Network-on-chip (NoC) is an emerging design paradigm intended to cope with future systems-on-chips (SoCs) containing numerous built-in cores. Since NoCs have some outstanding features regarding design complexity, timing, scalability, power dissipation and so on, widespread interest in this novel paradigm is likely to grow. The test strategy is a significant factor in the practicality and feasibility of NoC-based SoCs. Among the existing test issues for NoC-based SoCs, test access mechanism architecture and test scheduling particularly dominate the overall test performance. In this paper, we propose an efficient NoC-based SoC test scheduling algorithm based on a rectangle packing approach used for current SoC tests. In order to adopt the rectangle packing solution, we designed specific methods and configurations for testing NoC-based SoCs, such as test packet routing, test pattern generation, and absorption. Furthermore, we extended and improved the proposed algorithm using multiple test clocks. Experimental results using some ITC'02 benchmark circuits show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the overall test time by up to 55%, and 20% on average compared with previous works. In addition, the computation time of the algorithm is less than one second in most cases. Consequently, we expect the proposed scheduling algorithm to be a promising and competitive method for testing NoC-based SoCs.

This paper proposes a novel dynamically reconfigurable switch for various multimedia applications in hybrid NoC systems. Current NoC systems, which adopt hybrid NoC structure with fixed switch and job distribution algorithms, require designers to precisely predict the property of applications to be processed. This paper proposes a reconfigurable switch which minimizes buffer overflow in various multimedia applications running on an NoC system. To verify the performance of the proposed system, we performed experiments on various multimedia applications running on embedded systems, such as MPEG4 and MP3 decoder, GPS positioning system, and OFDM demodulator. Experimental results show that buffer overflow has been decreased by 41.8% and 29.0%, respectively, when compared with NoC systems having sub-clusters with mesh or star topology. Power usage has been increased by 2.3% compared with hybrid NoC systems using fixed switches, and chip area has been increased from -0.6% to 5.7% depending on sub-cluster topology.
This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of a NO sensor using ZnO thin film integrated 3C-SiC micro heater based on polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin film of operation in harsh environments. The sensitivity, response time, and operating properties in high temperature and voltages of NO sensors based SiC MEMS are measured and analyzed. The sensitivity of device with pure ZnO thin film at the heater operating power of 13.5 mW ($300^{\circ}C$) is 0.875 in NO gas concentration of 0.046 ppm. In the case of Pt doping, the sensitivity of at power consumption of 5.9 mW ($250^{\circ}C$) was 1.92 at same gas flow rate. The ZnO with doped Pt was showed higher sensitivity, lower working temperature and faster adsorption characteristics to NO gas than pure ZnO thin film. The NO gas sensor integrated SiC micro heater is more strength than others in high voltage and temperature environments.
The characteristics of DeNOx conversion process by plasma/post-heating system with the simulated gas containing ethene is investigated experimentally. Without plasma treatment, $NO-NO_2$ conversion doesn't occur by $400^{\circ}C$ in a mixture of $N_2/O_2$ with a trace gas of ethene. But $NO-NO_2$ conversion occurs as temperature increases above $400^{\circ}C$. The NO can, however, be converted to $NO_2$ at lower temperatures by treating the gas mixture with non-thermal plasma. The $NO-NO_2$ conversion enhances further by passing the plasma treated gas through the post-heating furnace. Results show that 20%${\sim}50%$ more conversion of NO to $NO_2$ is observed when the temperatures of the post-heating furnace are maintained at $300^{\circ}C$ or $400^{\circ}C$. The additional $NO-NO_2$ conversion by post-heating is due to the reaction of ethene with the byproducts or radicals generated from the plasma reaction.
The pentanuclear complexes have been obtained by the reactions of molybdenum(VI) and tungsten(VI) polynuclear complexes with molybdenum(O) and tungsten(O) dinitrosyl mononuclear complexes, and methylthioamidoxime. The prepared complexes (n-Bu4N)2[Mo4O12Mo(NO)2{CH3SCH2C(NH2)NHO}2{CH3SCH2C(NH)NO}2](1), (n-Bu4N)2[W4O12Mo(NO)2{CH3SCH2C(NH2)NHO}2{CH3SCH2C(NH)NO}2](2), (n-Bu4N)2[Mo4O12W (NO)2{CH3SCH2C(NH2)NHO}2{CH3SCH2C(NH)NO}2] (3) have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, UV-visible and 1H NMR spectra. The complexes are elucidated the cis-{M(NO)2}2+(M = Mo, W) unit and a slight delocalization by spectroscopy. The structure of (n-Bu4N)2[W4O12Mo(NO) 2{CH3SCH2C(NH2)NHO}2{CH3SCH2C(NH)NO}2] was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. Crystal data are follows: Monoclinic, $P21}a$, a = 22.14(2) $\AA$, b = 14.93(1) $\AA$, c = 23.20(1) $\AA$, $\beta$ = 111.08(6) $\AA$, V = 7155(9) $\AA$, Z = 4, final R = 0.072 for 6191(I > $3\sigma(I)).$ The structure of complex forms two dinuclear [W2O5{CH3SCH2C(NH2)NHO}{CH3SCH2C(NH)NO}] and a central {Mo(NO)2} 2+ core. The geometric structure of the {Mo(NO)2} 2+unit is the formally cistype and C2v symmetry.
Phospholipase D (PLD) plays an important role as a signaling molecule in the activation of neutrophils. In this study, effect of nitric oxide (NO) and cGMP on the activation of PLD in human neutrophils was investigated. Sodium nitroprusside (SNP), an agent to produce NO spontaneously in cells, alone increased PLD activity and the maximal activation was obtained with 0.5 mM SNP. Dibutyryl-cAMP, an agent to increase an intracellular cAMP concentration inhibited formyl-Met-Leu-Phe (fMLP)-stimulated PLD activity but 8-bromo-cGMP (300 $\mu$M), an agent to increase an intracellular cGMP concentration did not affect basal and fMLP-stimulated PLD activity. NO-induced activation of PLD was not blocked by KT 5823, an inhibitor of cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG), suggesting that NO-induced PLD activation is not mediated by cGMP. NO also stimulated p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) in human neutrophils, indicated by increased phosphorylation of p38 MAPK in Western blotting. NO-induced phosphorylation of p38 MAPK was not inhibited by KT 5823 or n-butanol. RhoA, an regulatory factor of PLD activation was trans-located from cytosolic fraction to plasma membranes by fMLP or phorbol ester, and fMLP-stimulated but not phorbol ester-stimulated translocation of RhoA was inhibited by cGMP. These results suggest that NO stimulates PLD activity through other unidentified facto.(s) than cGMP even though cGMP inhibits the artivation of RhoA.

