In this research, we developed an efficient Hangul document classification system for text mining. We mean 'efficient' by maintaining an acceptable classification performance while taking shorter computing time. In our system, given a query document, k documents are first retrieved from the document case base using the k-nearest neighbor technique, which is the main algorithm of case-based reasoning. Then, TFIDF method, which is the traditional vector model in information retrieval technique, is applied to the query document and the k retrieved documents to classify the query document. We call this procedure 'CB_TFIDF' method. The result of our research showed that the classification accuracy of CB_TFIDF was similar to that of traditional TFIDF method. However, the average time for classifying one document decreased remarkably.

The necessity of diagnosis of the rotating machinery which is widely used in the industry is increasing. If rotating machinery has fault, we can detect fault using vibration or noise. But, in diagnosing rotating machinery, the end user who doesn't have expert knowledge needs the help of vibration diagnosis expert. However, vibration diagnosis experts who well satisfy the demand of end user are rare. So, this paper propose a development of the case-based reasoning system for abnormal vibration diagnosis of rotating machinery we construct the past experiences of vibration diagnosis expert into case base and shear the experiences of diagnosis expert with the end user. In this paper, we describe that process of structured system and adapting result of abnormal vibration diagnosis of electric motor.

This research is interested in organization members' knowledge contribution, along with the requirement for the effective knowledge management as a critical corporate asset. We consider the performance appraisal and reward system on knowledge sharing as a key issue for the successful knowledge management. Analyzed will be the interactive relationship among the performance appraisal and reward system, individual knowledge contribution, and organizational knowledge contribution effectiveness. This case study is based on in-depth interviews in the consulting industry recognized as a knowledge-integrated industry. The purpose of this research is to examine how firms evaluate and reward organization members' knowledge contribution, to define how fim1s utilize IT for the knowledge management, and to show how the performance appraisal and reward system influence organizational knowledge contribution effectiveness. Besides, other determinants for knowledge contribution effectiveness are defined. It is recognized that knowledge contribution effectiveness is positively related to non-monetary rewards and informal appraisals. As for the future study, we recommend the empirical research based on several propositions developed in this study.

This paper proposes a genetic algorithm (GA) approach to instance selection in case-based reasoning (CBR) for the prediction of Korea Stock Price Index (KOSPI). CBR has been widely used in various areas because of its convenience and strength in complex problem solving. Nonetheless, compared to other machine learning techniques, CBR has been criticized because of its low prediction accuracy. Generally, in order to obtain successful results from CBR, effective retrieval of useful prior cases for the given problem is essential. However, designing a good matching and retrieval mechanism for CBR systems is still a controversial research issue. In this paper, the GA optimizes simultaneously feature weights and a selection task for relevant instances for achieving good matching and retrieval in a CBR system. This study applies the proposed model to stock market analysis. Experimental results show that the GA approach is a promising method for instance selection in CBR.

사례 기반 추론(case-based reasoning)은 과거에 유사하게 수행된 적이 있는 사레를 유추하고, 유추된 사례의 해를 이용하여 현재의 문계를 해결하는 기법으로서 규칙 기반 추론과 함께 여러 분야에 이용되고 있다. 하지만 사례기반 추론시 사레베이스로부터의 유사성에 근거한 검색을 해야 하므로 사례베이스의 크기가 증가하게 되면 검색시간이 길어지게 되거나 적절하지 못한 사레가 조회될 수 있다 특히 사레베이스 내의 모든 사례에 대하여 유사도를 계산하게 되기 때문에 수행속도가 현저히 저하되는 문제점을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 규칙 및 퍼지 클러스터링에 의한 사레기반추론을 이용한 E-FFIS(Enhanced-Fire Fighting Intelligent System)를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 기존의 H-FFIS(Hybrid-Fire fighting Intelligent System)와 비교해 보았을 때 수행시간을 감소시키면서 정확성을 높이게 되었다.

Objective : This study reports the effect of Socheongryong-tang on Dyshidrotic Eczema. Methods : This is a case report on a patient who has been suffering from Dyshidrotic Eczema. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Socheongryong-tang was provided for 30 days. The severity of Dyshidrotic Eczema was evaluated by VAS and pictures. Results : When analyzing the patient's history and symptoms, it can be found in article No. 40 in Shanghanlun. The area and intensity of Dyshidrotic Eczema were reduced when viewed photos findings, so diagnosis and therapies showed valid results in Dyshidrotic Eczema. Conclusions : Socheongryong-tang is efficient to patient of this case report as a treatment.

Objectives : This case report presents the effect of Jisilchija-tang on hyperhidrosis. The patient was diagnosed with Eumyangyukchahoonobok-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Shanghanlun seven meridian patterns diagnostic system, we diagnosed the patient as Eumyangyukchahoonobok-byung and she has been suffering from hyperhidrosis. The patient was treated with Jisilchija-tang. and it was provided for 3 months. Results : After the treatment, the degree of hyperhidrosis reduced from 10 to 2 on VAS. Conclusions : This case study show an effectiveness of using Jisilchija-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on hyperhidrosis.

Objective : This study was performed to report two cases diagnosed with the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS) and treated with Jeodang-tang. Methods : Based on DPIDS, we analyzed two cases treated with Jeodang-tang. Results : In the first case, the bipolar depression rating scale (BDRS) score improved from 44 to 13. In the second case, the fatigue severity scale (FSS) score improved from 55 to 24. Conclusions : In Shanghanlun, Jeodang-tang may not only treat pattern/syndrome of blood stasis but also many other diseases.

Objective : This study reports the effect of Kyejiinsam-tang on Atopic Dermatitis. Methods : This is a case report on a patient who has been suffering from Atopic Dermatitis. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Kyejiinsam-tang was provided for 250 days. The severity of Atopic Dermatitis was evaluated by SCORAD index and pictures. Results : When analyzing the patient's history and symptoms, it can be found in article No. 163 in Shanghanlun. The area and intensity of Atopic Dermatitis were reduced when viewed photos findings, and SCORAD index decreased 58.1 to 7.1. So diagnosis and therapies showed valid results in Atopic Dermatitis. Conclusions : Kyejiinsam-tang is efficient to patient of this case report as a treatment.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the improvement of patient with pitting edema treated by herb medication based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Methods : According to 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions', the patient was diagnosed with Taeyang-byung, number 96 provision, and took Soshiho-tang herb medication 30days. The changing symptom of pitting edema is reported depended on the edema scale and the statement of patient during treatment. Results : The pitting edema of patient disappeared by 96 provision of Soshiho-tang seclected according to Shanghanlun provisions. Conclusions : This case report suggests that two words on the 96 provision of Shanghanlun, '或 心下悸, 小便不利'(palpitations below the heart, inhibited urination) indcate close relationship between palpitation and decrease of genital secretions, which affected the edema in this case.
