  • This study was carried out to develop an immunoassay for the diagnosis of the pregnancy and ovarian function of domestic animals. Using 2E92C10 monoclonal antibody(McAb) generated against estrone-3-glucuronide(E1-3-G) and appeared a high cross-reactivity with estrone-3-sulfate(E1-3-S), chemiluminesence immunoassay (CIA) to detect E1-3-S was developed. 2E92C10 McAb cross-reacted with E1-3-S (30%) was purified from ascites fluid using protein G sepharose gel column. The purity of purified antibody fraction was monitored by SDS-PAGE and was better compared to that of crude ascite fluid. The soild and liquid phase CIA for E1-3-S were established utilizing 2E92C10 antibody and E1-3-G-ABEI conjugate used as a tracer. As the results, the titer of 2E92C10 antibody was 5g/ml in soild phase and 1:2000 in liquid phase. The sensitivity on soild and solid phase CIA were about 200 pg/ml. These results indicate that CIA for measurement of E1-3-S was successfully developed by using ant-E1-3-G McAb cross-reacted with E1-3-S and could be usefully used to research this area.

  • Ni/SiC Schottky diodes have been fabricated using epitaxial 4H-SiC and 6H-SiC wafers. The epitaxial n-type layers were grown on $n^{+}$ substrates, with a doping density of 4.0$\times$10$^{16}$ c $m^{-3}$ and a thickness of 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Oxide-termination has been adopted in order to obtain high breakdown voltage and low leakage current. The fabricated Ni/4H-SiC and Ni/6H-SiC Schottky barrier diodes show excellent rectifying characteristics up to the measured temperature range of 55$0^{\circ}C$. In case of oxide-terminated Schottky barrier diodes, breakdown voltage of 973V(Ni/4H-SiC) and 920V(Ni/6H-SiC), and a very low leakage current of less than 1nA at -800V has been observed at room temperature. On non-terminated Schottky barrier diodes, breakdown voltages were 430V(Ni/4H-SiC) and 160v(Ni/6H-SiC). At room temperature, SBH(Schottky Barrier Height), ideality factor and specific on-resistance were 1.55eV, 1.3, 3.6$\times$10$^{-2}$ $\Omega$.$\textrm{cm}^2$ for Ni/4H-SiC Schottky barrier diodes, and 1.24eV, 1.2, 2.6$\times$10$^{-2}$$\Omega$.$\textrm{cm}^2$/ for Ni/SH-SiC Schottky barrier diodes, respectively. These results show that both Ni/4H-SiC and Ni/6H-SiC Schottky barrier diodes are very promising for high-temperature and high power applications.s..

  • We have performed DFT calculations to devise some possible fullerene dimers (from $C_{60}$ and $C_{80}$) connected through $C_{24}$ and $C_{36}$ bridge cages with the face-to-face linking model. The fullerene dimers with $C_{36}$ bridges have lower binding energies and greater HOMO-LUMO gaps than those of the fullerene dimers with $C_{24}$ bridges. Also, the replacement of $C_{60}$ cages with $C_{80}$ ones always leads to an increase in binding energies and HOMO-LUMO gaps in these systems. Dimerization of $C_{60}$ and $C_{80}$ fullerenes with $C_{24}$ and $C_{36}$ results in a significant decrease in antiaromaticity of the antiaromatic cages $C_{24}$ and $C_{80}$, and an increase in the aromaticity of the aromatic cages $C_{36}$ and $C_{60}$. Therefore, DFT results indicate that those fullerene dimers involving the initially harshly antiaromatic $C_{24}$ or $C_{80}$ cages are more energetically favorable configuration than the fullerene dimers involving the aromatic $C_{36}$ and $C_{60}$ cages.

  • Garnet has been considered as a possible matrix for the immobilization of radioactive actinides. It is expected that Febased garnet be able to have the high substitution ability of actinide elements because ionic radius of Fe in tetrahedral site is larger than that of Si of Sibased garnet. Accordingly, we synthesized Fegarnet with the batch composition of $Ca_{2,5}$C $e_{0.5}$Z $r_2$F $e_3$ $O_{12}$ and $Ca_2$CeZrFeF $e_3$ $O_{12}$ and studied their phase relations and properties. Mixed samples were fabricated in pellet forms under the pressure of 400 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and were sintered in the temperature range of 1100∼140$0^{\circ}C$ in atmospheric conditions. Phase identification and chemical composition of synthesized samples were analyzed by XRD and SEM/EDS. In results, where the compounds were sintered at 130$0^{\circ}C$, we optimally obtained Fegarnets as the main phase, even though some minor phases like perovskite were included. The compositions of Fegarnets synthesized from the batch compositions of $Ca_{2,5}$C $e_{0.5}$Z $r_2$F $e_3$ $O_{12}$ and $Ca_2$CeZrFeF $e_3$ $O_{12}$, are $Ca_{2.53.2}$C $e_{0.30.7}$Z $r_{1.82.8}$F $e_{1.93.2}$ $O_{12}$ and $Ca_{2.22.5}$C $e_{0.81.0}$Z $r_{1.31.6}$ F $e_{0.4.07}$ F $e_{33.2}$ $O_{12}$, respectively. Ca contents were exceeded and Ce contents were exceeded or depleted in 8coodinated site, comparing to the initial batch composition. These results were caused by the compensation of the difference of ionic radius between Ca and Ce.

