모세관 전지영동법에 의한 굴뚝에서 포집된 NaOH 용액속의 염소이온의 측정 (Determinaton of Chloride Ion Captured into Strong NaOH Solution from Chimney by Capillary Electrophoresis)

  • Determination of chloride ion in concentrated NaOH solution by capillary electrophoresis has been studied. The analysis was performed by indirect UV absorption detection using chromate buffer at 254nm. The matrix effect of the sample has been observed so that the sensitivity in strong NaOH solutaion has decreased up to 10% of that in distilled water. The pH effect of the sample on the sensitivity of CE peaks has been investigated. The method for increasing the sensitivity have been investigated and the optimum pH and concentration of the buffer were 7.5 and 10mM, respectively. A cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB), was added to a buffer solution in order to reverse the electroosmotic flow(EOF) in the capillary. This results in a short analysis time and better peak shapes. Using this optimum condition, the determination of chloride ion in real environmental sample has been performed, which is captured in strong NaOH absorbent prepared for absorbing gas from chimney. The standard addition method has been applied for the quantitative analysis, and it was obtained the good reproducibility.

Flow Characteristics of Neutrally Buoyant Particles in 2-Dimensional Poiseuille Flow through Circular Capillaries

  • An experimental study has been conducted to quantitatively characterize the motion of neutrally buoyant particles in 2-dimensional Poiseuille flow through the micron-sized circular capillaries in the range of Re (Reynolds number) $\approx0.1\sim100$. $A{\mu}-PTV$ (Particle Tracking Velocimetry) system is adopted, which consists of a double-headed Nd:YAG laser, an epi-fluorescence microscope and a cooled CCD camera. Since high shear rate can be induced due to the scale effect even at low Re, it is shown that in micro scale neutrally buoyant particles in Poiseuille flow drift away from the wall and away from the center of the capillary. Consequently, particles accumulate at the equilibrium position of $0.52\sim0.64R$ with R being the radius of the capillary, which is analogous to that of tube flow in macro scale. There is a plateau in equilibrium position at small Re, while equilibrium position starts increasing at $Re\approx30$. The outermost edge of particle cluster is closer to the center of the capillary than that in previous studies due to low Re effect. The present study quantitatively presents characteristics of particle motion in circular capillaries. Furthermore, it is expected to give optimum factors for designing microfluidic systems that are to be used fur plasma separation from the blood.

  • 캐피러리(Capillary)는 반도체 납땜에 사용되는 헤더 부분으로써 현재까지는 강철핀에 다이아몬드를 부착하여 가공하였으나 가공정밀도에서 매우 불량하였다. 본 논문에서는 스핀들, 콜렉트, 척부분을 변경하여 초음파에너지를 가할 수 있도록 하였으며 특히, 주파수추종방법을 이용한 발진부 제어를 통해 부하단의 변화에도 대처할 수 있도록 하였으며 캐피러리(Capillary)의 가공을 최적화 하기 위해 혼과 진동자의 무게를 이용할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 방법을 사용하여 실험한 결과 캐피러리(Capillary) 조도면은 우수한 특성을 나타냈음을 확인했으며 현장에서 직접 사용할 수 있는 시스템을 제시하였다.

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigated the effect of refrigerant flow control on the performance of a variable-speed heat pump operating in both cooling and heating mode. For this purpose, cooling and heating capacity, EER and refrigerant mass flow rate corresponding to an electronic valve as well as a capillary tube were measured as functions of compressor speed, length of capillary tube (or valve opening of the electronic valve), refrigerant charge, and outdoor temperature. From the comparison of experimental results, it was found that the performance variation due to the electronic valve opening became significant as the operating conditions(outdoor temperature and compressor speed) deviated from the standard condition at which heating capacity and EER were rated for the indicated capillary tube.

  • 비포화 흐름에서 모세관 이력현상의 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 선행강우가 존재하는 지표면 경계조건하에서 이력현상을 고려한 경우와 고려하지 않은 경우에 대하여 종속변수가 모세관 압력수두인 Richards식을 수치해석하여 습윤전선의 전진 경향, 함수량 재분포현상, 침투율, 누가침투량 등을 비교 검토하였다. 비포화 흐름을 해석할 때 모세관 이력현상의 영향은 무시되어질 수 없고, 보다 정확한 비포화흐름의 해석은 이력현상을 고려함으로써 얻어질 수 있다. 만약 비포화 흐름을 해석할 때 이력현상을 고려할 수 없다면, 주마름곡선보다 주젖음곡선을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다.

