Characteristic Analysis of Wireless Channels to Construct Wireless Network Environment in Underground Utility Tunnels (지하공동구 내 무선 네트워크 환경구축을 위한 무선채널 특성 분석)

  • The direct and indirect damages caused by fires in underground utility tunnels have a great impact on society as a whole, so efforts are needed to prevent and manage them in advance. To this end, research is ongoing to prevent disasters such as fire flooding by applying digital twin technology to underground utility tunnels. A network is required to transmit the sensed signals from each sensor to the platform. In essence, it is necessary to analyze the application of wireless networks in the underground utility tunnel environments because the tunnel lacks the reception range of external wireless communication systems. Within the underground utility tunnels, electromagnetic interference caused by transmission and distribution cables, and diffuse reflection of signals from internal structures, obstacles, and metallic pipes such as water pipes can cause distortion or size reduction of wireless signals. To ensure real-time connectivity for remote surveillance and monitoring tasks through sensing, it is necessary to measure and analyze the wireless coverage in underground utility tunnels. Therefore, in order to build a wireless network environment in the underground utility tunnels. this study minimized the shaded area and measured the actual cavity environment so that there is no problem in connecting to the wireless environment inside the underground utility tunnels. We analyzed the data transmission rate, signal strength, and signal-to-noise ratio for each section of the terrain of the underground utility tunnels. The obtained results provide an appropriate wireless planning approach for installing wireless networks in underground utility tunnels.

Development of The Yarn Sorting Equipment (khonhook) by Slide Way

  • Development of the yarn sorting equipment (khonhook) by slide way due to the principle of engineering that cause of workers on the long of motion time. The data was collected from the weaving group Ban Nongkok village, Nakornratchasima Province, THAILAND. According to the study, the step of yarn sorting (konhook) was one of the steps that affect long of motion time. The problem was the inadequate capacity equipment. The objective of research was to study and develop the yarn sorting equipment (konhook). The fabric used in the study was 64 meters in length and 1 meter in width. Researchers studied the processes the yarn sorting (konhook) which it consists of seven sub steps, 1) the thread tube setting, 2) yarn bunching, 3) tying a knot at the end of yarn, 4) looping the yarn into a pillar, 5) sorting the yarn (konhook), 6) crossing pillars and 7) taking out the yarn. Researchers focused on studying yarn sorting process (konhook) by designing and creating a device for yarn sorting (konhook) for reducing yarn sorting (konhook) time by the original method performance indicators. The results found that the developed yarn sorting equipment (konhook) ) by slide way could reduce working time from 7.24 minutes to 6.08 minutes of the original equipment yarn sorting (konhook). This means it could make the process 16.02 % faster. This also helps reducing the distance of workers' movement from 2,234 meters to 8 meters. This is 99.64 % shorter.

Load Modeling based on System Identification with Kalman Filtering of Electrical Energy Consumption of Residential Air-Conditioning

  • This paper is proposed mathematical load modelling based on system identification approach of energy consumption of residential air conditioning. Due to air conditioning is one of the significant equipment which consumes high energy and cause the peak load of power system especially in the summer time. The demand response is one of the solutions to decrease the load consumption and cutting peak load to avoid the reservation of power supply from power plant. In order to operate this solution, mathematical modelling of air conditioning which explains the behaviour is essential tool. The four type of linear model is selected for explanation the behaviour of this system. In order to obtain model, the experimental setup are performed by collecting input and output data every minute of 9,385 BTU/h air-conditioning split type with $25^{\circ}C$ thermostat setting of one sample house. The input data are composed of solar radiation ($W/m^2$) and ambient temperature ($^{\circ}C$). The output data are power and energy consumption of air conditioning. Both data are divided into two groups follow as training data and validation data for getting the exact model. The model is also verified with the other similar type of air condition by feed solar radiation and ambient temperature input data and compare the output energy consumption data. The best model in term of accuracy and model order is output error model with 70.78% accuracy and $17^{th}$ order. The model order reduction technique is used to reduce order of model to seven order for less complexity, then Kalman filtering technique is applied for remove white Gaussian noise for improve accuracy of model to be 72.66%. The obtained model can be also used for electrical load forecasting and designs the optimal size of renewable energy such photovoltaic system for supply the air conditioning.

