  • The purposes of this thesis are to investigate characteristics, environment of characters through comprehensive approach to analyze its use and strategies in apparel brands. As a method to accomplish this research, fashion related articles, documents and magazines are used along with marketing references forecasting 21st century market changes. The character industry has diverse application to different medias and also intimacy and absorbtion beyond sex, age, generation, nationality. The cultural background of character fashion is based on casual clothing caused by wide spread pursuit of sports and leisure culture, indivisualization and diversification of clothing, customer-made marketing atmosphere and tendency of pursuit of fun and humor. In case of domestic young casual market, own characters are developed for creating differentiated it's own brand images. Characters are applied as an design details or cyber fashion models standing for the image of it's own brand and take a part in other events and visual parts as well. Characters not only limited to clothing items but also further usages of characters extended to stickers and other related stationary goods are necessary. A 'Character multi shop' can be one of good methods to maximize synergy effect.

Conclusion of this study is as following.   • 최근 정보 기술의 가장 큰 변화 중 하나인 스마트폰은 다양한 정보 및 서비스를 손쉽게 제공하므로 기업의 여러 분야에 활용될 수 있다. 특히 의사결정을 위해 구축된 방대한 데이터를 검색하는 시스템의 경우에 스마트폰으로 서버에 질의를 요청하여 결과를 제공받을 수 있다. 스마트폰의 경우 4G 방식을 사용하여 빠른 속도로 통신할 수 있으나 배터리 소모가 매우 심하다는 것이 큰 단점이다. 본 논문에서는 모바일기기인 클라이언트와 서버로 구성된 모바일환경에서 배터리의 소모를 줄이기 위해 모바일 뷰를 제안한다. 모바일 뷰는 질의처리 시 실체화 뷰를 이용하여 서버와의 통신을 줄임으로써 배터리 소모를 줄인다. 또한 소스 변경에 따라 모바일 뷰의 일관성을 제어하기 위한 방법을 분류하고 제시된 배터리소모 비용 모델을 기반으로 각 방법의 비용을 제시한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the smart-phone and the existing service convergence to find out the future direction in convergence pattern in e-business. To analyze the data and to derive the result, the association rules are applied. As a result, the findings are as followings. Firstly, it is observed that the usage patterns of smart-phone and the existing service convergence are very similar. This means that the convergence of smart-phone can be predicted through the usage pattern of the existing users. Secondly, through the analysis on the convergence patterns of smart-phone usages and the existing services, the smart-phone's link to home networking and office equipments can significantly conform to the user's requirements. It is meaningful that this research has newly approached to the future direction of e-business and the future convergence paradigm by analyzing the relationship between the usage patterns of smart-phone users and the existing service convergence.

Exploring Twitter Follower-Networks of Startup Companies Employing Social Network Analysis and Cluster Analysis (소셜네트워크 분석과 클러스터 분석 방법을 활용한 스타트업 회사의 트위터 팔로워 네트워크에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • The importance of business strategy for successful social media engagement has quickly increased as more businesses engage in social media. The importance is even greater for startup companies because startup companies are genuinely new to business, and they need to increase their presence in the market, and quickly access future customers. The objective of this paper lies in exploring key indicators of social media engagements by selected startup companies. The key indicators include two aspects of social media usages by the companies: i) overall social media activities, and ii) properties of network structure of the information flow platform provided by social media service. To better assess and evaluate the key indicators of social media usages by startup companies, the indicators will be compared with those of selected large established companies. Twitter is selected as a social media service for the analysis of this paper, and using Twitter REST API, data regarding the key indicators of overall Twitter activities and the Twitter follower-network of each company in the sample are collected. Then, the data are analyzed using social network analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis to examine the characteristics of the follower-network structures and to compare the characteristics between startup companies and established companies. The results show that most indicators are significantly different across startup companies and established companies. One key interesting finding is that the startup companies have proportionally more influencers in their follower-networks than the established companies have. Another interesting finding is that the follower-networks of startup companies in the sample have higher modularity and higher transitivity, suggesting that the startup companies tend to have a proportionally larger number of communities of users in their follower-networks, and the users in the networks are more tightly connected and cohesive internally. The key business implication for the future social media engagement efforts by startup companies in general is that startup companies may need to focus on getting more attention from influencers and promoting more cohesive communities in their follower-networks to appreciate the potential benefits of social media in the early stage of business of startup companies.

