Impact of Economic Value in the O2O Distribution Channel on Brand Attractiveness and Performance

  • Purpose: With the unique feature of O2O, consumers are now able to check the profile of the services and products online and then consume them in offline venues or vice versa. This study provides motivation and practical implications about online-to-offline (O2O) distribution channels and investigates the relationship between economic values, service consistency and brand identity attractiveness in the O2O distribution channel. Then identify the impact of brand identity attractiveness on the performance (reputation and reuse intention). Research design, data, and methodology: Structural equation modeling (SEM) has been used to investigate the relationship between economic value and brand identity attractiveness, which affects the reputation and reuse intention of services in O2O. Results: Empirical results show the positive and significant impact of economic value and service consistency on brand identity attractiveness which results the positive and significant impact on performance (reputation and reuse intention) in O2O. Conclusion: In the O2O distribution channel, economic value is an important aspect for the attractive image and brand identity. On the other side, brand identity attractiveness is important for the bright future of O2O services, continuous growth, achieving the distinct goal, keeping good promises with customers, and a better reputation of O2O services in distribution channels.

The Channel Brand of Terrestrial Television Video News : Focusing on SBS's Subusu New sand MBC's 14F (지상파 방송사 동영상 뉴스의 채널 브랜드에 관한 연구 : SBS 스브스뉴스와 MBC 14F를 중심으로)

  • In this study, we examine the components and characteristics of channel brands, the renewal process of channel brands, and the competitiveness of SBS Subusu News and MBC 14F, online channels of Korea's leading terrestrial broadcasting company. We conducted in-depth interviews with staffs YouTube news channels such as Subusu News and 14F. First, examining the brand components and characteristics of SBS's Subusu News and MBC's 14F vertical channel, Subs News maintained its direction through the renewal of the logo type, graphic characterization, emoticon production, and campaign design production. 14F focused on brand renewal of the logo type and modification of thumbnail design to reveal the identity of the channel brand. Subusu News and 14F have achieved success through a spin-off approach that considers content relevance, expanding their brand extension. As a result of analyzing the competitiveness of the channel brand, Subusu News maintained its identity as a combination of B-class sensibility and journalism, while 14F positioned itself as a channel that delivers useful information content.

  • Comprehensive programming channels are based on recognition of the parent company, their parent newspaper has increased brand awareness. In this paper, the comprehensive channels to look at the structure of the channel brand architecture, a certain brand of newspapers and comprehensive channels have a effect on the formation of the image of the channel according to the future of the brand extension strategy for MPP. Referring to the brand architecture, which reveals the structural system of the brand, it is argued that TV Chosun and MBN take the integrated corporate brand strategy, while JTBC tries to mix and balance the brands of the parent corporation and its own independent one. Exceptionally, Channel A doesn't take a name of its parent corporation 'Dong-A'. It is argued that the comprehensive programming channels utilize and take the parent corporate brand, mixed brand, and independent brand in accordance with circumstances of their own parent corporates. Their parent brand of comprehensive channels give viewers a positive image and awareness of comprehensive channel brand. while building its own channel images, TV Chosun and Channel A Conservative extension of a certain brand marketers to be bound by the channel's image. Brand extension of comprehensive channels is to have the strength of their entry into the genre that is most likely higher.

A Study on the Impact of the SNS-Based Virtual Brand Community Identity on Brand Loyalty (SNS에 기반한 가상 브랜드 커뮤니티의 아이덴티티가 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Customers who show high level of brand loyalty are one of the most important corporate assets. Accordingly, customers' brand loyalty has been addressed as a critical issue for the business success. In today's business environment where business channels to customers have expanded and diversified continuously, especially the use of social network services (SNSs) have drawn a lot of attention as an effective channel to promote customers' brand loyalty. This study, thus, analyzes the impact of the virtual brand community identity on customers' brand loyalty, focusing on the role of the sense of communities as mediators. The analysis was conducted by using the data collected from 239 users of Chinese virtual brand communities. The results show that both virtual brand community identity and the sense of communities significantly influence on customers' brand loyalty. Furthermore, the results reveal that both of the community belongingness and community trust composing the sense of community partially mediate virtual brand community and brand loyalty as hypothesized. Based on the results, the strategic implications are suggested and discussed, focusing on improving the customers' brand loyalty in the context of SNSs. Our findings and discussions can help companies develop their customer strategies for utilizing the virtual communities to strengthen customers' brand loyalty.

  • This study presents methods and alternative examples for fashion brands to effectively use video-based communication channels to form brand identity that analyzes the definition, status and type of YouTube channel fashion films as well as enables the ability to derive brand identity characteristics. Literature studies focused on Christian Dior's official website and related previous studies. The temporal range of the case studies was from October 7, 2010, the date when the first fashion film was uploaded to current Christian Dior YouTube to July 17, 2020 (the survey date), and there are a total of 550 subjects for quantitative analysis. The succession of the couture spirit means that Christian Dior's craftsmanship was created and passed down by Musée Christian Dior to act as a contemporary key element of brand identity. The iconic expression of femininity is Dior's core design philosophy that began when the woman image of a new era was presented through a new look, and Dior's femininity means a woman that reflects the character of the times as is interpreted as her own personality from the perspective of modernism through the creative directors of future generations. The brand's core identity code 'Miss Dior' expresses the brand's vision and eternity through perfume as well as targets Z generation male consumers through an emotional approach based on forms that used emotional images such as movie-type films.

