A Feasibility Study for the Development of Dental Technology curriculum (Focusing on Daegu-Gyeongbuk Area) (치기공과 교육과정의 타당성에 관한 연구 - 대구.경북지역을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for the development of appropriate training courses for a rapidly changing digital technology in the field of Dental technology. Methods: The subjects of this study were dental technicians, dental technology students, a professor of dental technology in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area and a self-administered structured questionnaire survey was conducted for 350 randomly selected people. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 17.0 statistics program and analysis techniques include the frequency, percentage and cross-analysis. Results: The results of the survey are as follows. The usefulness of Major subjects was Full Denture laboratory (4.72 points), Dental Morphology (4.71 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the instructor's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.56 points), Full Denture (4.36 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the student's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.58 points), Dental Morphology laboratory (4.34 points), Partial Denture laboratory (4.30 points) in the dental technician's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 91.2% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the instructor's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 90.0% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the student's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 91.2% and Implant laboratory was very useful (90.2%) in the dental technician's group. Conclusion: Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (85.1%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 94.1% in the instructor's group. 87.0% of students need to open CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory in the third year first semester, Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 85.0% in the student's group. Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (81.0%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 80.0% in the dental technician's group.

  • This study is aimed to analyze present states of computer education in interior design dept. and therefore to offer basic data in order to establish middle and long term plan on computer education. According to results of analysis, computer education course accounts for 10.1 percent in total curriculum. But this component ratio has great difference between university and jumopr college. Namely computer education course of college is much more weighter than that of university. It seems to be results from college's characteristic strategies. But this results to unsuitable curriculum allocation. To solve this problem, further examination of linking computer's course with drafting and drawing course should be required. And to heighten more effect of computer education, other circumstance as well as educational facility should be improved and common CAD laboratory should be produced.

  • The efficiency of internet lectures has been proved in many areas, and its significance and role theory has been consistently mentioned in the fields of furniture design education that demand a large amount of educational contents and practice in visual education. However, it reveals weaknesses without satisfying the demand owing to various realistic issues. In this study, the significance and developmental process of internet lecture as well as its effect after the development in terms of the education on furniture design were analyzed by counting some development cases of internet educational program in relation with AutoCAD educational course, a computer design program for furniture design. Also through such analysis, it intended to promote the development of design education by assessing the merits and problems, assignments to be supplemented, and utilization of the educational course development.

  • In this study, it was intended to present solution for learners to understand and utilize photogrammetry more easily using economic medium except expensive measuring equipment. For this, 3D point data was analysed by generating event to stereo image on monitor, and input to CAD system automatically. so, real time vector editing and drawing with coordinates measurement were possible. The system was verified, and the monitoring for real construction was performed. so, it is expected to be utilized as a practical use software in related fields.

  • The purpose of this study is development of 'F1 in Schools Program' for elementary school student and validation of the program. Fifteen students were originally chosen from the W elementary school in Cheongju, Chungcheogbuk-Do. The children were tested on their understanding of science and 'F1 in Schools Program'. After developing the 'F1 in Schools Program', it was used in the classroom to evaluate applicability and to examine the responses from students, parents and schools. The program consists of 60 classes and the time of each class is 40 minutes. This study was conducted for 10 days from January 22nd, 2007 to February 2nd, 2007. CAD(Computer Aided Design), CFD(Computation Fluid Dynamics), CAM(Computer Aided manufacturing) and CNC Machine were used in this study and proved to be good materials for students in that they increased the students' participation and imagination. However, the children's cognitive and creative abilities as well as manuals written in English hampered the process. Most students, parents, schools seemed to be satisfied with use of the program. However, the schools showed that there was not enough understanding of the program as a whole. The processes with which students build and inspect using the $CO_2$Model Car not only improves the processing of the model but also enhanced the students scientific understanding related to the car speed.

  • The investment of BTL(Build-Transfer-Lease) projects for the educational facilities has been increased since 2005. However, many trial errors and problems have been occurring due to the lack of inspection criteria in maintenance cost for the lift cycle of the facilities. Thus, purpose of this study is to derive regression equation for the daily inspection and the regular inspection through analysis of CAD data in order to set the inspection criteria. It is possible to calculate economical maintenance cost of BTL project in educational facilities using criteria of inspection time through the regression equation developed in this study.

  • Current maintenance costs of the educational facilities have been determined by the years of services according to their foundation year. However, these maintenance costs have not considered maintenance and repairing. Therefore, this study suggests a new method to recalculate the years of services of schools by using the data of maintenance and repairing which is stored in the CAD drawing of the educational facilities. Also, since the data of maintenance and repairing has to be kept only for 5 years, the data is limited for the BTL project which has a maintenance period of 20 years. Thus, this study developed a new model to expand 5 years' data to the period of 20 years. This proposed model is expected to contribute in the maintenance and repairing of the BTL project.

  • The main objective of this research is to develop an experimental educational facility management information system that will be used for maintaining existing educational facilities in the elementary, junior high, and high schools. The development is based on the nationwide development plan of the education administration information system. The system developed is accomplished by use of Map-application Information System(MAPIS), an applied commercial software that combines Geographic Information System(GIS) with existing Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) such as Database system, Multimedia methodology, and Internet system. In order to figure out the features to be improved in the system developed, the research interviewed the educational facilities management in the Ministry of Education and P Local Education Authority. The authors suggest the functional improvement of the system based on the interview results.

  • A Shipbuilding design program used in the shipbuilding industry tends to be shifted from the TRIBON software to the AM(AVEVA MARINE) software these days. Many large domestic shipbuilding companies have been using the AM instead of the TRIBON. New design software requires education programs for the necessary personnel. However the education programs for the AM are largely based on offline education. They suffer from constraints in space and time, and from high costs. This paper describes a development of online contents for the AM software that are focused for cyber education. It covers the applied process and the organization of the contents. The details of the development decisions including the security issue for the contents are described also.

  • 최근 문화, 예술, 과학 등 많은 분야에 걸쳐 컴퓨터 그래픽의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 특히 컴퓨터 그래픽의 한 분야인 3D 그래픽은 영화, 광고, 게임, 교육 CAD/CAM, 과학적 가시화 등 많은 분야에서 널리 쓰이면서 그 중요성이 더욱 커졌다. 그러나 이와 관련된 국내 기술력은 외국의 기술력에 비해 많이 뒤쳐진 상태다. 국내의 컴퓨터 그래픽관련 기술력을 세계적인 수준으로 끌어올리기 위해 연구에 매진하고 있는 서강대학교 컴퓨터그래픽스연구실의 임인성 교수님을 만나보았다.
