활성제 첨가에 따른 $ZnGa_2O_4$ 형광체의 발광특성 (Cathode Luminescence Characteristics of $ZnGa_2O_4$ Phosphors with the doped activator)

  • The $ZnGa_2O_4$:Cr phosphor was synthesized through solid-state reactions at the various molar ratio of Cr from 0.002 % to 0.01 %. The XRD patterns show that the Cr-doped $ZnGa_2O_4$ has a (311) main peak and a spinel phase. Also the emission wavelength shills from 510 to 705 nm in comparison with $ZnGa_2O_4$:Mn when Cr is doped in $ZnGa_2O_4$. These results indicate that $ZnGa_2O_4$ phosphors hold promise for potential applications in field-emission display devices with high brightness operating in full color regions.

  • Using the LOCOS process, we have fabricated the lateral type polysilicon field emission triodes with poly-Si/oxide/Si structure and investigated their current-voltage characteristics for three biasing modes of operation. The fabricated devices exhibit excellent electrical performances such as a relatively low turn-on anode voltage of 14 V at VGC = 0V, a stable and high emission current of 92${\mu}$A/triode over 90 hours, a small gate leakage current of 0.23 ${\mu}$A/triode and an outstanding transconductance of 57${\mu}$S/5triodes at VGC = 5V and VAC = 26V. these superior electrical operation is believed to be due to a large field enhancement effect, which is related to the sharp cathode tips produced by the LOCOS process as well as the high aspect ratio (height /radius ) of the cathode tip end.

  • Poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) is ionomer based on polystyrene that is electrical conductivity and isoviscosity. LiFePO4 has been a promising electrode material however its poor conductivity limits practical application. To enhance the electronic conductivity of LiFePO4, in this study we prepared LiFePO4- PSS composite by the hydrothermal method. LiFePO4 was heated at $170^{\circ}C$ for 12h and then different wt% PSS (0%, 2.91%, 4.75%, 7.36%, 10%) are added to LiFePO4 and milled at 300rpm for 10h. And then the obtained powders were subsequently heated at $500^{\circ}C$ for 1h under argon flow. The cathode electrode were made from mixtures of LiFePO4-PSS: SP-270- PVDF in a weighting ratio 75%: 25%:5%. The electrochemical properties of LiFePO4- PSS/Li batteries were analyzed by cyclic voltammetry and charge/discharge tests. LiFePO4-C/Li battery with 4.75 wt% PSS displays discharge capacity of 128 mAh g-1 at room temperature that is considerably higher than pure LiFePO4/Li battery ( 113.48 mAhg-1).

  • 스터퍼링 기술이 1852년 Grove에 의해서 최초 발견되어 1979년 Chapin에 의해서 planar magnetron cathode 개발로 진공코팅기술의 새로운 영역을 열게 되어 현재까지 디스플레이, 반도체, 태양전지, 광학산업 및 전자부품 등 나노 산업에 필수적으로 적용되고 있다. 스퍼터링 입자는 운동량 전달에 의한 것으로 운동량을 갖는 나노 스퍼터링 입자는 기판에 대한 박막의 부착력이 우수하고 대면적에 균일하고 재현성 있게 성막되는 특징을 갖고 있다. 마그네트론 스퍼터링 기술이 산업에 응용되면서 주로 4분야에서 많은 연구, 개발이 되어져 왔다. 첫째는 타겟의 고순도 및 고밀도화와 더불어 가격이 고가로 됨에 따라 타겟 사용효율의 향상이다. 플라즈마를 발생시키는 캐소드의 자기회로를 1차원, 2차원 및 회전운동을 통해서 사용효율을 향상시키고 있다. 둘째는 기판에 대해서 박막특성이 균일하도록 코팅하는 것이다. 디스플레이에서는 글래스 기판이 대면적으로 됨에 따라서 핸들링이 어려워져 여러 개의 캐소드 자기회로를 선형적으로 이동시켜 박막두께분포를 최적화하며 반응성 가스를 사용해서 균일한 특성의 박막을 제작하는 경우에는 가스분사관과 배기펌프계의 기하학적 위치 및 가스 유동학적 해석이 필요하다. 셋째는 스퍼터링 입자의 이온화로 의한 박막의 특성향상과 반도체 trench의 높은 aspect ratio hole을 채우는 것이다. 이온화 방법으로는 inductively coupled plasma (ICP), microwave amplified (MA), high power impulse (HIPI), hollow cathode magnetron (HCM), self-sustained sputtering 등이 사용되어져 왔으며 최근에는(neutral beam-assisted sputtering (NBAS)에 의한 박막특성향상 방법이 발표되고 있다. 넷째는 플라즈마 및 박막두께 시뮬레이션에 대해서 많은 발표가 되고 있다. 본 발표에서는 상기의 4 분야를 포함한 향후 개발방향에 대해서 소개할 예정이다.

