  • To provide the baseline for pricing, this paper proposes pricing-by-rating (PBR) as pricing model at micro-foundations level that can work as the baseline for all pricing models as well as an assessment criterion of business model in all circumstances. It sets up firstly WTP (willingness to pay/purchase) model from explicit needs and develops PBR based on the ordinal scale of the difference between the WTP and the WTS (willingness to supply/sell) by comparing individually the corresponding element/component of a firm's actual marketing mix 4P with that of the best SPEC (solution, price indicator by WTP, encouragement, channel) as an ideal 4P a customer expects and also by comparing the interaction between the 4P and the best SPEC as a whole collectively. And through illustrations it shows its applicability to evaluating business model in practice and finally asserts that PBR works as the baseline for pricing policy and as a criterion of business model evaluation in any circumstances.

  • BPM(Business Process Management) secures the agility of an enterprise through automation, integration, and optimization of business process. For the successful BPM introduction, the evaluation and selection of suitable processes for BPM are very important. But as to process evaluation and selection standards, in fact, various selection elements exist and they have to be considered. Therefore, it is very difficult to evaluate systematically and reasonably business processes for enterprises or concerned persons that plan to introduce BPM. This paper describes a Web-based business process evaluation model for BPM using BSC(Balanced Scorecard) and fuzzy AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). A Web-based business process evaluation system was implemented based on this and it provides many useful business process evaluation results to enterprises or concerned persons that have insufficient experience and knowledge about BPM, and initially plan to implement BPMS(Business Process Management System). Thus, this paper demonstrates the applicability of fuzzy AHP concept in business process evaluation and selection for BPM, and provides a systemic guidance in the decision-making process.

This research is about two different points of view on I-Evaluation development as an approach method to provide analysis, evaluation, and guideline on business web sites. The one is about developing a working step and a site evaluation model that are necessary to improve the quality of site. The other is about a framework development to apply a feedback on site most rapidly and site optimization. The former is from the methodological point of view for I-Evaluation, and the latter is from the point of view for I-Evaluation Framework. In terms of methodology, developing site evaluation model and defining a working step belong to it. Site evaluation model means customizing each customers web site, using each evaluated scoring model which can be a standard for each industry to analyze a similar business web site. Defining a working step means defining input and output parameters for composed elements, working processes, and results analysis on an evaluated model. And also it includes building a working environments to automatic steps mentioned the above by clarifying them.

  • Previous U-Commerce researches have dealt with the business support systems for traditional commerce space such as real world shopping malls. This paper investigates U-Commerce business models in service space. The McDonald's Touch-Order case is analyzed from business model perspective and the Media-Embedded Place business model is introduced as a U-Commerce business model for value creation in service space. The media-embedded place business model attaches auto-identification tags to tables or billboards, triggers commercial transaction through the tags, and shares the revenues and the incentives among the place owners and commerce/content providers. This paper analyzes its scenario and applications and illustrates the profitability analysis using so-called 'tag evaluation model'.

  • To adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, introduction of new management techniques and innovative activities are crucial. In the case of small and medium companies, the compensation for scarce management resources and sustainable development can be obtained from advantage of management consulting. In this study, we propose the enterprise process evaluation model for small and medium business consulting, which can deploy the process improvement activities with considering the process maturity level within an organization. The process evaluation area of proposed Small and Medium Business, Staged Maturity Model (SMB-SMM) consists of four following parts: supply management, demand management, business management, and research and development (R&D) management. For each area, we set goals and also define the practices to achieve their goals respectively. By applying the SMB-SMM model to the small and medium sized companies, the process maturity level can be defined. And then to overcome the gap between the goals and evaluation results, the customized management consulting activities can be drawn from the predefined consulting approaches from the SMB-SMM.
