  • In this paper, we give the differential equations characterizing the timelike and spacelike curves of constant breadth in Minkowski 3-space $E^3_1$. Furthermore, we give a criterion for a timelike or spacelike curve to be the curve of constant breadth in $E^3_1$. As an example, the obtained results are applied to the case $\rho$ = const. and $k_2$ = const., and are discussed.

Error Wire Locating Technology with Breadth-first Search Algorithm (Breadth-first 검색 알고리즘을 이용한 와이어 오류 검출에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays the automotive circuit design becomes more complicated a practical modern car circuit usually contains thousands of wires. So the error connection between connector and pins becomes more difficult to be located. This paper proposes a general way to locate all error wires in an automotive circuit design. Firstly, we give an exact definition of error wire to guide our job. This definition also composes the core part of our algorithm. Then we limit the area of the error wires by several steps. During these steps, we apply breadth-first search method to step over all wires under consideration of reducing time cost. In addition, we apply bidirectional stack technique to organize the data structure for algorithm optimization. This algorithm can get a result with all error wires and doubtful wires in a very efficient way. The analysis of this algorithm shows that the complexity is linear. We also discuss some possible improvement of this algorithm.

A Study on Women′s Face Types Classification by Visual Distinction and Difference from the Measurement (시각적 판단에 의한 얼굴유형 분류와 계측 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify women's face types by visual distinction and to analyze the measurement of face types. A survey was conducted by subjects of 167 women's college students in Kwangju City and Chonnam area. Data were analyzed by Frequencies, Mean, one way ANOVA and Ducan's Multiple Range Test. The major results were as followed ; ·Women's face types were classified by 7 types and there were oblong shape(28.3%), egg shape(25.7%), round shape(23.9%), square shape(12.4%), inverted triangle shape(5.3%), diamond shape(3.5%), triangle shape(0.8%) in the subjects. ·From the measurements of the women's face, index of face length to face breadth was 1.38, it means that the index was different from the other refferences. And the lower face length was longer than the upper and the middle face lengths. ·Differences From those measurements like forehead breadth, face length/bizigion breath(p〈.001), bizigion breadth, bignathion slopper, stature(p〈.01) and trichion breadth, tragion-menton length(p〈.05) were significant in the classified face types.

A Study on the Jacket Pattern for Elderly Women (노년여성을 위한 재킷패턴 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an appropriate jacket pattern for elderly women over sixty years old, providing a good fit and appearance. Results were as follows: The length of the jacket was made long enough to cover the area 22.0cm below the waistline. The waist back length was made 1.7cm longer than the actual size of the waist back length. The armhole length was made 0.5cm longer than B/4, enhacing the appearance and functionality while allowing freer movement of the arms. As for the front and back interscye breadths, the front interscye breadth was made 1.7cm larger than the actual size while the back interscye breadth was only 1.0cm larger, providing the front interscye breadth more space. The bust breadth was made 10.0cm larger than the bust circumference measure(B/4+2.5cm), the waist breadth was made 6.0cm larger than the waist circumference measure(W/4+1.5cm), The hip breadth was made 12.0cm larger than the him circumference measure(H/4+3.0cm). The sleeve length was made 3.0cm larger than the arm length measure, as the sleeve length of a jacket is usually long enough to cover the ulnar styloid. The sleeve width was made 5.0cm larger than the upper arm circumference measure, as the upper arm circumference measure of the model pattern was too large than necessary, worsening the overall appearance. The sleeve cap height was set at AH/4+4.7cm. The wrist circumference of 27.0cm was set, allowing 2/3 and 1/3 for the large sleeve and small sleeve respectively.

A Study on Appropriate Breadth for U-turn Setup (U-turn 설치를 위한 적정 폭원에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, the minimum breadth as a point available for U-turn setup is designated as "over 9m for one way" in the traffic safety facilities practical manuals, and vehicles allowed to make a U-turn are limited to passenger cars. However, as passenger cars have recently become larger and SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) are being popularized, they fail to make a U-turn in one attempt. This causes a traffic jam and a problem with traffic safety. This study proposed, compared, and tested the measured values of actual differences in the turning radius of U-turn by actual cars with estimated values by using PC-Crash, a car accident simulation program. Then, the study forecasted the turning radius of U-turns of Korean passenger cars by using PC-Crash, and proposed appropriate breadth for U-turn setup.

Mathematical Constants for Non-Destructive Rapid Method of Leaf Area Determination in Mulberry (Morus spp.)

  • Mathematical constants for multiplication with leaf length (I) or breadth (b) or l ${\times}$ b have been worked out for determining leaf area in promising mulberry genotypes viz., Chinese White, S-146, Chak Majra and Sujanpur Local of sub-tropical India. When pooled, the mathematical constants worked out were 8.1132, 10.1019 and 0.5992 for multiplication with leaf length, breadth and l ${\times}$ b, respectively, for genotypes bearing un-lobbed leaves and 6.9447, 8.2761 and 0.5009 for multiplication with leaf length, breadth and l ${\times}$ b, respectively for genotypes bearing lobbed leaves. Leaf area can be worked out by using any constant by multiplying either with leaf length or breadth or both (l ${\times}$ b). Estimated leaf areas worked out were found significantly and positively correlated with actual leaf area (r=999$^{**}$). The suggested present non-destructive method by using mathematical constants is very quick and alternative to electronic leaf area meter for spot leaf area determination in mulberry which is the only food source for mulberry silkworm in sericulture industry.

The Factors Affecting Breadth and Depth of Diffusion for Knowledge Management Systems (지식관리시스템의 수직적 확산과 수평적 확산에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This study primarily aims at identifying what factors significantly affect the diffusion of knowledge management systems(KMS) and finding out how these identified factors can be effectively managed, especially for Korean companies. The research model is derived based on previous researches on innovation diffusion, information systems implementation, and KMS. The model is used to examine the role of determinants in influencing the extent to which KMS is diffused within organizations. Independent variables of this research are composed of technical characteristics, organizational characteristics and environmental characteristics. 'Breadth of diffusion' and 'depth of diffusion' concept are used to measure the extent of KMS diffusion which is the dependent variable of this model. The 101 companies of total 1,000 samples responded to the survey. To analyze tile results of this empirical study, we performed the multiple regression analysis. As a result, it was shown that the relative advantage, complexity, information system maturity, size, top management support, champion, competitive pressure have influences on both the breadth and the depth diffusions. On the other hand, the organizational culture, valuation and compensation, and uncertainty of environmental factors were not verified to be significant. This empirical study will provide Korean companies with insights into effective ways to diffuse the KMS and succeed in business competition.
