  • As part of city marketing, many local governments are recently developing or have already developed a slogan for their own city brand. This study aims to provide basic source materials for an efficient and more systematic way in current development of the slogan for a city brand. Therefore, this study compared and analyzed the cases for developing the slogan for a city brand in Korea and in other nations, presenting some feasible solutions. As for the characteristics of the slogans for city brands in Korea, they were all campaign-type slogans with a single-component structure that includes the city's name. They mostly used values as their subject material. The basic requirements for producing a successful city-brand slogan include the emphasis on the quality of being unique and differentiated. A city-brand slogan must incorporate the kind of natural environment, the culture, the history, etc that are unique to the region in order to become a creative and unique slogan. Rather than being swayed by short-term trends, a city-brand slogan must have a long term vision and strategy as well as a clear and accurate setup. Also, a city-brand slogan will proliferate and create values as a brand when shared communications with all local residents continue to occur after developing the slogan.

However, his eclectic taste and artistic expressions combined with his minimal and abstract architectural approaches are being recognized in many places globally, especially in many fashion brand stores such as Channel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Fendi. Recently the brand recognition of consumers changed into the variable one that for the various reasons from the rigid in the past and a smart impression of each BI become more important for this reason. The concept of individual brand identity started out from the concept of a simple ornament on the early vehicles. Therefore it is not necessary to advertise the brand itself for the brand that has the relatively long history, while the new brand or maker has to get the reputation on the brand from the consumers. For these reasons, recent automotive BI is on the way of diversifying both in the simple and abstractive design and the physical finish of materials that is used for and the production method and glamorous trend, which is more evident on the BI of the new brands.

As for customer equity, diversified models in consideration of the scope of acquisition data, a method of collection of data, influencing factor, and predictability were suggested based on a net present value model. However, the history of customer equity study is relatively short, and sufficient empirical analyses have not been conducted, so more integrated analysis is required.
