클라우드 컴퓨팅 비즈니스 모델 개발을 위한 프레임워크 설계 (A New Conceptual Framework for Designing Cloud Computing Business Model)

  • In this paper, we develop a new conceptual framework for finding new business opportunities in the cloud computing environment. We propose a service model framework for cloud computing business. In the service concept of the proposed business model, we categorize customer needs and service offering value, while we analyze customer behavior for developing revenue model. In addition, we analyze cloud computing market drivers for finding an evolution path of the proposed business model. Finally, we develop cloud computing business strategies for Korean IT service industry.

  • 본 논문은 신규 비즈니스 모델 설립 시 요구되는 단계적인 접근 방법과 다양한 비즈니스 모델을 분석하기 위한 비즈니스 모델 분석 프레임워크를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 비즈니스 모델을 가치 창출 방식에 따라서 크게 4가지 유형으로 나누었으며 그 유형들의 파생모델을 제시 하였다. 또한 적용 사례로서 무선랜 서비스를 이용한 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 도출 하였으며 비즈니스 모델 분석 프레임워크를 이용하여 신규 서비스에 대한 적용 가능성을 평가하였다.

공급사슬 협업을 위한 참조모델 기반의 프레임워크 (A Reference Model Based Framework for Supply Chain Collaboration)

  • The focus of enterprise collaboration of supply chain management, has changed from integrating and exchanging business information to integrating and managing business processes between business partners. However, the collaboration is difficult due to the inherent complexity such as diverse business processes and dynamic business environments. To settle these problems, a reference model based enterprise architecture framework for the collaboration of supply chains is proposed in this paper. The supply chain collaboration framework is composed of three reference models capturing the different views of supply chain collaboration: supply process reference model, service component reference model, and technology and standard reference model. As the framework adapts the OMG's metadata architecture, the processes in the supply chain can be extended and integrated with other value chains, such as design chains, when it is necessary. Using the proposed framework, business managers can rapidly integrate and manage their business processes with their suppliers and customers.

  • Since the emergence of the Internet, electronic business (e-business) has become one of the most widely investigated issues. E-business is considered to have the potential of generating considerable new values and the capability to transform the rules of competition in unprecedented ways. This study aim to suggest a approach for new business idea creation. This is based on the analysis and manipulation of business method patents. For this end, our research is performed in the following ways. First, business keywords are extracted from business method patents. Second, business model framework which is used to structuralize the business is suggested based on the literature survey. Third, the business keywords are classified into the business model framework. Forth, existing business model is expressed based on the suggested framework. Finally, new business idea is created from the existing business model by adding, subtracting, or substituting the business keywords.

  • 유비쿼터스 비즈니스 환경은 기존의 e-비즈니스, m-비즈니스와는 다른 특성을 가지고 있다. 이는 u-비즈니스 모델을 개발할 때 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술의 특성과 유비쿼터스 비즈니스 환경을 고려해야 한다는 것을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 비즈니스 패러다임의 핵심인 가치의 공동 창출 경험에 초점을 맞춘 u-비즈니스 모델 개발 프레임워크를 제시했다. 본 논문의 u-비즈니스 모델 개발 프레임워크는 8단계로 구성되어 있고 각 단계별 세부 절차를 구체적으로 제시했다. 새로운 비즈니스 패러다임 하에서 성공적인 비즈니스 모델을 발굴하고 수행하고자 하는 기업들에게 본 논문에서 제안한 u-비즈니스 모델 개발 프레임워크는 유용한 가이드라인을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • A business model (BM) can be developed based on a business model framework (BMF) consisting of key components such as value proposition, customers, and resources. To systematically generate and analyze emerging BMs such as healthcare BM, an integration of diverse BMF components is needed. The present study is to establish a comprehensive BMF and evaluate its applicability to healthcare BMs. Based on a review of eight BMF studies, ten BMF components were identified and classified into five major components (value proposition, resources, organizing model, customers, and revenue model) and five minor components (technology, service platform, delivery, competitive strategy, and growth/exit) by analyses of frequency and functional importance. Lastly, the BMs of three emerging healthcare companies (WellDoc, Inc., CFW Shops, and Aravind Eye Care System) were analyzed and compared in terms of the proposed BMF components. The comprehensive BMF components presented in the study can be of help for developing new BMs and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of BMs.

  • Cloud computing, which means a new way of deploying information technology(IT) in organizations as a service and charging per use, has a deep impact on organizations' IT accessibility, agility and efficiency of its usage. More than that, the emergence of cloud computing surpasses a mere technological innovation, making business model innovation possible. We call this innovation realized by could computing a cloud business model. This study develops a comprehensive framework of business model, first, and then defines and analyzes the cloud business model through this framework. This study also examines the case of M-Pesa mobile payment as a cloud business model in which a new value creation and profit realization schemes have been realized and industry value network has changed. Finally, this study discusses the business implications from this new business model.

A Conceptual Framework for Determination of Appropriate Business Model in e-Learning Industry in Iran

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to present a framework for determining the most appropriate business model for e-learning. Research design, data, and methodology - The Electronics Branch of Azad University has been elected as a case study in this research. This study conducted using a descriptive method. The information was obtained using interviews with experts including managers, faculty and students at the Electronics Branch of Azad University. Results - Three service-product system (product oriented system, use an oriented and result oriented system) approaches determined a framework for the formation of a portfolio. This portfolio is including three types of e-learning business models. Examining the relevant characteristics, correspondence of behaviorism learning theory with a product-oriented approach, correspondence of cognitivism theory with a user-oriented approach and in finally match correspondence of constructivist learning theory with a results-oriented approach which is evident. Conclusions - After reviewing the literature on the fields of e-learning, business model and product - service systems, we have achieved three types of e-learning business models. Then the variables in any of the business models were defined by using business model canvas tool and thus a portfolio consisting of three types of e-learning business model canvas was obtained.

  • This paper presents an idea and framework to automate a full cycle business process management and re-engineering by integrating traditional business process management systems, process mining, data mining, machine learning, and simulation. We build our framework on the cloud-based platform such that various data sources can be incorporated. We design our systems to be extensible so that not only beneficial for practitioners of BPM, but also for researchers. Our framework can be used as a test bed for researchers without the complication of system integration. The automation of redesigning phase and selecting a baseline process model for deployment are the two main contributions of this study. In the redesigning phase, we deal with both the analysis of the existing process model and what-if analysis on how to improve the process at the same time, Additionally, improving a business process can be applied in a case by case basis that needs a lot of trial and error and huge data. In selecting the baseline process model, we need to compare many probable routes of business execution and calculate the most efficient one in respect to production cost and execution time. We also discuss the challenges and limitation of the framework, including the systems adoptability, technical difficulties and human factors.

Environment of Doing Business in East Asia : South Korean Experience

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to aim to stress the importance of doing business environment in South Korean economy. The theoretical justification is based on neo-institutional theories and new business management including Porter's Model as main justifications of state intervention due to the market failures to promote a competitive environment of doing business. Research design, data and methodology - The methods to be taken is to provide a comparative performance analysis, and offer in terms of doing business and economic freedom sub-index complemented by Korean reforms diagnostics. Results - The main results underlined the key factors explain the success of business environment in South Korea such as: a simplified registration procedures, a target tax incentives, the removal of business barriers, the improvement of legislative and regulatory framework, target reforms, property right and technical norms, good governance and the quality of institution, a role of a well-functioning legal framework, a strong competition framework, and the transparency of regulation, etc. Conclusion - A competitive environment of doing business is based on the target national strategies, appropriate reforms responding to national needs and good governance system.
