A Liquidated Damages Calculation Method Based on Owner's Substantial Loss (발주자 손실기반 지체상금 산정 개선방안)

  • The delay of construction is one of the most frequent and complicated elements of the claim. And the liquidated damages cause many disputes during the judgement. The liquidated damages should be a compensation for owner's substantial loss, but actually be applied as a damage for breach of contract. These damages are different from owner's loss and give constructors a excessive burden. So we need a more reasonable system than a lump application system. In this study, we make a Improvement System, that based on owner's substantial loss, and suggest the new liquidated damages calculation method.

Effect of the Degree of Fuel-Air Mixing and Equivalence Ratio on the NOx Emission and Heat Release in a Dump Combustor (모형연소기에서 연료-공기의 혼합정도 및 당량비가 NOx 배출과 열 방출량에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • Lean premixed combustors are used for significant NOx reduction which one of issues in current gas turbine combustor. This study was investigated to estimate the effects of the unmixedness of fuel-air, equivalence ratio on the instability mechanism, NOx emission and combustion oscillation in a lean premixed combustor. The experiments were conducted in a dump combustor at atmospheric pressure conditions using methane as fuel. The swirler angle was $45^{\circ}$, the degrees of fuel-air mixing were 0, 50 and 100 and inlet temperature was 650K. The equivalence ratio was ranging from 0.5 to 0.8. This paper shows that NOx emission was increased when the degree of fuel-air mixing is increased in same equivalence ratio and when equivalence ratio is increased. And the range of the combustion instability was enlarged as a function of increasing of the degree of fuel-air mixing.

Study on the Present Status and Developments of New Health Technologies of Traditional Korean Medicine (한의 신의료기술 행위 동향 분석)

  • Objectives : The new health technology assessment system was introduced in April 2007. The purpose of new health technology assessment is assessing safety and efficacy in deciding a behavior of new health technology according to the Health Insurance Act. This study aims to understand the present status of new health technologies of Korean medicine. Methods : This research introduces new health technologies and their present status, and searches for a development direction for the new health technology of Korean medicine in the future. Results : Thirty seven cases(3%) of Korean medicine doctors who utilized new health technologies application were found. In the status about new health technologies application by technologies assortment, diagnostic test techniques were used more often than treatment skills. New medical technology that included korean medicine doctor as actual user was only one item, i.e. HCV antibody test. Conclusions : In order for the new health technology of korean medicine to settle down well, continuous interest and efforts of both government and medical community are necessary.

  • Objectives : Nowadays, the assessment of new health technologies is gaining interest as an important issue for the safety of national health in the rapidly changing medical environment. The aim of this study is to understand how ignorant the korean medicine doctors are of new health technologies. Methods : The authors conducted a survey on the status of the ignorance of new health technologies in Korean medical doctors by e-mail. Results : Korean medical doctors' ignorance of new health technologies proved serious. The awareness of the law, however, was reached to some degree. The respondents answered that the present items of Korean Medicine listed in the medical care expenses by national health insurance system are too deficient to treat their patients effectively. Conclusions : It is strongly needed to try for more active registration of Korean medical new health technologies.

  • The identification of embryo-specific genes would provide insights into early embryonic development. However, the current methods employed to identify the genes that are expressed at a specific developmental stage are labor intensive and suffer from high rates of false positives. Here we employed a new and accurate reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology that involves annealing control primers(ACPs) to identify the genes that are specifically expressed in porcine blastocysts compared to 2-cell stage embryos. Temperature Control of Electric Furnaces using Adaptive Time Optimal Control (적응최적시간제어를 사용한 전기로의 온도제어)

  • An electric furnace, inside which desired temperatures are kept constant by generating heat, is known to be a difficult system to control and model exactly because system parameters and response delay time vary as the temperature and position are changed. In this study the heating system of ceramic drying furnaces with time-varying parameters is mathematically modeled as a second order system and control parameters are estimated by using a RIV (Recursive Instrumental-Variable) method. A modified bang-bang control with magnitude tuning is proposed in the time optimal temperature control of ceramic drying electric furnaces and its performance is experimentally verified. It is proven that temperature tracking of adaptive time optimal control using a second order model is more stable than the GPCEW (Generalized Predictive Control with Exponential Weight) and rapidly settles down by pre-estimation of the system parameters.

Investigation into Characteristics of Bending Stiffness and Failure for ISB Panel (ISB 판넬의 굽힘강성 및 파손특성에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this research works is to investigate into characteristics of bending stiffness and failure for the ISB ultra-lightweight panel with internally structured material. The expanded metal with a crimped pyramid shape and woven metal are employed as an internally structured material. Through three-points bending test, the force-displacement curve and failure shape are obtained to examine the deformation pattern, characteristic data, such as maximum load, displacement at maximum load, etc, and failure pattern of the ISB panel. In addition, the influence of design parameters fur ISB panel on the specific stiffness, the specific stiffness per unit width, failure mode and failure map has been found. Finally, it has been shown that ISB containing expand metal with the crimped pyramidal shape is prefer to that containing woven metal from the view point of optimal design for ISB panel.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a receiver operating between a rotary machine encoder and DSP. The receiver connects with the encoder using 1 bit serial data and DSP using 16 bits bus line. The receiver and encoder use the different operating frequency each other. We suggest a new apparatus and method of synchronized code for header detection in 1bit serial communication. The system operating frequency can be changed into 20MHz or 60MHz by using the external port such as 'clk_select'.

UNSM Surface Technology for Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Torsion Bars for Crawler Vehicles (초음파 나노표면개질을 적용한 궤도차량용 토션바 제조 및 재제조용 표면 개질기술에 관한 연구)

  • The Ultrasonic Nanocrystal Surface Modification (UNSM) technology improves the fatigue life of a torsion bar by inducing compressive residual stress on the surface layer. The UNSM is applied to replace the presetting method and shot peening technology. The torsion bar must be changed periodically because of a lack of durability and a phenomenon related to the stress relaxation. The torsion fatigue test specimens were made of DIN17221 material, and the results showed that the fatigue life was 5 times more than under durability test conditions. A comparison test between the commercial vehicles' presetting method and shot peened torsion bar and the UNSM torsion bar showed that the UNSM could replace the presetting method and shot peening.

Literature Review about Yangseng(養生) studies in Korean Oriental Medicine (한의학 분야에서의 양생 연구 동향분석)

  • Objectives : This study was aimed to analysis the trend of Yangseng(養生) studies in Korean Oriental Medicine and to consider the scope of Yangseng research. Method : We collected 86 articles on Yangseng study result from the OASIS system using the keyword 'Yangseng'. Results : There were Yangseng study papers that were published between 1963 and 2011. Published 21 papers on The Korean Journal of Oriental Preventive Medicine were more than the other journals. Literature studies account for 78% of total studies, whereas clinical studies account for only 22%. Effects of clinical studies was evaluated mainly by survey. Conclusions : High quality experimental studies and intervention studies have not yet been published. It is necessary to research and develop duration of Yangseng effect and tools for evaluating.