The Influence on Readability by the Visual Characters Layout at the TV Home Shopping Broadcasting (TV홈쇼핑 방송영상 자막화면 구성이 가독성에 미치는 영향)

  • Visual characters used in television affect the viewers in a different way from printed media. This paper analyzed the visual characters presented in each home shopping channel and their year-by-year characteristics in terms of layouts. Based on the results, the readability was analyzed according to different layouts, suggesting optimal layouts that allows for better communication with the viewers. The purpose of this study is thus to focus on the visual character layouts, which have not been fully explored to date, in order to identify the most effective one among basic locations of visual characters. The results indicate that the bottom location shows higher readability than top. The right side showed higher preference than left, while readability did not demonstrate a significant difference. As for the L-bar and reverse L-bar, the L-bar arrangement was shown preferable in terms of readability. Finally, the layout should be determined considering the readability by location.

  • North Korean youth is a youth aged 6 to 18 who lives in a South Korean society after having left North Korea. In this study, photo-in-education (PIE) provides North Korean youths with opportunities for cultural and arts education, and to help them adjust themselves to South Korean society. As a result, they, as young people who are exploring a new life in South Korea, have been able to express their own inner world through photos, videos, and writings. Also, young people have developed a bright and clear mind, and enhanced an expressive power and logical power that helps grow healthily and intelligently. Further, it is the aim of this education to help them to have a positive feeling for society and to do their best to become a healthy member of society, who will be able to contribute to society. Through PIE, it was found that North Korean defectors were able to see themselves positively and express their own inner self positively, despite that they are still in the negative and shady side of life.

  • This paper describes an insole FFO(Functional Foot Orthosis) model for comfortable walking by considering weight distribution. There are many ways to make an insole FFO model such as using 3D computer graphics, or plaster manually. Thus, we proposed a standardized way to make an insole model, specifically called, robust and automatically personalized deformable insole model. Our proposed method showed 0.8cm average error compared between our proposed auto-deformable insole model and the other insole model manually deformed by experts. Therefore, our proposed method can be an efficient way to make a customized insole model with small error compared to the manually customized insole model.

Improving The Performance of Scalable Reliable Multicast over Wired and Wireless Networks using a Retransmission Function (재전송 기능을 이용한 유무선 통합망에서의 Scalable Reliable Multicast 성능 개선)

  • This paper presents a method to improve the performance of Scalable Multicast Protocol deployed in wired and wireless network by adding retransmission function on base stations. When using Scalable Multicast Protocol over wireless and wired networks, packet drops on the wireless link produce the initiation of retransmission request packets and the implosion of retransmission packets, which deteriorate the multicast session performance. The efficient reliable multicast mechanism in wireless networks utilizing the retransmission function on the base station is addressed in this paper. We explain the design of a retransmission function which improves the performance of Scalable Multicast Protocol sessions in wireless and wirednetwork. The main idea is to cache Scalable Multicast Protocol packets at the base station and perform local retransmissions across the wireless link. ARENA has been used to simulate and to get performance for reducing signaling overhead and processing delay through the comparison of the proposed function to the Scalable Multicast Protocol.

  • Director Shin, Dong-il is one of the artists who is constantly pursuing his own work theme with his artistic insistence in the Korean film industry. He is an artist who criticizes modern society's systems, ideologies, and ills and questions them all the time. (2017), which he introduced in eight years after , is an extension of the work theme pursued by previous works, but it is a work that shows a different change from previous works. In this paper, I divide the world of works Shin, Dong-il pursues into three types of Others, Boundaries, and Drives, analyzing the common points and changes of . And through such analysis, I will examine the work theme of Director Shin Dong-il and measure the direction of change.

  • The development of Human Computer Interface has been relied on the development of technology. Mice and keyboards are the most popular HCI devices for personal computing. However, device-based interfaces are quite different from human to human interaction and very artificial. To develop more intuitive interfaces which mimic human to human interface has been a major research topic among HCI researchers and engineers. Also, technology in the TV industry has rapidly developed and the market penetration rate for big size screen TVs has increased rapidly. The HDTV and digital TV broadcasting are being tested. These TV environment changes require changes of Human to TV interface. A gesture recognition-based interface with a computer vision system can replace the remote control-based interface because of its immediacy and intuitiveness. This research focuses on how people use their hands or arms for command gestures. A set of gestures are sampled to control TV set up by focus group interviews and surveys. The result of this paper can be used as a reference to design a computer vision based TV interface.

  • Huge amounts of contents are being uploaded every day on various streaming platforms. Among those videos, game and sports videos account for a great portion. The broadcasting companies sometimes create and provide highlight videos. However, these tasks are time-consuming and costly. In this paper, we propose models that automatically predict highlights in games and sports matches. While most previous approaches use visual information exclusively, our models use both audio and visual information, and present a way to understand short term and long term flows of videos. We also describe models that combine GAN to find better highlight features. The proposed models are evaluated on e-sports and baseball videos.
