviews on the topic of gender equality, which is an active theme of social issue happening worldwide, and to suggest a direction to provide better social issue communication direction. In order to do so, firstly, I researched case studies and investigated the characteristics of gender magazines such as If, Ferm and Womankind. Secondly, I conducted an empirical study of in-depth interviews to identify the emotional adjectives by women and men by different age groups from gender equality storytelling magazine experience. As a result, I was able to grasp two points necessary. First of all, for the gender equality content messages closely related to everyday stories level down the barrier and become easier to empathize with. Second of all, the more complex the social issues are, the more sustainable and credible if the content developed steadily and contingently. This study is meaningful in that it suggested a series of directions for communicating gender equality issues. Future research should complement the suggested directions for gender equality communication design and contribute to guiding further directions.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of marriage consciousness, occupational consciousness, and gender equality consciousness on childbirth will in nursing students and to provide the basic data of to control childbirth will. Data were collected from 242 nursing students in B city and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0. The average of marriage consciousness was 3.43±.36, the average of occupational consciousness was 3.30±.47, the average of gender equality consciousness was 3.85±.37, the average of childbirth will consciousness was 3.48±.42. The childbirth will according to the general characteristics was not significantly different. The study subject's childbirth will was correlated with occupational consciousness(r=.279, p<.001), occupational consciousness(r=.143, p=.026), gender equality consciousness(r=.263, p<.001), and marriage conscious was correlated occupational consciousness(r=.279, p<.001). The factors influencing childbirth will of the study subjects were marriage consciousness(𝛽=.215,p=.001), gender equality consciousness(𝛽=.239, p<.001), and the explanatory power of these variables was 11.9%. • This study reviewed the Technology & Home Economics Education textbooks to examine if their illustrations would be appropriate for students' balanced view of gender. To this end, the textbooks of 'Technology & Home Economics Education 1 and 2' from 12 publishers (24 books in total) were analyzed focusing on the formative and content characteristics of illustrations in the textbooks. The results of this study is as follows. There were areas in the textbooks that may not be considered gender-equal. Although the textbooks have been improved to some extent from the previous versions, they still show gender stereotypes biased towards men. If students are constantly exposed to the prescriptive characteristics that are in favor of certain gender, they would find it difficult to develop their personality strengths, due to the gender role pressures. In order to help students cultivate sensitivity and activism toward the gender equality issues, it is important that the textbooks are gender-equal. To summarize, in order to suggest to students a balanced image of society with male and female cooperating with each other in diverse domains, it is deemed necessary to constantly examine and revise the textbooks for their gender stereotypic contents, and thereby, improve them for gender equality.

  • This study was conducted to synthesize sexual violence prevention programs by systematic review and to establish an effective program for its prevention. Existing studies of domestic sexual violence prevention programs were retrieved using RISS, KISS, and NDSL from 2000 until August 2018. Of 1125 studies identified, 22 met the inclusion criteria. Study participants were children to adults and students with disabilities. The methods of intervention varied according to the characteristics of the participants and included lectures, discussions, role plays, puppet shows, songs and campaigns. The contents of the intervention were related to the concepts of sexual violence, sexual violence coping, sexual harassment, and gender equality, while the main variables influencing the results of intervention were sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual violence knowledge, sexual violence coping and gender equality consciousness. In most of the studies was effective. However, for some studies, sexual awareness and sexual attitude were not significant influencing factors. Future sexual violence prevention programs should include gender equality and bystander concepts, that can recognize social responsibility for sexual violence.

  • Students have difficulties in solving linear equation problems with a variable on the right side rather than linear equation problems a variable on the left side of the sign of equality. In order for students to overcome such difficulties, opportunities to experience many types of basic linear equation problems would have to be provided. Also, it is necessary to examine the process of students' problem solving process by constructing various types of evaluation item and test them in instruction and learning of linear equations, or grasp students' studying statues through individual interview and based on theses, error correction through feedbacks have to be achieved.
