In this paper, it is assumed that a mobile radio channel is a Rayleigh distributed multipath fading channel and Erlang capacity and equivalent channel numbers are calculated for the reverse link of a imperfect power controlled DS/CDMA cellular system considering both shadowing and multipath fading. The DS/CDMA blocking probability is calculated based on a new analysis method that considers Erlang capacity and ICF(interference correction factor) using the median value of $E_{b(i)}$/ $I_{o}$ corresponding to each reverse link user. It is showed that the effect of multipath fading must not be ignored in Erlang capacity of the IS-95 DS/CDMA cellular system and the Erlang capacity is decreased according to the increase of the deviation of the imperfect power control, to the decrease of the processing gain, to the increase of the voice activity.y.

This letter presents an approximation of the outage probability of the pilot channel that can be used for CDMA cell planning. The approximation can determine system parameters for soft handover in IS-95-based cellular CDMA downlink design. Computer simulations show that our analytical results agree with empirical results.

We implemented a code searcher which is used for the PN(pseudo noise) code acquisition in CDMA cellular mobile station. To reduce the reuired hardware and the code acquisition time, we used the double dwell structure which is an effective serial code acquisition metho. We designed a code acquisition has acquired within 1/2 PN chip range. The code searcher is implemented using 0.8 micron code searcher is successfully working in CDMA cellular mobile station and it satisfies the code acquisition time specified in IS-95 standard.

In this paper, we propose a new channel assignment scheme considering traffic characteristics in the CDMA cellular system. The object of proposed method is to reduce the hard handoff of data calls which are very sensitive to transmission errors. In this algorithm, we use three channel assignment policies. First, all of the data calls are assigned to the primary CDMA channel if possible. Second, priority for primary CDMA channel is given to data calls by assigning some primary CDMA traffic channels exclusively for data calls. Third, data calls are assigned to the CDMA channel most served by neighbor cells, when all of the primary CDMA traffic channels are used. A performance analysis shows the minimum soft handoff probability of data calls in handoff which is guarantied any cellconfiguration is increased above 40% by the adopting proposed algorithm.

본 논문에서는 인접한 대역에 ETACS와 CDMA 방식의 디지털 셀룰라 시스템이 공존하는 중국 상해 지역의 간섭환경에서 기존의 간섭제거장비보다 이를 효과적으로 개선할 수 있는 Interference Canceller System(ICS)을 설계하고, 개발된 부품들을 통해 구현하였다. 구현된 ICS는 무선채널환경의 변화에 안정적이면서 인접한 대역의 ETACS와 CDMA 방식의 디지털 셀룰라 시스템 간에 약 29 dB 이상의 간섭 제거 성능을 보유한 시스템임을 확인하였다.

무선 망에서 단말기를 호출하기 위한 일차 페이징 지역인 LAI 의 설계는 페이징 채널의 트래픽 생성과 매우 밀접한 관련이 있다. 이 논문에서는 페이징 채널을 통과하는 호 제어 및 부가 기능 메시지를 통해 IS-95 CDMA 표준에 따른 페이징 채널이 용량을 실제 운용 상황에서 발생하는 트래픽 자료를 바탕으로 분석하고자 한다. 이 분석은 페이징 채널이 처리할 수 있는 LAI 의 적정 용량(Engineered Capacity)을 통하여, 기지제어국 및 기지국 시스템의 용량에 따른 망 계획의 중요한 기준을 제공한다.

This paper presents design and development of a simulator evaluates the performance of a hierarchical cellular system. The proposed hierarchical cellular simulator, consisting of macro, micro, and pico cells, applies the wrap-around technique to reduce simulation time. The simulator is implemented as object oriented class models by using the C++ language in a PC environment. The resulting application can evaluate the interference, SIR(Signal to Interference Ratio), and capacity of a hierarchical cellular system in various configurations. Moreover, it can be used in other applications such as power control, call admission control, hand over scheme.

스펙트럼 효율을 높이기 위해 기존의 마이크로파 협대역 시스템 위에 동일한 대역을 사용하는 셀룰라 CDMA 시스템을 오버레이시킨 환경에서, CDMA 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 협대역 시스템으로부터의 간섭을 제거하기 위해 최소 평균 자승 알고리즘을 적용한 선형 추정 필터를 사용하였다. 다중 경로 리시안 페이딩 채널로 특징 지워지는 개인 휴대 통신 채널에서의 성능을 분석함에 있어서, 원근단 문제를 해결하기 위한 전력 제어 기법 및 통화 인계, 다중, 경로 다이버시티 등을 고려하였다. 또한 인터리빙과 채널 부호화 기법을 사용하여 CDMA 시스템의 오율 성능을 분석하였다.

이동통신망에서 주파수라는 한정된 자원을 최적으로 활용하는 것은 중요한 일이며 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하는 환경에서는 더욱 더 절실한 요소이다. 또한 이런 서비스 요구에 따라 기지국이나 단말기에서 작업 스케줄링을 어떻게 하느냐 하는 것도 전체 시스템의 성능을 평가하는 중요한 요소이다. 이동망에서 서비스 별 채널할당은 핸드오프가 일어나는 시점에 빈번히 일어나며 전체 시스템에 큰 영향을 주게 된다. 본 논문에서는 음성과 데이터 호를 동시에 서비스하는 CDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 핸드오프를 중점으로 멀티미디어 서비스 트래픽 특성을 고려한 주파수할당과 작업 스케줄링이라는 두 가지 요소를 접목하는 방법론을 모델화하고 알고리즘을 제시한다.

본 연구에서는 차세대 CDMA 셀룰러 네트워크의 성능향상을 위한 멀티 데이터 전송 레이트 조절과 전력제어 문제를 결합한 문제를 제시하고 유전 알고리즘 접근에 기반한 새로운 해법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 알고리즘으로 많은 사용자를 보다 빨리 서비스 할 수 있고 SIR 제한값을 고려하면서 최적의 해를 얻을 수 있었다. 이 연구에서는 CDMA 셀룰러 네트워크의 데이터 전송 레이트를 최대화하는 적합도 문제와 가능한 모바일의 수를 최대화하는 적합도 문제 두 개를 고려하였으나 이 들을 결합한 문제나 다른 것 들에 대한 적합도 함수도 충분히 장착이 가능하다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 접근 방식의 유효성과 타당성을 보여준다.