Electrochemical Properties of Lithium Sulfur Battery with Silicon Anodes Lithiated by Direct Contact Method

  • It is hard to employ the carbon materials or the lithium metal foil for the anode of lithium sulfur batteries because of the poor passivation in ether-based electrolytes and the formation of lithium dendrites, respectively. Herein, we investigated the electrochemical characteristics of lithium sulfur batteries with lithiated silicon anode in the liquid electrolytes based on ether solvents. The silicon anodes were lithiated by direct contact with lithium foil in a 1M lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl) imide (LiTFSI) solution in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) and 1,3-dioxolane (DOL) at a volume ratio of 1:1. They were readily lithiated up to ~40% of their theoretical capacity with a 30 min contact time. In particular, the carbon mesh reported in our previous work was employed in order to maximize the performance by capturing the dissolved polysulfide in sulfur cathode. The reversible specific capacity of the lithiated silicon-sulfur batteries with carbon mesh was 1,129 mAh/g during the first cycle, and was maintained at 297 mAh/g even after 50 cycles at 0.2 C, without any problems of poor passivation or lithium dendrite formation.

  • This study is to research Li$_{x}$Ni$_{2-x}$O$_2$ cathode for lithium chargeable battery. We investigated morphology and cell resistance, capacity and Ah efficiency of Li$_{x}$Ni$_{2-x}$O$_2$/Li cells using Li$_{x}$Ni$_{2-x}$O$_2$ prepared under air and $O_2$ flow. The (003)I/(104)I intensity ratio was 1.4. The cell resistance was increased with increasing Li in Li$_{x}$Ni$_{2-x}$O$_2$. The discharge capacity based on Li$_{x}$Ni$_{2-x}$O$_2$of 1st and 15th cycles was 135㎃h/g and 108㎃h/g, respectively. Electrodeposition of Silicon from Fluorosilicic Acid Produced in Iraqi Phosphate Fertilizer Plant

  • The availability, low toxicity, and high degree of technological development make silicon the most likely material to be used in solar cells, the cost of solar cells depends entirely on cost of high purity silicon production. The present work was conducted to electrodeposite of silicon from $K_2SiF_6$, an inexpensive raw material prepared from fluorosilicic acid ($H_2SiF_6$) produced in Iraqi Fertilizer plants, and using inexpensive graphite material as cathode electrode. The preparation of potassium fluorosilicate was performed at ($60^{\circ}C$) in a three necks flask provided with a stirrer, while the electro deposition was performed at $750^{\circ}C$ in a three-electrodes configuration with melt containing in graphite pot. High purity potassium fluorosilicate (99.25%) was obtained at temperature ($60^{\circ}C$), molar ratio-KCl/$H_2SiF_6$(1.4) and agitation (600 rpm). Spongy compact deposits were obtained for silicon with purity not less than (99.97%) at cathode potential (-0.8 V vs. Pt), $K_2SiF_6$ concentration (14% mole percent) with grain size (130 ${\mu}m$) and level of impurities (Cu, Fe and Ni) less than (0.02%).

  • MgO film was deposited on the glass substrate by the hollow cathode discharge ion plating method and the characteristics of the MgO thin film such as deposition rate, crystalline orientation, surface morphology and secondary electron coefficient were investigated. The deposition rate of MgO thin films were $430^{\sim}1270{\AA}$/min at various temperatures and biases. The crystalline orientation of the MgO thin film changed from (200) to (220) upon increasing the HCD current from 100A to 200A. These results indicated that the crystallin orientation of the MgO thin film was determined by the super-saturation ratio. The (200) peak decreased and the (220) peak increased as the substrate bias increased, while both peaks increased as the substrate temperature increased. The grain size increased as the substrate bias increased and the secondary electron emission coefficient increased as the substrate bias increased.

  • We report on the rapid thermal annealing effect on the electrical, optical, and structural properties of IZO transparent conducting oxide films grown by box cathode sputtering (BCS). To investigate structural properties of rapid thermal annealed IZO films in $N_2$ atmosphere as a function of annealing temperature, syncrotron x-ray scattering experiment was carried out. It was shown that the amorphous structure of the IZO films was maintained until $400^{\circ}C$ because ZnO and $In_2O_3$ are immiscible and must undergo phase separation to allow crystallization. In addition, the IZO films grown at different Ar/$O_2$ ratio of 30/1.5 and 30/0 showed different preferred (222) and (440) orientation, respectively, with increase of rapid thermal annealing temperature. The electrical properties of the OLED with rapid thermal annealed IZO anode was degraded as rapid thermal annealing temperature of IZO increased. This indicates the amorphous IZO anode is more beneficial to make high-quality OLEDs.

  • Institute of Space and Astronautical Science of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(ISAS/JAXA) successfully developed and operated the microwave discharge ion engines onboard Hayabusa asteroid explorer. The ${\mu}10$ ion engines feature the cathode-less plasma generation in both the ion generators and neutralizers with the results of long life and high reliability in space. Based on the space achievements of ${\mu}10$ ion engines with 8mN thrust, 3,000sec Isp and 350W consumption power, several programs are currently under developments: ${\mu}20$, ${\mu}10$HIsp and ${\mu}1$. The first is a 20-cm diameter microwave discharge ion engine, aiming to achieve 30mN/kW in the thrustto-power ratio for the asteroid sample return mission larger than Hayabusa. The second is a high Isp version of ${\mu}10$, and exhausts the plasma beam over 10,000sec Isp using 15kV acceleration voltage for deep space missions to such as Jupiter and Mercury. The third is ${\mu}1$ to be adapted to small satellites for drag-free.
