  • This study is to focuses on users' attitudes toward augmented reality games. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Flow theory, continuous usage intention was set as a dependent variable, and immersion was set as a mediating variable. As independent variables, spatial presence, perceived interactivity, perceived pleasure, and sickness were set. Besides, this study strived to compare and analyze Korean and Chinese Data. The results of this study were as follows. First of all, Korean users significantly affected spatial presence, perceived pleasure, and immersion. Spatial presence and perceived pleasure had also mediated effects on continuous usage intention through immersion. However, perceived interactivity and sickness did not affect immersion and even no mediating effect to continuous usage intention. In the case of Chinese users, spatial presence, perceived interactivity, and perceived pleasure were grouped into one variable. This variable influenced immersion and also had mediated effect on continuous usage intention. However, sickness, like Korean users, did not affect the set path. This study had implications for analyzing user perspective using immersion, a significant variable in previous research. In addition, this study found similarities and characteristics through a comparative analysis between Korean and Chinese users indirectly.

  • This study aims to clarify the difference between scores for time management practice and the self-evaluation of time use according to time rules in families. This study used data obtained from the first survey on after-school activities in 2008, conducted by the Benesse Educational Research and Development Institute in Japan. The study sample consists of 3,372 middle school students. First, scores for independence and planning were highest in third grade, yet the score for regularity was also lowest in third grade. There will be different lifestyles even among middle school students of the same grade, so it is necessary to consider their characteristics and family rules. Second, the scores for independence, regularity and planning were lowest in groups whose families had rules about time (time rules for curfew, time rules for watching television, time rules for playing games), but in which those rules were not kept. These results were similar for both boys and girls and show that it is more important keep rules rather than to make rules.

  • The ratio of roles, involving characters created by 2D or 3D Graphic Technology, has risen within games, recent animations, movies and the educational sector. However, the "monster character" appears mainly in "Shanghai Ching" and Greek and Roman mythology. To receive worldwide accolade, it is time that we should use our games, movies and animations to present the history and spirit of Korea. I researched Korean myths so as to understand the characteristics a "Korean monster" would need to portray. This also allowed me to visualise the monster and realize the necessary manufacturing processes involved.

In this process, one should convert multiple unique elements into the required cultural and linguistic environments. This paper provides actual localization cases of "puns" appear in an adventure game, which is especially difficult; also it presents several typical types of translations for the puns that professional translators try. By this observation, this paper discusses some characteristics of game, as a medium, which are different from those of traditional media and proper approaches to translate "puns."

  • Path-finding, one of the traditional Game A.I. problems, becomes an important issue to make games more realistic. Due to the limited resources in the computer system, path-finding systems sometimes produce a simplified and unrealistic path. The most relent researches have been focused on the path-finding avoiding only static obstacles. Various moving obstacles are however deployed in real games, a method avoiding those obstacles and producing a smooth path is necessary. In this paper, navigation mesh is used to represent 3D space and its topological characteristics are used for path-finding. Intellectual repulser and attractor are also used to avoid moving obstacles and to find an optimal path. We have evaluated the path produced by the method proposed in this paper and verified its usability in real game.

In addition, Gonzalo Francesca also suggested an alternative game developing method through 'game that conveys critical messages by strengthening critical reasons'. [2] They all provided evidences showing game can be a strong academic tool. Not only does a genre called social game exist in the field of media and Social Network Game, but there are also some efforts to positively evaluate its value Through these kinds of researches, we can study how game can give positive influence along with the change in its general perception, which would eventually lead to spreading healthy game culture and enabling fresh life experience. • The purpose of this research is to find the specific structure with factors that affect online game users' positive word of mouth(WOM) for online game companies to maintain existing and new users. In previous studies the influence of characteristics of online games and attributes of users on intention to play online games is mainly focused on. However online games are products with communication on network, so that critical mass through diffusion as well as the use of product by individual consumers is important issues. Therefore, it is necessary to consider network externality effect that the more value can be obtained by more game users. The authors verified that the influence of the variables like social mass and critical mass, affecting consumers' attitude and WOM. According to the research results, social norm and critical mass have significant influence on positive attitude and WOM intention for online games. Another results verified that social norm and users' attitude affect positive WOM intention directly. These results suggest managerial implication regarding social norm and critical mass to online game companies that desire for WOM to get more online game users.