  • Since appearance of smart devices and cloud computing services, the social and economical values of administrative information have been magnified as valuable information. In order to make better use of various administrative information by diverse government organizations efficiently and effectively, information sharing based on legal systems is essential because of several obstacles including privacy. To suggest practical ways for using administrative information, this study categorized the administrative information sharing process, and analyzed the regulations and legal systems that are contradictory to the regulations. The result of analysis appears that there is a need of legislative base for well-defined business use of information, and a need of the organizations, that available to collect and manufacture the information. The results of this study can be expected to make legislation contributions not only for industries, but also by suggesting the policy making and guidelines to protect privacy and improve the quality of citizens' life.

  • This study is about the influence between usages of smartphone by studying the characteristics of killer-app on smartphone in a perspective of switching cost and lock-in and studied about influence between killer-app and continued usage of mobile telecommunication companies. As a result of the study, information characteristics and network externality has a positive effect on switching cost and lock-in. Switching cost has a positive influence on lock-in but not on intention of continued usage of killer-app. It has shown that lock-in has a positive influence on intention of continued usage of killer-app and plays a mediating role between switching cost and continued usage of killer-app. Finally, intention of continued usage of killer-app has a positive influence on intention of continued usage of mobile telecommunication companies.

Exploring Effects of Water Price on Residential Water Demand for Water Management

  • Purpose: Management of water is a crucial issue globally and is becoming more critical due to climate change. The purpose of this study is to explore water resource management by considering price and water usage based on river basins and to suggest more efficient residential water demand management in South Korea. Research Design, data, and methodology: This study applied data of water usage and water price of 15 regions in four major river basins by considering up and downstream locations from 1997 to 2017 collected by Ministry of Environment in Korea. This study applied regression analyses, ANOVA, and 2-Way ANOVA to verify its claims. Results: The results found that effects of price on water usage showed significant in many cities. The results also showed that means of water usages differ based on location (upstream and downstream) and river basins. Conclusion: The findings provide important policy and management implications for the improvement of water resource management in terms of demand. The results also indicate that water price should be reconsidered by comparing water price levels with those of OECD countries. Furthermore, the results imply that water management in Korea needs to improve in terms of supply to cope with climate change.

The Interoperability between RDF/OWL and Topic Maps using the Semantic Wiki (시맨틱 위키를 이용한 RDF/OWL과 토픽맵 사이의 상호운용성)

  • With the emergence of Semantic Web and Web 2.0, the paradigm shift of the Web is on resource-centered services. That is, the focus now moves from having just rich resources to the meta-information of describing the resources. The relevant standards, RDF(Resource Description Language) and Topic Maps, of describing the meta-information are defined and adopted by W3C and ISO respectively. Describing meta-information in such a XML form could be burdensome to participants. Semantic Wiki extended from 1)WikiWikiWeb is proposed to deal with the problem. It enables users to generate RDF meta-information about Wiki pages with simple usages of the grammar. We discuss the way of improving interoperability between Topic Maps-based semantic Wiki papges and RDF-based ones. The method proposed by RDFTM task force is present with the usage of high-level Wiki grammar for facilitating low-level transformation.

  • The purpose of this study is research on the characteristics of post-modernism expressed on western hair styles in the late 20th century. Therefore this thesis analyzed the relationship of modernism & the hair styles of that mage and post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. That will re-illuminate the same beauty worth of same age as to accurate the concept of post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. And the last, criticizing the post-modernism design and that hair design, helping to find new trends. The method of this study was the literature research & analysis of visual materials focus on upper bust image that can know the relationship of modernism & the hair styles of that mage, and post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. First, the literature research is composed of analysis of theses, magazines on art, clothing and cosmetology having the contents of 20th century western culture, art and hair styles. Second, the analysis of visual materials is composed of analysis of video films, slide films and photographs of books, magazines, and internet home-pages. Modern western hair styles, appeared after 1910's, is represented as a short cut & permanent wave. That express experimentalism, functionalism, and purism, that is same as the other art's trend of same age. Post-modern western hair styles, appeared after 1960's, also show the same trend with same age's. This summarized & characterized 8 categories; historical method, pluralism, negotiation, escape from the formality, recovery of humanity, ornament, connection with race, metaphor & symbolism. But post-modernism concentrating pluralism makes easy making low quality art and absence of criticism, so this thesis criticised it 5 categories; absence of ideas, absence of the social sense of responsibility, lost of one's characteristics, decline of skills, decline of worth of usages.
