Feedback Voltage Detection 구조 및 향상된 과도응답 특성을 갖는 LDO regulator (LDO Regulator with Improved Transient Response Characteristics and Feedback Voltage Detection Structure)

  • 피드백 전압 감지 구조는 기존 외부 출력 캐패시터의 제거로 인한 오버슈트 및 언더슈트 현상을 완화하기 위해 제안된다. 기존의 LDO 레귤레이터는 전원 공급 전압의 불균형으로 인해 발생하는 오버슈트 및 언더슈트를 겪는다. 따라서 제안된 LDO는 기존 LDO의 피드백 경로만 유지하면서 새로운 제어 경로를 형성하기 위해 보다 개선된 과도 응답을 갖도록 설계되었다. 새로운 제어 경로는 출력 단계에서 발생하는 오버슈트 및 언더슈트 현상을 감지한다. 이에, 패스 소자의 게이트 노드의 전류를 충방전함으로써 패스 소자의 동작 속도가 향상된다. 피드백 전압 감지 구조가 있는 LDO 레귤레이터는 3.3~4.5V의 입력 전압 범위에서 작동하며 3V의 출력 전압에서 최대 200mA의 부하 전류를 가집니다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 따르면 부하전류가 200mA일 때 언더슈트 조건에서는 73mV, 오버슈트 조건에서는 61mV이다.

A Control Strategy Based on Small Signal Model for Three-Phase to Single-Phase Matrix Converters

  • This paper presents a novel close-loop control scheme based on small signal modeling and weighted composite voltage feedback for a three-phase input and single-phase output Matrix Converter (3-1MC). A small non-polar capacitor is employed as the decoupling unit. The composite voltage weighted by the load voltage and the decoupling unit voltage is used as the feedback value for the voltage controller. Together with the current loop, the dual-loop control is implemented in the 3-1MC. In this paper, the weighted composite voltage expression is derived based on the sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) strategy. The switch functions of the 3-1MC are deduced, and the average signal model and small signal model are built. Furthermore, the stability and dynamic performance of the 3-1MC are studied, and simulation and experiment studies are executed. The results show that the control method is effective and feasible. They also show that the design is reasonable and that the operating performance of the 3-1MC is good.

  • This paper proposes a new SSHG(Sag/swell and Harmonic Generator) injecting voltage by using series inverter. The proposed SSHG composes series inverter, DC capacitor as energy storage, rectifier and voltage clamp circuit. This SSHG is designed to generate typical power disturbances, such as voltage sag/swell, over/under voltage and voltage flicker. Also it is designed to generate unexpected voltage phase jumping waveform by controlling the series inverter. In this paper, three kinds of control methods for the proposed 2MVA SSHG are given. Typical voltage sag and swell waveforms are implemented by adopting simple control method. Also the voltage flicker is generated by changing the amplitude of the injected voltage in random. Owing to the limited bandwith of the proposed SSHG, high frequency transient waveforms can be obtained by using the open loop control. The simulation and experimental results are given to verify the operation of the proposed SSHG, Finally, conclusions are given.

  • Recently, the real time simulator to develop the inverter drive board and motor control algorithm for high power induction motor and PM synchronous motor is required. In this paper, the real time simulator based on the voltage control for a PM synchronous motor is proposed. The resistor, inductor, and the induced voltage for the modeling of a PM synchronous motor is implemented by the power converter including the LCL filter and the PWM rectifier. The induced voltage of a PM synchronous motor is simulated by the capacitor voltage of the LCL filter, which is controlled by PI voltage controller and the deadbeat current controller. The operation and the simulated characteristics of the proposed real time simulator for a PM synchronous motor is verified by the simulation.

A Novel-Type Velocity-controllable Electromagnetic Coil Launcher based on Voltage Control

  • This paper will present the design of a novel-type velocity-controllable electromagnetic coil launcher (EMCL). By studying the influence of initial capacitor voltage on the velocity of an EMCL, the launcher voltage can be set to precisely adjust the velocity of projectile launching. The simulation of voltage and velocity in relation to time is obtained by Maxwell software. The experimental data show that for the launch accuracy to be achievable, the actual precision is 2%. Because of the excellent performance of Velocity-controllable EMCL, it can replace the air gun and applied to split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB).

  • CVR은 계통의 전압을 감소시켜 소비 전력을 줄이는 기술로, 과거 많은 실증과 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 최근, SCADA 기반 또는 AMI 기반의 VVC가 개발되면서 CVR이 중요한 운영 방식이 되었다. CVR은 다양한 계측기를 사용하여 폐루프 제어(closed loop control)방식으로 최적 VVC제어 지령치를 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 전압 계측기반 CVR제어 알고리즘 개발 및 검증을 위한 RTDS-MATLAB 연동 환경을 구현하였다. RTDS를 이용하여 배전 계통의 전압제어기기들을 모델링하고 MATLAB으로 RTDS의 모의 계통의 전압을 계측하고 제어할 수 있는 제어기를 구성하였다. 무효전력 제어기기인 캐패시터는 계통의 전압을 평탄화하고 계통의 전압 기반으로 OLTC의 탭 제어를 하여 계통의 전압을 낮추는 제어 알고리즘을 MATLAB을 통해 구현하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안한 시스템을 검증하였다.

  • Using the classical cascade voltage control strategy, this paper proposes an analytical solution to an MPC (Model Predictive Control) problem with a hexagonal input constraint set for the inner-loop to regulate the output voltage of the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Focus is placed on how to deal with the hexagonal input constraint set without any approximation. Following the conventional cascade voltage control strategy, the PI (Proportional-Integral) controller is used in the outer-loop in order to regulate the output voltage. The simulation results illustrate that the capacitor voltage rapidly goes to its reference in a satisfactory manner while keeping other state variables bounded under an unexpected load changes.

  • This paper proposes a new DC link voltage controller for a single-phase power factor correction (PFC) boost converter. The load current of the PFC boost converter affects the capacitor current, whereas the load current changes the output voltage. However, previous works that compensate output current have failed to consider the relationship between load current and duty. Thus, they also fail to maintain a constant output voltage if the load fluctuates under the conditions of a non-rated input voltage. By considering the duty in the load current compensation, the proposed method improves the load transient response regardless of the input voltage. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the proposed method is compared with other control methods by conducting PSM simulations and experiments under a rapidly changing load.

  • Installation of FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) device can maximize utilization of existing power facilities and reliability of power system. STATCOM has excellent characteristics in operating cost, maintaining facilities, loss and so on. However, STATCOM has a disadvantage of facility cost over capacity. So it is effective to coordinate STATCOM and existing external bank(capacitor and reactor) and OLTC(On Load Tap Changer). This paper mainly proposes coordinative control method between STATCOM installed within substation and other reactive power resources including Shunt Reactors and Shunt Capacitors and OLTC for voltage stability improvement. The proposed coordinative control method is developed for the STATCOM of Mi-gum substation and the simulation results of EMTP/RV model show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Two-loop Hysteretic Control of $3^{rd}$ Order Buck Converter

  • In this paper, an analysis and hysteretic controller design of a $3^{rd}$ order buck converter is presented. The proposed hysteretic controller consists of an inner current-loop, just like the conventional cascade control scheme, and an outer voltage-loop for load voltage regulation. Although it is possible to include an inner current loop from different branches of the converter, from the feasibility and operational point of view, the load side capacitor current would be the better choice. The addition of an inner current-loop improves the dynamic performance of the converter while preserving the robustness of the hysteretic control. The controller formulation and closed-loop converter performance analysis are validated through computer simulations. Few experimental results of the proposed converter are given and compared with the buck converter.
