조명 조건에 강건한 스마트폰 카메라 맥박 측정을 위한 다이내믹 레인지 재구성 알고리즘 (Dynamic Range Reconstruction Algorithm for Smart Phone Camera Pulse Measurement Robust to Light Condition)

  • Recently, handy pulse measurement method was introduced by using smart phone camera. However, measured values are not consistent with the variations of external light conditions, because the external light interfere with dynamic range of captured pulse image. Thus, adaptive dynamic range reconstruction algorithm is proposed to conduct pulse measurement robust to light condition. The minimum and maximum values for dynamic ranges of green and blue channels are adjusted to appropriate values for pulse measurement. In addition, sigmoid function based curve is applied to adjusted dynamic range. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm conducts suitably dynamic range reconstruction of pulse image for the interference of external light sources.

  • This paper presents new approach to technology pattern recognition of camera back cover and test of soldering. In real-time implementing of pattern recognition camera back cover and test of soldering, the MVB-03 vision board has been used. Image can be captured from standard CCD monochrome camera in resolutions up to 640$\times$480 pixels. Various options re available for color cameras, a synchronous camera reset, and linescan cameras. Image processing os performed using Texas Instruments TMS320C31 digital signal processors. Image display is via a standard composite video monitor and supports non-destructive color overlay. System processing is possible using c30 machine code. Application software can be written in Borland C++ or Visual C++

  • 본 논문은 지문 영상의 전처리중 이진화 수행과정에서 지문 영상의 국부적 밝기 차이에 따른 가장 큰 애로점인 임계치(threshold value) 설정을 대상 지문 영역의 밝기 등에 스스로 적응할 수 있도록 Silt Sum 방법을 응용한 적을 이진화를 수행하였다. 기존의 방법과 비교하여 본 연구에서 제시한 개선된 전처리 방법은 보다 높은 인식 정확도를 제공하며, 이에 따라 실험 결과에서 보는 바와 같이 지문 인식을 위한 특징점 추출 알고리즘에 적용될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 지문센서 칩에서 추출된 건조한 지문이미지의 질을 향상시키기 위한 전하분할 방식의 용량성 회로를 제안하고 있다. 건조지문에서 지문표면의 저항이 크므로 이미지의 질에 저하를 가져온다. 건조지문에서 양질의 이미지를 획득하기 위해 수정된 회로가 제안되어 있고 이 회로는 센서표면에서 전하를 제어하기 위한 부가적인 센서플레이트를 적용하고 있다. 제안된 회로는 0.35마이크론 표준 CMOS 공정에서 검증되었다.

  • This paper introduces a visual inspecting and monitoring system based on an image processing technique. We propose an image processing method for analyzing landslide movement in real time. The method adopts Laplacian of Gaussian operator to extract linear features for the captured images and uses a linear matching algorithm to distinguish the matching error for those features. When the algorithm is processed, motion parameters such as displacement area and its direction are computed. Once movement is recognized, displacements are estimated graphically with statistical amount in the image plane. The simulation results are shown us to verify the effectiveness of the developed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a real-time surveillance system for security of important area such as military bases, prisons, and strategic infra structures. The proposed system recognizes the movement of objects in dark environments. First, the Multi-scale retinex (MSR) is processed to enhance the contrast of image captured in dark environments. Then, the enhanced input image is subtracted with the background image. Finally, each bounding box enclosing each objects are tracked. The center point of each bounding box obtained by the proposed algorithm provides more accurate tracking information. Experimental results show that the proposed system provides good performance even though an object moves very fast and the background is quite dark.

  • In this paper, a controller recognizing human gestures using EMG signal is shown. The tiny and band-type controller is developed for image training to excercise the specific area in the body, and uses a dry-type silver fiber electrode easy to be attached or detached itself to a skin. The captured EMG signals are converted to 10-bit digital values via amplification and frequency filtering processes within the controller, and are transmitted to the server by wireless. As the gesture recognition ratio using the proposed controller on biceps is up to 80%, we expect the practical potential of the controller is very promising.

  • Noncontact measuring methodology of 3-dimensional profile using CCD camera are very attractive because of it's high measuring speed and its's high sensitivity. Especially when projecting a grid pattern over the object, the captured image have 3 dimensional information of the object. Projection moire extract 3-D information with another grid pattern in front of CCD camera. However phase measuring profilometry(PMP) obtain similar results without additional grid pattern. In this paper, the projection moire are compared with the PMP mathematically, and it is shown that PMP can generate moire image with simple mathematical computations. Experimental works are also carried out showing the same results. It is shown that using a single gird pattern, moire image can be obtained directly without any mathematical operation when some conditions are satisfied.

  • The autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is being widely researched in order to achieve superior performance when working in hazardous environments. This research focuses on using image processing techniques to estimate the AUV's egomotion and the changes in orientation, based on image frames from different time frames captured from a single high-definition web camera attached to the bottom of the AUV. A visual odometry application is integrated with other sensors. An internal measurement unit (IMU) sensor is used to determine a correct set of answers corresponding to a homography motion equation. A pressure sensor is used to resolve image scale ambiguity. Uncertainty estimation is computed to correct drift that occurs in the system by using a Jacobian method, singular value decomposition, and backward and forward error propagation.

A Study on Intelligent Railway Level Crossing System for Accident Prevention

  • Accidents at level crossing have large portion on train accidents, and causes economical loss by train delay and operational interruption. Various safety equipments are employed to reduce the accident at level crossing, but existing warning device, and crossing barrier are simple train-oriented protection equipments. In this paper, intelligent railway level crossing system is proposed to prevent and reduce accidents. For train driver's prompt action, image of level crossing and obstacle warning message are continuously provided to train driver through wireless communication in level crossing control zone. Obstacle warning messages, which are extracted by computer vision processing of captured image at level crossing, are recognized by train driver through message color, flickering and warning sound. It helps train driver to decide how to take an action. Meanwhile, for vehicle driver's attention, location and speed of approaching train are given to roadside equipments. We identified the effect of proposed system through test installation at Sea train and Airport level crossing of Yeong-dong line.