Brand Identity and Architecture of the 4 Comprehensive Programming Channels (종합편성채널의 브랜드 정체성와 브랜드 체계)

  • This research aims to analyze the characteristics of the channel brand components, identities in accordance with the organizational strategies of the programmes, and brand structures of the comprehensive programming channels. The channels promote themselves mobilizing a variety of channel brand components and, ecxept Channel A, JTBC, TV Chosun, and MBN coined its names which are reminiscent of their parents corporations. The organizational strategies of the programmes are related with the channel identities. TV Chosun, for instance, branded themselves as 'conservative advocate' while focusing on news programs, and Channel A also takes conservative bias strategy focusing on the news programmes, especially after the 2012 presidential election. JTBC, however, organizes drama and entertainment programmes intensively being equivalent to that of terrestrial broadcasting programmes, and MBN positioned neutral and center with the news and cultural programmes. Referring to the brand architecture, which reveals the structural system of the brand, it is argued that TV Chosun and MBN take the integrated corporate brand strategy, while JTBC tries to mix and balance the brands of the parent corporation and its own independent one. Channel A, exceptionally, doesn't take a name of its parent corporation 'Dong-A'. In conclusion, it is argued that the comprehensive programming channels utilize and take the parent corporate brand, mixed brand, and independent brand in accordance with the brand power and circumstances of their own parent corporates.

Mobile Commerce Brand Identity Strategy by SNS Text mining

  • In this paper, I propose an efficient brand identity strategy by topic modeling the Instagram posts, one of SNS(Social Network Service) having more than 1billion world-wide and 500 million daily users. Since the 92% age groups of the Instagram is 18~50 years old (59% 18~29y and 33% 30~49), I set research analysis target three mobile commerce sites to dress and cosmetics sales sites that sale apparels cosmetics and gadgets that recently opened and have operated marketing on diverse channel including SNS. By topic modeling SNS posts for 6 months after launching the site that tagged each m-commerce site brand name or company name, I validate companies' brand identity strategy works effectively and suggest moderation of strategy for brand image. As a result, I found one of three mobile commerce site has different brand image by users and need different identity set up.

  • The emergence of new communication media, digital, is something of a wonder, as well as a cultural tension. The industrial technologies that dramatically expand human abilities are being developed much faster than the speed of adaptation by humans. Without an exception, it creates new contents and form of the culture by shaking the very foundation of the notion about human beings. Korean broadcasting environment has stepped into the era of multi-media, multi-channel as the digital technology separated the media into network, cable, satellite and internet. In this digital culture, broadcasting, as a medium of information delivering and communication, has bigger influence than ever. Such changes in broadcasting environment turned the TV viewers into new consumers who participate and play the main role in active communication by choosing and using the media. This study is trying to systemize the question about the core identity of broadcasting through brand as the consumers stand in the center of broadcasting with the power to select channel. The story schema theory can be applied as a cognitive psychological tool to approach the active consumers in order to explain the cognitive processes that are related to information processing. It is a design with stories, which comes up as a case of a brand's story telling. The range of this study covers the current issue and educational programs in network TV during the period of May and August of year 2005. The cases of Korean and foreign programs were compared by the station each program is broadcasted. This study concludes that it is important to take the channel identity into the consideration in the brand strategy of each program. Especially, the leading programs of a station must not be treated as a separate program that has nothing to do with the station's identity. They must be treated to include the contents and form that builds the identity of the channel. Also, this study reconfirmed that building a brand of the anchor person can play as an important factor in the identity of the program's brand.

  • Some may call Peter Marine as 'an ego-less architect', or 'palace maker' due to his designs or attitudes that appearantly please world's most well known clients. However, his eclectic taste and artistic expressions combined with his minimal and abstract architectural approaches are being recognized in many places globally, especially in many fashion brand stores such as Channel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Fendi. Born and educated in U.S., Peter Marino designs are influenced by two most famous designers of our modern art history Andy Warhol and Jean-Micheal Franks, that are obvious in his traditionally modern French style designs and abstract expressions. The current study introduces Peter Marine designs through analyses of Channel and Louis Vuitton. The objectives are to understand the designer and find patterns in his brand store designs that has made him now one of the most famous fashion store designers. Educational, social, and personal interest were found to strongly form his design characteristics and four main characteristics were identified by the researcher that are use of LED lightings, emphasis on vortical circulations, graphical application of brand identities, and repetition of simple geometric forms.

A study of creative humor represented in Moschino's works (모스키노의 패션 세계에 반영된 창조적 유머)

  • This study is to assist in developing creative designs based on the humor available in the fashion world of Moschino. For the research method, this writing examined literature on humor and Moschino's fashion world and analyzed Moschino's fashion collection, show window, Maison Moschino, and collaborative products to conduct an empirical analysis of humor shown to the fashion media. The research results are as follows. The humor in Moschino's fashion appeared in the form of surrealistic humor with the depaysement technique, deconstructive wit in clothing, such as distortion, change, or exaggeration, and textual humor, including brand symbols, logos, and graffiti. Collection pieces indicated the brand's confirmative identity based on humor with the surrealistic depaysement technique and deconstructive wit through irregular phenomena, such as change, distortion, exaggeration, and illusion in clothing form. Additionally, such attributes added to Moschino's wit and humor in decorative costume components as graphic images, graffiti, and brand symbols, including smile, love, and reversal. The show window display delivered surprises and smiles through the production of surrealistic space borrowed from various objects. In particular, performance with surrealistic images helped to show the characteristics of parodic humor. Maison Moschino was a surrealistic space for the concept of the fairy tale and for practical experience, thus working as a communication channel for humor and emotion. Collaborative products also clearly reflected the identity of the designer's own humor, which showed scarcity value as well as differentiation.
