초음파가 가진된 유체유동의 PIV계측에 의한 연구 (A Study on the Fluid Flew with Ultrasonic Forcing by PIV Measurement)

  • A study on the fluid flow with ultrasonic forcing is carried out to obtain data for the turbulence enhancement. A large water tank is made of the transparent acrylic plates and a horizontal flow field is given by setting two acrylic tubes to face mutually on a horizontal line. A 2-dimensional PlV system which is composed of a continuous-output 4W Argon-ion laser, a high-speed video camera, a PC based by an image grabber and a high resolution monitor is used to investigate characteristics of the complex turbulence flow field. And a 2MHz ultrasonic transducer is used fur ultrasonic vibration forcing. Some experiments are carried out at Reynolds numbers of 2,000 and 4,000 and at 7 angles of ultrasonic incidence. In results, the flew velocity vector distribution, kinetic energy and turbulence intensity in both cases of with and without ultrasonic forcing are examined, compared and discussed by using PIV measurement. It is clarified that the ultrasonic forcing into flow field is valid to obtain the turbulence enhancement.

  • The dark-field laser scattering system has been developed to inspect surface defects in infrared cut-off filters and then laser scattering characteristics against the defects are investigated. The qualitative analysis for the reliable and accurate detection performance is described through the correlation between incident angles of a laser and viewing ones of a camera. In this paper, reliable and important information with laser scattering is given for the surface defect inspection of IR filters. Its performance has been verified through various experiments.

SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES OF STARBURST GALAXIES ; THE DYNAMICAL STRUCTURE OF BLUE COMPACT DWARF CALAXY HARO 6

  • We carried out photometric and spectroscopic observatious of the blue compact dwarf galaxy Haro 6 in the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies. The long-slit spectroscopy was employed at three position angles, $\Phi$=$0^{\circ}$, $\Phi$=$30^{\circ}$, and $\Phi$=$120^{\circ}$with CCD camera mounted on the Cassegrain Spectrograph. Based on the mean intrinsic axial ratio < $q_0$ >=0.3, we derived inclination I of the system as $44^{\circ}$using our composite V-band CCD image. Careful analysis on the velocity field of the system shows an asymptotically fiat rotation curve with the maximum rotational velocity $V(r)_{max}$ reaches about 12km/sec. The calculation of the dynamical mass of Haro 6 with a simple mass model is briefly discussed with emphasis on the mass to luminosity ratio. From the IRAS Point Source Cataloque, we derived dust-to-gas ratio which indicates relatively low dust content, thus tempting us to conjecture the youth of the system.

  • The experimental model of the 8-view stereoscopic display system using the photopolymer-based VHOE is proposed. At first, the VHOE is implemented by angle-multiplexed recording of 8-view's diffraction gratings using the optimized exposure-time scheduling scheme in the photopolymer (HRF-150-100) and then. the VHOE-based 8-view stereoscopic display system is implemented by sequentially synchronizing the incident angles of the reference beam of the VHOE with the 8-view stereo images on the LCD pannel. Accordingly, from some experimental results using 8-view images generated by the toed-in stereo camera system, it is found that 8-view stereo images can be diffracted to eight different directions time-sequentially and there is some disparity between the stereo images.

  • In this paper, experimental study on the wan impingement spray of the common-rail diesel injector is performed. To examine the effect of various factors on the development of spray impinging on the wall, experiments were conducted at the various injection pressures. ambient pressures, wan distances from the injector tip, wall temperatures, and angles of wall inclination. The behaviors of the impingement spray ate visualized by using laser sheet methods and a ICCD camera. It is shown that the spray path penetration of the wall impingement spray increases with the increase of injection pressure, wall distance. wall temperature, wall angle. On the other hand the spray path penetration of the wan impingement spray decreases with the increase of ambient pressure.

  • A new approach to the task of aligning a robot using camera is presented in this paper. We apply an elitist GA to find the joints angles of manipulator to reach target position instead of using nonlinear least error method. Since it employs parallel search and have good performance in solving optimization problems. In order to improve convergence speed, the floating coding method and geometry constraint conditions are used. Experiments are carried out to exhibit the effectiveness of vision-based control using elitist genetic algorithm.

  • The main purpose of this paper is the development of the system which measures the earing rate of aluminum CAN with the CCD camera. In order to optimize imput image, the image object was segregated and the position of the image grasped. In the pre-processing the edges were detected by the Robert mask after improving the definition of image by the histogram equalization. The height of four each ear and angles which occur due to the characteristics of the aluminum CAN are measured manually with the digital vernier calipers in the industrial ground and in the case of the velocity, these require 30 seconds at least by three times measurement per height of one direction of the aluminum. But it took 0.02 seconds when this system was applied. Therefore this system is proven the satisfactory efficiency and reliability as compared to the control result of in industrial ground.

스파크 점화 엔진에서 초기화염 발달의 가시화 (Visualization of Initial Flame Development in an SI Engine)

  • Initial flame development and propagation were visualized under different fuel injection timings to relate the initial flame development to the engine stability in a port injection SI engine. Experiments were performed in an optical single cylinder engine modified from a production engine and images were captured through the quartz window mounted in the piston by an intensified CCD camera. Stratification state was controlled by varying injection timing. Under each injection condition, the flame images were captured at the pre-set crank angles. These were averaged and processed to characterize the flame. The flame stability was estimated by the weighted average of flame area, luminosity, and standard deviation of flame area. Results show that stratification state according to injection timing did not affect on the direction of flame propagation. The flame development and the initial flame stability are strongly dependent on the stratified conditions and the initial flame stability governs the engine stability and lean misfire limit.

Panoramic Image Stitching Using Feature Extracting and Matching on Embedded System

  • Recently, one of the areas where research is being actively conducted is the Internet of Things (IoT). The field of using the Internet of Things system is increasing, coupled with a remarkable increase of the use of the camera. However, general cameras used in the Internet of Things have limited viewing angles as compared to those available to the human eye. Also, cameras restrict observation of objects and the performance of observation. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a panoramic image stitching method using feature extraction and matching based on an embedded system. After extracting the feature of the image, the speed of image stitching is improved by reducing the amount of computation using the necessary information so that it can be used in the embedded system. Experimental results show that it is possible to improve the speed of feature matching and panoramic image stitching while generating a smooth image.

  • 애니메이션에서 움직임의 표현은 작품을 형성하는 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다. 동작표현과 타이밍의 상호작용은 시각예술인 애니메이션을 이해하고 창작하는 기본적인 요소이며 이때 타이밍(Timing)이란 물체나 캐릭터가 움직이기 위해 소요되는 시간의 양을 말한다. 이 논문에서는 스톱모션 애니메이션의 에서의 타이밍의 기본원리를 밝히고 실험을 동해 카메라의 각도에 따라 변하는 타이밍을 실험, 비교하여 이상적인 타이밍 방법을 제시하고자 한다.