  • A large body of epidemiologic evidence suggests inverse relationships between ischemic heart disease and plasma vitamin C and E concentrations. Smokers have lower plasma concentrations of these vitamins than do nonsmokers. Smokers therefore need antioxidant vitamin supplementation . The purpose of study was to investigate the effect of antioxidant vitamin supplementation on blood composition in smoking college men. 24 subjects were divided into 3 groups of which were the vitamin C supplementation group(n=8), the vitamin E supplementation group(n=8), and the vitamin C+E supplementation group(n=8). The vitamin supplementation group consumed 500mg of ascorbic acid, the vitamin E supplementation group consumed 200IU of D-$\alpha$-tocopherol , and the vitamin C+E supplementation group consumed 500mg of ascorbic acid +200IU of D-$\alpha$-tocopherol for 4 weeks. We examined the blood compositions of the volunteers bofore and after vitamins were supplemented . The results obtained were as follows ; intakes of energy , carbohydrate , fat protein , vitamin C and vitamin E were not significantly affected by vitamin supplementation in all groups. Blood glucose concentrations were not significantly affected by vitamin supplementation in all groups. Concentrations of plasma uric acid and alkaline phosphatase activity were decreased significantly (p<0.05) with vitamin E supplementation. The results of this study show that antioxidant vitamin supplementation in smokers has a tendency to decrease coronary heart disease risk.

  • The saponins of two- and four-year-old American ginseng plants (Panax quinquefolium L.) (Araliaceae) collected in July and September were studied. American ginseng saponins (panaquilins) differ from Korean ginseng $(Panax ginseng\;C.A.\;M_{EYER})$ saponins (ginsenosides). The American ginseng saponins separated and named were panaquilins A, B, C, D, E-1, E-2, E-3, G-1, G-2, (c) and (d). One-dimensional thin-layer chromatography did not completely separate panaquilin mixture and was subject to misinterpretation. The panaquilins were more accurately separated and identified by the two-dimensional thin-layer method established. Some differences in American ginseng saponins were dependent upon the plant age, time of collection, and part extracted. The American ginseng sapogenin components are panaxadiol (panaquilins B and C), oleanolic acid (panaquilin D) and panaxatriol (panaquilin G-1). The panaquilins E-1, E-2 and E-3 mixture contained both panaxadiol and panaxatriol. The genins of panaquilins A, (c), (d) and G-2 were not identified. In addition, ${\beta}-sitosterol$ and stigmasterol were identified from the root ether extracts.

  • Recently, the evolution of V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technology is accelerating. In particular, it can be seen that C-V2X (Cellular V2X) technology and services combined with mobile telecommunication network are developing rapidly. However, in Korea, e-Call and emergency communication services are inferior to the developed communication technologies and the proportion of vehicles arriving at Golden Hour is considerably low. Therefore, this paper designed the communication architecture with C-V2X and Android operating systems, and presented ways to improve existing e-Call services using V2N (Vehicle to Nomadic Device) communication based on it.

  • We have found out the relationship of nanoemulsion containing nano vitamin C, E and propolis and gingival disease. We've confirmed effect of nanoemulsion through the experiment of in vivo and in vitro. We tested cell viability of gingival fibroblast cells by MTT assay and mRNA appearance of interleukin-$1{\beta}$, using mouse that was guided inflammation. Anti-microbacterial activity for Antibacterial effect's experiment was carried out by using S.aureus and E.coli. In addition, inflammation tissue has been observed with scanning electrical microscopy. In this study, expression of interleukin-$1{\beta}$ was decreased after adding nanoemulsion containing nanovitamin C, E and propolis. We've also obtained good results from the test of Antibacterial effect against S.aureus and E.coli. Also, swelling of inflammation tissues observed by scanning electrical microscopy has gone down. In conclusion, we have gained confidence that nanoemulsion containing nano vitamin C, E and propolis has very high Antibacterial effect against bacteria in oral. And it made us guess that inflammation of gingival reduces after decreasing interleukin-$1{\beta}$. Thus, we expect that nanoemulsion containing nano vitamin C, E and propolis gives good effects to patient having gingival disease.

  • For the safe handling of cyclohexanone, the explosion limits at $25^{\circ}C$ were investigated. The lower flash points and AITs (auto-ignition temperatures) by ignition time delay for cyclohexanone were experimented. By using the literatures data, the lower and upper explosion limits of cyclohexanone recommended 1.1 Vol.% ($100^{\circ}C$) and 9.4 Vol.%, respectively. The lower flash points of cyclohexanone were experimented $42{\sim}43^{\circ}C$ by using closed-cup tester and $49{\sim}51^{\circ}C$ by using open cup tester. This study measured relationship between the AITs and the ignition delay times by using ASTM E659-78 apparatus for cyclohexanone and the experimental AIT of cyclohexanone was $415^{\circ}C$.