  • This study is focused on the experimental analysis of the noise induced by phase change of refrigerant at the entrance of capillary tube. The refrigerant is usually two-phase condition when it flowed into the capillary tube. At the entrance of capillary tube, the phase condition of refrigerant is formed by sub-cool control. If it has sufficient sub-cool temperature, all of the vapor refrigerants turned to liquid, which means there is only liquid. Otherwise, the gas is coexisted. Based on this theory, we experiment on each case by changing sub-cool temperature using refrigerant-supplying equipment. The noise level is measured for each case and compared.

Determination of Total Phenols in Environmental Waters by Capillary-HPLC with U.S.E.P.A. Classified Eleven Priority Pollutant Phenols after Nitrosation and Their Visible Spectrophotometric Detection

  • The determination of total phenols was accomplished by capillary-high performance liquid chromatography (capillary-HPLC) after nitrosation of the U.S.E.P.A. classified 11 priority pollutant phenols, using the nitrosated parent phenol (POHNO) as a reference for calibration. The optimum mobile phase composition for this analysis was found by examining the effect of changing the percentage of acetonitrile (MeCN) in the mobile phase on retention factors (k values) and peak intensities. As MeCN percentage was increased, k values were reduced and peak intensities were generally increased. From the results obtained, it was found that the optimum mobile phase was 90%(v/v) MeCN solution at pH 8.0, the detection wavelength of 400 nm, and a detection limit (D.L., concentration at signal to noise ratio (S/N) of 3.0) of 4.5 ${\times}$ $10^{-7}$ M. In addition, 10 of the 11 phenols present in mineral or waste water were separated after the nitrosation by capillary-HPLC. The optimum mobile phase for separation was a 40%(v/v) MeCN solution at pH 5.0.

모세관 단면 형상에 따른 계면 및 증발 특성 (Geometry Effects of Capillary on the Evaporation from the Meniscus)

  • The effect of capillary cross-section geometry on evaporation is investigated in terms of the meniscus shape, evaporation rate and evaporation-induced flow for circular, square and rectangular cross-sectional capillaries. The shapes of water and ethanol menisci are not much different from each other in square and rectangular capillaries even though the surface tension of water is much larger than that of ethanol. On the other hand, the shapes of water and ethanol menisci are very different from each other in circular capillary. The averaged evaporation fluxes in circular and rectangular capillaries are measured by tracking the meniscus position. At a given position, the averaged evaporation flux in rectangular capillaries is much larger than that in circular capillary with comparable hydraulic diameter. The flow near the evaporating meniscus is also measured using micro-PIV, so that the rotating vortex motion is observed near the evaporating ethanol and methanol menisci except for the case of methanol meniscus in rectangular capillary. This difference is considered to be due to the existence of corner menisci at the four comers.

  • 인공 건식 접착 구조를 위한 새로운 마이크로-나노 계층구조 제작기법을 제안하였으며, 모세관법을 활용한 마이크로 구조 내 나노 소재 정렬에 대한 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 다중 벽 탄소나노튜브(MWCNT)와 폴리디메틸실록산(PDMS) 혼합물의 제작 조건에 따른 경화도 및 점도 특성을 분석하고, 이로부터 몇 가지 제작 조건을 결정하였다. MWCNT-PDMS 마이크로 구조 제작 후 단면 분석을 통해 PDMS내 MWCNT의 정렬 특성을 분석한 결과, 제작 온도와 상대 경화도가 낮을 경우 MWCNT의 정렬도가 우수하며, 단위 면적당 MWCNT의 밀도는 제작 온도나 상대 경화도에 영향을 적게 받는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • ?In order to investigate effects of Zanthoxyli Fructus (Sample-A) and Fagarae mandshuricae Fructus (Sample-B), experimental study was performed through observation on isolated - ileum analgesic, hypothermal, anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, capillary permeability, blood flow rate, blood pressure and respiratory works. The results were as follows; 1. In spontaneous movement of mice isolated-ileum, both samples were noted to have strong inhibitory action after temporary contraction, and to show antagonism against acetylcholine chloride and barium chloride. 2. Both samples were showed to have antihistamin work on guinea pig isolated-ileum 3. In analgesic work by the acetic acid method, only Fagarae mandshuricae Fructus was proved to have significant analgesic effect in mice. 4. Both sample groups indicated anti-pyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. 5. Both samples were noted to have inhibitory effect against capillary permeability ?rise in mice. ?6. Both samples were noted to have dose-dependent falling effect on blood pressure in rabbits.
