  • The usage of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in building projects has enabled improvement in project planning, implementation and collaboration process amongst various stakeholders within architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. However, variations exist in the current practices of BIM implementation and coordination process in the industry. These variations result in inconsistent degree of BIM use across the construction industry. This inconsistency gives rise to several managerial and technological challenges such as data interoperability issues and purposeful integration and exchange of information within the BIM components. In order to tackle the issue, it is essential to analyse the different BIM approaches employed by the industry practitioners. BIM guidelines serve as a critical link between the BIM model, and its subsequent execution. They therefore provide the best reflection of BIM application and processes. This research paper aims to address the variations existing in BIM practices across the construction industry. It includes an extensive study of 21 existing, publicly available BIM-based guidelines in order to establish an understanding of the present state of practice and deduce issues and concerns related to them. All guidelines analysed in this paper are first categorised based on authorship and the release date for efficient comparison. The points of similarity and difference between them are thereby realized and outlined. In addition, the transition of project implementation process from traditional methods to BIM technology is also explained. The existence of inconsistencies in the BIM guidelines reviewed in this paper reflects the need of a BIM 'Code Compliance Check'. The Code Compliance Check will serve as a regulatory project guideline that will further improve the potential of BIM by incorporating a consistent BIM modelling methodology for the entire construction industry.

  • Conceptual cost is estimated with insufficient information at an early stage of a building construction project, resulting in an inevitable gap between conceptual estimated cost and real constructed cost. For a project to be successful, this gap must be managed to be lower than a reliable level. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a structural process for managing the reliability of conceptual cost estimates at an early stage of a building construction project. In researching this study, conceptual cost estimate experts were interviewed, and a risk management process was studied. Reliability assessment and a review process for improving the quality of conceptual cost estimate and the planning strategy of reliability management based on previous similar projects were added to the present estimate process. The proposed reliability management process will improve the chances of a successful project, by helping to decrease the risk of conceptual estimated cost.

  • BIM, as a means of integrating information into the entire lifecycle of construction, greatly enhances productivity in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) field. With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, new-generation technologies such as AI and automation have also entered the researchers' field of vision. Nowadays, there is an increasing number of studies combining these two powerful tools for applications in the AEC domain, particularly focusing on their deep and proactive integration into construction project scheduling. This study aims to systematically review the current research status of AI technology in construction project scheduling based on Building Information Modeling (BIM). Through meticulous selection, we ultimately identified 46 peer-reviewed articles as the subject of our investigation. Building upon these sources, we delve into the following inquiries: firstly, we analyze which specific AI algorithms and technologies have been widely researched and practically applied in BIM-based construction project scheduling. Secondly, we examine the challenges and limitations of AI application in construction project scheduling within the BIM environment. Lastly, we explore strategies for further advancing AI technology in supporting construction project scheduling with BIM, aiming to better meet the demands of the construction industry. In terms of technological application, we observe that while decision-making was the primary focus of AI technology in the past, automation now occupies a more significant position in construction project scheduling. Looking ahead, we anticipate that advanced technologies such as deep learning and genetic algorithms will play a more substantial role in this field, offering more efficient and accurate solutions for construction project scheduling. This paper systematically delineates the current research status of AI in construction project scheduling within the BIM environment, providing not only technical guidance for innovation in current construction project management but also valuable insights into the future development directions of AI technology in project scheduling.

  • Construction companies find it increasingly necessary to reduce the cost as the construction market has been suffering from a depression and the industrial environment has been changing fast lately. The cost cut demands the productivity management of the field operations, which can be made feasible by assigning an appropriate number of managers on the construction site. However, previous studies are focused on the labor productivity and construction companies take into account only the revenue per worker in organizing the staff. The purpose of this study is to research the model for calculating the field management manpower in accordance with the characteristic of project and site conditions which are usually considered in the beginning of the construction project. The data about apartment building projects of domestic large constructors and factors related to them were statistically analyzed. The results of this study can be used to calculate the necessary field management manpower in accordance with the characteristic of project.

  • This study provides the method how to improve the productivity of a project using CM's constitutive methods. Construction industry in Korea was protected by the government and they have been grown with only their construction technology until today. It results Korean Construction is behind the advanced countries in terms of Engineering fields and construction management skills. This study compares the difference between the construction system of Korea and Europe and Asia. And then, it proposes the method how to compete with the other countries. which introduce the CM technique into the construction project in the beginning stage. Hopefully, this study is recognised as the basic strategy to improve the capability of Korean construction management.

  • This paper shows construction management focused on waste management in construction project in planning stage Construction waste is given a great deal of weight on total waste. And it is issued in government policy. But it show the limit of problem. As a result of having referenced idea as describe above, this paper will be studied by this process. First, present condition of development waste, cases is researched in construction projects. Second, problems of development pattern and management system are investigated and checked in project cases. Third, maintenance and management method project are proposed by application of planning Stage.

  • Operation and maintenance stage consists the largest portion of project life cycle cost. Appropriate management and analysis of such stages have massive effect on the total project cost. The effective prediction of optimized repair period is one of main factors in ㅌ management. However, it has been analyzed that the prediction of appropriate repair period revealed limitations in reliability. Therefore, this study suggests a methodology of repair period prediction by dividing finished projects into similar groups with same properties to be compared with the target project using quantitative variables.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the development direction and performance analysis of design review system in design-build project. As a result of surveys, the fairness and transparency of design review system was abruptly increased. But local government has not fairness and transparency. Therefore this research has proposed the integration management and joint application of design review organization in design-build project. So, we expect that the transparency is raised in management of design review committee.

  • A number of construction projects tied to the concerns and decision-making is also very complicated. In addition, more than any other industry, is inherent in many risk factors. In the course of the construction project on risk factors that exist in the early stages of project risk factors to predict in advance and prepare a project by shortening the construction period and project cost as you can to maximize performance. In this study, I proposed risk management processes and how they are used in web-based schedule risk in the process of change management system, and between 3D CAD, 4D CAD taking into account the linkages, risk management strategy process in the BIM environment.
