Xylitol, a five-carbon natural sugar alcohol, is widely used non-cariogenic sugar substitute. In present study, the effects of xylitol on the expression of mRNA for glucosyltransferase which synthesizes glucan from sucrose were detected by Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and flow cytometry. FITC fluorescences for mRNA of gtfB, gtfC and gtfD were decreased further with increasing concentration of xylitol from 1% to 10% when detected by FISH. Flow cytometric analysis also showed that the expression of gtfB, gtfC and gtfD was increased by the addition of sucrose and decreased by the addition of xylitol to BHI broth containing 1% sucrose. In conclusion, the expression of gtfB, gtfC and gtfD mRNA was decreased by the addition of xylitol.
Four peroxidase isozymes from horseradish roots (isozymes A, B, C and D) were isolated by chromatography and were thermally inactivated at $70{\sim}97^{\circ}C$ and pH 7.0. The four isozymes had different inactivation rates and the inactivation of each isozymes did not follow first order kinetics. D values of isozymes A, B, C, D and crude enzyme were 594s, 1850s, 2050s, 78s, 130s and z values were $24.0^{\circ}C$, $12.5^{\circ}C$, $18.0^{\circ}C$, $23.7^{\circ}C$ and $24.0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Sephadex gel chromatogram of the thermally treated isozyme C indicated that the shape and molecular weight of the native isozyme changed during inactivation.
The fixing behaviors of anthraquinone disperse dyes containing dimethylamino substituent, such as C. I. Disperse Violet 26(D.V.26) and C. I. Disperse Blue 14(D.V.14), or containing diamino substituent, such as C. I. Disperse Blue 73(D.B.73), and monochlorotriazinyl azo reactive dyes, such as C. I. Reactive Orange 13(R.O.13), C. I. Reactive Red 3(R.R.3). C. I. Reactive Yellow 2(R.Y.2) on polyester/cotton blend(P/C) fabrics were examined for the one-step printing of P/C fabrics. The high temperature steaming of $175^{\circ}C$ is the most satisfactory fixing method for P/C one-step printing with above disperse and reactive dyes among the four different fixing methods: $175^{\circ}C$ steaming, $102^{\circ}C$ steaming${\rightarrow}175^{\circ}C$ steaming, $190^{\circ}C$ thermosol, $102^{\circ}C$ steaming${\rightarrow}190^{\circ}C$ thermosol. $190^{\circ}C$ thermosol is unfit to fix R.R.3 and R.Y.2 whose heat stability is poor. It was found that D.V.26 and D.B.14 containing dimethylamino substituent are unstable for heat and alkali, but D.B.73 is stable for them to print P/C blend fabrics with R.O.13 which is also stable for heat. Therefore we found that D.B.73, R.O.13 and a pair of D.B.73 and R.O.13 were very suitable for one-step printing of P/C blend fabrics.

