  • The method to obtain four speckle patterns with relative phase shift of ${\pi}/2$ by passive devices such as two waveplates and a linear polarizer, awl to calculate the phase at each point of the speckle pattern in shearography with a Wollaston prism is presented, and the feasibility of the proposed method is theoretically demonstrated by Jones vector.

  • The BINSYN program package, recently expanded to calculate synthetic spectra of cataclysmic variables, is being further extended to include synthetic photometry of ordinary binary stars in addition to binary stars with optically thick accretion disks. The package includes a capability for differentials correction optimization of eclipsing binary systems using synthetic photometry.

  • Using the solution to th contour integral of the complex logarithmic function ${\oint}_cIn(z-z_{0})dz$, the following definite integral, derived from the formula to calculate the forces exerted to n circular cylinder by the discrete vortices shed from it, has been evaluated (equation omitted)

  • In this paper, we calculate the precise estimation of range of a Gateaux differentiable operator, and apply to the existence of a periodic solution of the second order nonlinear differential equation $$z^{{\prime}{\prime}}+Az^{\prime}+G(z)=e(t)=e(t+2{\pi})$$.

  • In this paper, we simulate power system transient stability using object-oriented programming(OOP). OOP is a more flexible method than procedual programming. There are several advantages in dynamic system simulation using OOP. We also calculate critical fault clearing time using energy functions for detailed models.

  • We consider the finite dam with compound Poisson inputs which is called M/G/1 finite dam. We assign some costs related to operating the dam and calculate the long-run average cost per unit time. Then, we find the optimal dam capacity under which the average costs is minimized.
