3차원 초음속 터빈의 노즐-로터 상호작용에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis on the Nozzle-Rotor of a 3-D Supersonic Turbine)

  • 본 연구에서는, 먼저 $Fine^{TM}/Turbo$의 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 초음속 터빈의 실험 결과와 비교 해석하였다. 그 결과 $Fine^{TM}/Turbo$는 초음속 유동 현상을 비교적 정확하게 해석함을 알 수 있었다. 다음으로 Grid Independency Test를 통하여 3차원 터빈의 적합한 격자계를 선정하여. 3차원 초음속 터빈의 노즐-로터 상호작용에 관해 유동해석을 실시하였다. 터빈의 노즐-로터간의 축방향 간격은 점점 커질수록 높은 추력을 나타냈으며, 로터 블레이드의 Chamfering Angle 또한 Blade-Edge가 날카로워 질수록 추력이 증가하였다.

추진제 그레인 래디얼 슬롯내의 폼 코어에 의한 압력증가 해석 (A Study on the Pressure Increase due to the Foam Left in the Radial Slot of Propellant Grain)

  • The radial slot configuration in the solid propellant grain is usually fabricated by the polyurethane foam slot former The foam cannot be easily removed from the solid propellant, some can remain in the slot. Analogue solid propellant rocket motors using polyurethane foam to shape the slot are static fired with the foam former still in place in the slot. The pressure increases at the slot part are measured and there are indications of the propellant cracks at the insulations above the slot. The pressure increase is produced at the beginning of the burning sequence as the foam will hinder the combustion gas of the burning propellant from flowing into the central bore. The pressure increase up to about 300psi is predicted for the motor tested and this pressure increase depends on the gap between the propellant and foam surfaces and remaining foam volume. This amount of pressure increase inside of the slot is estimated to cause the propellant crack. To prevent this pressure increase, minimizing the foam remainder in the slot and making sufficient chamfering at the comer of the slot entrance are suggested.

모따기된 전향계단에 부딪치는 와류에 의한 비정상 벽면압력 변동 (Unsteady Wall Pressure Fluctuation Generated from the Impinging Vortex on the Chamfered Forward Step)

  • Modifying effects of the rectangular forward step for suppressing the unsteady pressure fluctuation during interaction between the upstream vortical flow with the edge are studied numerically. The vortical flow is modeled by a point vortex, and the unsteady pressure coefficient is obtained from the velocity and the potential field. To investigate the effects of the edge shape the rectangular forward step is chamfered with various angles. Calculation show that the pressure peaks become decreased by increasing the vortex height as well as the chamfering angle. The pressure amplitudes are very sensitive to the change of the initial vortex height. From this study we can find out that the chamfered edge has two effects; the one is that it suppresses the pressure amplitude generated from the edge, and the other is that it decreases the time variation of unsteady pressure fluctuation. These modifying concepts can be applied to attenuate the self-sustained oscillation mechanism at the open cavity flow.

방사광 가속기용 2극 전자석 특성측정 및 보정 (Magnetic Measurement of PLS Storage Ring Prototype Dipole Magnet)

  • 포항 방사광 가속기 저장링용 시제품 2극전자석의 특성측정 및 보정결과에 대하여 기술 하였다. 전자석의 저장특성 측정을 위해 Hall probe mapping 기법과 rotating coil 기법과 rotating coil 기법을 동시에 사용하였다. 자장측정 결과로부터 2극전자석의 요구조건을 만족하도록 자극의 양 쪽 끝 부분을 수정하였다. 보정이 끝난 전자석은 2.0 GeV의 beam energy로 동작시킬 경우(1.058 Tesla) 약 99.7%의 효율을 얻었으며, 4극 이상의 다극 오차성분도 허용오차 범위 미만으로 포항 방사광 가속 기 저장링용 2극 전자석으로 적합함이 판명 되었다.

  • This paper presents the characteristic analysis and experiment of force characteristics in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor for accuracy prediction of linear motion machine tools. In particular, the pitching moment resulting from attraction force ripple has been analysed and tested. Firstly, we analysed the characteristics of detent force, attraction force, and pitching moment in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor according to the design techniques such as auxiliary teeth, chamfering, and permanent magnet skewing. In addition, we suggested the experimental set for measurement of pitching moment. Finally, the results from measurement shows the good agreement with those obtained from finite element analysis results.

자율형 소화모니터 노즐의 분사 성능에 대한 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on Spray Performance of Nozzles for Autonomous Fire Fighting Monitor)

  • A systematic experimental study is carried out for the fire fighting monitor nozzle of 65A diameter to design and manufacture a new nozzle with better water spray performance than available domestic nozzles. The nozzle inlet pressure, flow rate and reach for the discharged water from the nozzle are measured by utilizing the experimental facility consisting of two pumps and piping system with a flow meter and pressure gauges. It was found that the baffle position and baffle head chamfering were the most sensitive design factors to be remarkably changed in the flow rate of the discharged water. Also, It was confirmed that the baffle position and the water exit area had the significant effect on the change in reach distance. The results obtained from this study are expected to be used effectively to design new nozzles with excellent spray performances and also to validate numerical analysis results for evaluating the water spray performance of fire fighting monitor nozzles.