In this paper, It is proposed through the empirical design of a Conducted EMI filter for noise reduction of power used in electronic devices. For the proposed structure, A-type, B-type, C-type, and D-type structures were designed, and conductive noise reduction was confirmed by using an LC network with various X-capacitors, Y-capacitors, and Air-inductors. 10 [μH] was used for L1 and L2, and 4.7 [nF] was used for C1 and C2. L3 for common mode used 13[μH], and C5, C6, C7 were designed using 10[nF]. The measured insertion loss values of the designed EMI filter were -74.4[dB] at 3.2MHz, -75.4[dB] at 4MHz, and -75.3[dB] at 13.56MHz. Therefore, the proposed EMI filter will be able to reduce power supply noise used in various electronic devices.
In this article, we investigate the growth of meromorphic solutions of $${\alpha}(z)(\frac{{\Delta}_c{\eta}}{{\eta}})^2\,+\,(b_2(z){\eta}^2(z)\;+\;b_1(z){\eta}(z)\;+\;b_0(z))\frac{{\Delta}_c{\eta}}{{\eta}} \atop =d_4(z){\eta}^4(z)\;+\;d_3(z){\eta}^3(z)\;+\;d_2(z){\eta}^2(z)\;+\;d_1(z){\eta}(z)\;+\;d_0(z),$$ where a(z), bi(z) for i = 0, 1, 2 and dj (z) for j = 0, ..., 4 are given functions, △cη = η(z + c) - η(z) with c ∈ ℂ\{0}. In particular, when the a(z), the bi(z) and the dj(z) are polynomials, and d4(z) ≡ 0, we shall show that if η(z) is a transcendental entire solution of finite order, and either deg a(z) ≠ deg d0(z) + 1, or, deg a(z) = deg d0(z) + 1 and ρ(η) ≠ ½, then ρ(η) ≥ 1.
This experiment was conducted to find out the therapeutic effect of Artemisia capillaris extracts on hepatic damage in rats induced by carbon tetrachloride ($CCl_{4}$). In this experiment, 96 Sprague-Dawley rats were used as experimental groups, which were divided into 4 groups; control group(A), $CCl_{4}$-treated group(B), $CCl_{4}$+Artemisia extract-treated group(C) and $CCl_{4}$+silymarin-treated group(D). The B, C, D group were administrated single dose of $CCl_{4}$(2.5 ml/kg) to induce acute hepatic injury. C group was administrated with Artemisia capillaris extract(200 mg/kg/day) and D group treated with silymarin(50 mg/kg/day) for 7 days. Hematological, ultrasonographical, histological examinations and examination of antioxidant activity were also performed in all groups. AST and ALT activities of C group were significantly decreased compared with B group. The activities of AST and ALT in C and D groups returned to the normal range more rapidly than those of B group. In ultrasonographic examination, the echogenicity of liver in C group was significantly decreased compared with B group. Also C and D group had tended to recover faster than B group on liver histogram. Histologically, the percentage of degenerative regions and degenerative cell numbers in peri-central vein hepatic parenchyma of C and D group were significantly decreased compared with B group. In examination of lipid peroxidation, malondialdehyde of hepatic tissue in C group was decreased as compared with B group. In examination of antioxidant enzyme activity in liver, glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities were significantly increased compared with B group. As results of this study, it is thought that A. capillaris extract has therapeutic effects on hepatic injury induced by carbon tetrachloride, and has the similar therapeutic effects as silymarin in rats.
This study was performed to test the hypothesis that Brucella abortus strain RB51 (SRB51) might protect Korean indigenous mongrel dog against challenge with either virulent B. abortus biotype 1 or B. canis. A total of 12 Korean mongrel dogs were divided into four groups (Group A, B, C and D). Dogs belonging to Group A and C were inoculated subcutaneously with $1{\times}10^9$ CFU of SRB51 in 1ml of sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS). Dogs of Group B and D were inoculated subcutaneously with 1ml of sterile PBS as control. At 12 weeks post vaccination, dogs of Group A and B were challenged by oral inoculation of virulent strain of B. canis ($5.0{\times}10^9$ CFU) and dogs of Group C and D were challenged by oral inoculation of virulent strain of B. abortus biotype 1 ($4.4{\times}10^{10}$ CFU). The serum antibodies titers in all dogs were monitored at regular interval for eight weeks after challenge (AC) by standard tube agglutination test, plate agglutination test, rose bengal test, 2-mercaptoethanol rapid slide agglutination test and 2-mercaptoethanol tube agglutination test. No antibody titers in Group A and C was detected. Also, the challenge strains were not found from blood of all dogs of Group A and C from 1 week AC till the end of the experiment by culture and modified AMOS-PCR, whereas B. canis and B. abortus challenge strains were detected from blood of Group B and D, respectively. In addition, neither of two challenge bacteria was recovered from liver, spleen, kidneys, lymph nodes and reproductive tracts of Group A and C dogs after postmortem. However, B. canis and B. abortus challenge strains were isolated from these tissues of Group B and D, respectively. These data suggest that SRB51 could be a promising vaccine candidate for immunizing dogs to control canine brucellosis caused by B. canis or B. abortus.

The performance of a multi-carrier CDMA system is analyzed considering frequency selective multipath fading and Near/Far effects. The number of multicarrier, multiuser, and arms of RAKE receiver, and the decay ratio of frequency selective multipath fading are used as a parameter for the performance analysis. More over, the distribution and the strength of multiuser interference are also considered. To evaluate the Near/Far effects in a multi-carrier CDMA system, three distribution models are assumed. In the first model, interference to carrier Ratio, I/C, ranges from -4 dB to 4dB, and at each 2 dB interval, 20 % of multiuser is assumed to be uniformly distributed. In the second one, I/C ranges from -2 dB to 2 dB, and 33.3% of multiuser is assumed to be equally dispersed at each 2dB interval. The third model is 0 dB of I/C, that is, with perfect power control, multiuser are assumed to be evenly located. In this paper, multi-carrier CDMA system adoption RAKE receiver is proposed to mitigate the frequency selective multipath fading. From the results, the third model(i.e. perfect power control) shows the best performance, and the narrower range of I/C causes the less effects to the desired signal, which reads to the better performance.

Design of a continuous-time fifth-order OTA-C Eiliptic filter for operation at 4MHz is presented. The filter has been realize by five OTAs, eight capacitors and a buffer as an OTA-C structure. To prevent decreasing of characteristics due to the parastic capacitance of OTA and loading a buffer and a capacitor have been connected to the next of second section. As the result the frequency characteristics were found to be essentially within specifications : less than 0.2dB passband attenuation, 30dB stopband attenuation and 4Mz cut-off frequency have been obtained and the characteristic of cut-off region has been improved about 7dB compared with it of the theoretical case.

We proposed the beam tilted antenna by aperture coupled microstrip array, found out the values of design parameters by using Ensemble 5.1 of Ansoft Co., and analysed the performance of fabricated antenna. In order to point to the fixed satellite on the nothern hemisphere, 3 dB beamwidth of this antenna is 25$^{\circ}C$ to 65$^{\circ}C$. Operation bandwidth is 2.51GHz to 2.59GHz. The structure of this antenna is composed by 3 types of squared patches; reflector, driver, and director. The maximum antenna gain is 6.2dB at 2.56GHz and elevation angle of 42$^{\circ}C$. Front-to-Back ratio is more than 13dB at the same condition.