In this paper, we address a novel simulated annealing(SA)-based test scheduling method for testing network-on-chip (NoC)-based systems-on-chip(SoCs), on the assumption that the test platform proposed in [1] is installed. The proposed method efficiently mixed the rectangle packing method with SA and improved the scheduling results by locally changing the test access mechanism(TAM) widths for cores and the testing orders. Experimental results using ITC'02 benchmark circuits show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently reduce the overall test time.

As mobile systems are performing various functionality in the IoT (Internet of Things) era, network-on-chip (NoC) plays a pivotal role to support communication between the tens and in the future potentially hundreds of interacting modules in system-on-chips (SoCs). Owing to intensive research efforts more than a decade, NoCs are now widely adopted in various SoC designs. Especially, studies on application-specific NoCs (ASNoCs) that consider the heterogeneous nature of modern SoCs contribute a significant share to use of NoCs in actual SoCs, i.e., ASNoC connects non-uniform processing units, memory, and other intellectual properties (IPs) using flexible router positions and communication paths. Although it is not difficult to find the prior works on ASNoC synthesis and optimization, little research has addressed the issues how to convert different protocols and data widths to make a NoC compatible with various IPs. Thus, in this paper, we address important issues on ASNoC implementation to support and convert multiple interfaces. Based on the in-depth discussions, we finally introduce our FPGA-proven full-custom ASNoC.
Thermolysis of $Cu(NO_3)_2{\cdot}3H_2O$ impregnated activated carbon fiber (ACF) was studied by means of XRD analysis to obtain Cu-impregnated ACF. $Cu(NO_3)_2{\cdot}3H_2O$ was converted into $Cu_2O$ around $230^{\circ}C$. The $Cu_2O$ was reduced to Cu at $400^{\circ}C$, resulting in ACF-C(Cu). Some Cu particles have a tendency to aggregate through the heat treatment, resulting in the ununiform distribution in ACF. Catalytic decomposition of NO gas has been performed by Cu-impregnated ACF in a column reactor at $400^{\circ}C$. Initial NO concentration was 1300 ppm diluted in helium gas. NO gas was effectively decomposed by 5~10 wt% Cu-impregnated ACF at $400^{\circ}C$. The concentration of NO was maintained less than 200 ppm for 6 hours in this system. The ACF-C(Cu) deoxidized NO to $N_2$ and was reduced to ACF-$C(Cu_2O)$ in the initial stage. The ACF-$C(Cu_2O)$ also deoxidized NO to $N_2$ and reduced to ACF-C(CuO). This ACF-C(CuO) was converted again into ACF-C(Cu) by heating. There was no consumption of ACF in mass during thermolysis and catalytic decomposition of NO to $N_2$ by copper. The catalytic decomposition was accelerated with increase of the reaction temperature.
To investigate a possible application of three strains of lactic acid bacteria(strain No. 49. No. 61. No. 75) from kimchi in milk fermentation industry, the optimal condition for production of intracellular ${\beta}-galactosidase$ from Lactobacillus(L.) plantarum and its enzymatic properties were examined. The preferable carbon source of the medium for strain No. 49 in production of ${\beta}-galactosidase$ was MRS broth with 1.0% lactose instead of dextrose of pH 65. for strain No. 75 with 1.0% galactose and for strain No. 61 with 3.0% lactose at pH 7.5, respectively. The maximum enzyme production from strain No. 49, No. 75 was observed after 48 hours culture at $30^{\circ}C$ in a medium containing the appropriate carbon source, from strain No. 61 after 48 hours culture at room temperature. The optimum temperature for ${\beta}-galactosidase$ activity from L. plantarum was $60^{\circ}C$ for strain No. 49, $37^{\circ}C$ for strain No. 61 and $50^{\circ}C$ for strain No. 75, respectively. The heat stability of enzyme activities for all three strains remained 90% at $45^{\circ}C$. The optimal pH was pH 6.5 and enzyme activities were most stable at pH for all three bacteria.
