  • One of the roles of the Semantic Web services is to execute dynamic intra-organizational services including the integration and interoperation of business processes. Since different organizations design their processes differently, the retrieval of similar semantic business processes is necessary in order to support inter-organizational collaborations. Most approaches for finding services that have certain features and support certain business processes have relied on some type of logical reasoning and exact matching. This paper presents our approach of using imprecise matching fur expanding results from an exact matching engine to query the OWL MIT Process Handbook. In order to use the MIT Process Handbook for process retrieval experiments, we had to export it into an OWL-based format. We model the Process Handbook meta-model in OWL and export the processes in the Handbook as instances of the meta-model. Next, we need to find a sizable number of queries and their corresponding correct answers in the Process Handbook. We devise diverse similarity algorithms based on values of process attributes and structures of business processes. We perform retrieval experiments to compare the performance of the devised similarity algorithms.

  • In recent, keeping and developing relationships with current customers is a key service business goal, and service recovery efforts is to be the essence of service business strategy. But many researchers have neglected to focus on that issue. So this research is intended to explore service quality factors that include service recovery efforts and grip those difference among service operations systems. Service operations systems are divided into three categories. Our study results suggest that customer oriented firms need to develop a comprehensive service recovery system and must include service recovery as a service quality factor.

買入管理業務의 리엔지니어링 事例硏究 (Business Reengineering of Order-Taking and Purchasing Processes : A Case Study)

  • Business reengineering (BR) is an emerging idea that attempts to restructure inefficient, current business processes through redesigning jobs and exploiting new information technology (IT), and helps achieving significant improvements in white-collar productivity and returns of IT investment. This research analyzed order-taking and purchasing processes of a company (a coil distributor) using BR concepts, models and principles. We also made proposals for reengineering the present business processes. For this, BR literatures were reviewed to derive BR models and principles to be used for analyses. We applied these ideas to six(6) types of order-taking and purchasing processes of Company T. For each type, current processes, BR analyses, and proposals for BR were described. Finally, findings were summarized and discussed.

  • This study aims to examine the difference between market orientation, organizational service orientation, performances (employee satisfactions and business performances) across the type of hotel grade, and investigate the effect on performances of market orientation, organizational service orientation, and interaction of these two factors. For these purposes the authors developed 13 research proposals. The data for this research which were collected from Korean hotel firms’ managers and employees were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, regression analysis. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, five-star hotels display higher levels of market orientation, organizational service orientation, performance (employee satisfaction, business performance) than four-star and three-star hotels. Second, market orientation, organizational service orientation, and interaction of these two variables have significant effects on performances(employee satisfaction, business performance).

  • To survive in rapidly changing business environment, the enterprise should adapt its business process to the changing environment. The system integration is an important issue to tackle this challenge. It is unavoidable direction that SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) is accepted as an upcoming IT standard to support flexible business processes and integration. In this paper, SOA is introduced, and the Web services and ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) ate also introduced as a foundation technology to implement SOA-enabled solutions. The pilot project, which is introduced in this paper, will be a good reference for future SOA implementation.

대규모 기업집단의 순환출자 해소를 위한 최적화 모형 (An Optimization Model for Resolving Circular Shareholdings of Korean Large Business Groups)

  • Circular shareholdings among three companies are formed when company A owns stock in company B, company B owns stock in company C, and company C owns stock in company A. Since circular shareholdings among large family-controlled firms are used to give the controlling shareholder greater control or more opportunities to expropriate minority investors, the government has encouraged large business groups to gradually remove their circular shareholdings. In this paper, we propose a combinatorial optimization model that can answer the question, which equity investments among complicated investment relationships of one large business group should be removed to resolve its circular shareholdings. To the best knowledge of the authors, our research is the first one that has approached the circular shareholding problem in respect of management science. The proposed combinatorial optimization model are formulated into integer programming problem and applied to some Korean major business groups.

  • ISP(Information Strategy Planning) is the methodology to light the objective and the business system architecture, and to recognize the strategic situation for the establishment of effective information system in an organization. Customer Needs Research is one of the Research Methodology that analyze the customer needs effectively and use to establish the policy and the direction of corporation. Both have the important role to establish the strategy for the corporation. The former can propose the corporate information strategy in MIS, the latter can be used to research the customer needs about a corporation, to establish the business management strategy and to decide the way corporate must head. But each has studied independently and there is no integrated methodology of ISP and Customer Needs Research. Actually, a lot of corporations still establish ISP to increase the business efficiency rather than to satisfy the customer needs. Customer satisfaction is the final objective of all business so that corporations have to find the customer needs through Customer Needs Research and make ISP oriented to customer satisfaction through the result of Customer Needs Research.

  • "How does advertising affect sales?" is the fundamental issue of modern advertising research. There is an interesting issue for estimating carry over effects of advertising on sales, and the aggregated data biases exist in the duration of advertising effect. This research suggests a modified model at micro-data using Koyck model (Koyck 1954) by estimated model the aggregate data, and empirically shows the aggregated data bias. Our modified model with the aggregated level of actual data is more appropriate than the base model for micro-data. The result shows that it is very important to consider the disaggregated data level in the analysis of dynamic effects of adverting such as lagged effects.

  • 기업 활동의 근간을 이루는 비즈니스 프로세스들을 투명하게 관리하고 통제하기 위해 국내외 많은 기업들이 비즈니스 프로세스 관리(BPM: Business Process Management) 시스템을 도입하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 프로세스 모델링 및 표기법 측면에서 BPMN(Business Process Modeling and Notation), 프로세스 실행과 운영 측면에서 BPEL(Business Process Execution Language), 모니터링과 통제 측면에서 BPQL(Business Process Query Language)을 표준의 개요와 표준화 현황을 제시하였다. 또한, BPM 솔루션 공급업체들의 유형을 분류해 보고, 각 공급업체 유형별 장단점 분석을 기초로 BPM 표준을 자사 솔루션 개발에 적용하고자 하는 기업들에게 유용한 표준 도입 전략을 제시하였다.

국내 병원의 전략에 관한 인식과 구성요소 및 질 수준 평가 (Evaluation on Perception, Elements and Quality of Business Strategy in Domestic Hospitals)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate of the perception, elements and quality level of business strategy in domestic hospitals. We analyze survey data about strategy. Significantly, we find that domestic hospitals were greatly feeling about the necessity and importance of strategy, but elements and quality level of actual execution strategy is much lower. When evaluating level on the perception, elements and quality of strategy within each of Miles and Snow's strategy type, PA(prospector+analyzer) was higher than DR(defender+reactor). And result of structural equation modeling(SEM), elements had a significant influence on the quality of the strategy, a positive relationship between the components and the PA have been identified. Therefore, we propose that to increase the elements level in order to improve the quality level of strategy, and hospital administrators are need to be PA rather than DR.
