The Relationship among Influencer Interpersonal Trust, Brand Image and Purchase Intention for SNS(Social Network Service) Users (SNS 이용자들의 인플루언서 대인신뢰, 브랜드이미지 및 구매의도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among SNS users' interpersonal trust, brand image and purchase intention. A total of 335 questionnaires were collected during 6 days by Embrain online research company. Collected data were analyzed by SPSSWIN and AMOS program and frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, validity test, correlation analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed. The results of verifying the relationship among variables are as follows. First, SNS users' interpersonal trust in influencers had positively influenced by brand image. Second, brand image sold by influencers had positively influenced by purchase intention. Third, SNS users' interpersonal trust in influencers had a significant effect on purchase intention.

Effects of Advertising Characteristics, Mental Simulation and Self-brand Connections on Purchase Intention

  • Purpose: This paper aims to investigate whether consumers' mental simulation and self-brand connections influence purchase intention and how the characteristics of advertisings' nonverbal information (congruence among multisensory cues) and verbal messages (self-referencing point and narrative structure) jointly shape mental simulation and self-brand connections. Research design, data and methodology: This paper develops a sportswear advertising and totally collected 225 data through the online survey platform "WenJuanXing". To exam the hypotheses in this paper, structural equation model is conducted in AMOS 21.0 via using 210 valid data. Results: The findings reveal that consumers who engage in mental simulation or establish the connections between them and the brands are more likely to present high purchase intention. Moreover, the characteristics of congruence among multisensory cues, self-referencing points and narrative structure can not only facilitate consumers' mental simulation but also encourage consumers to create connections between them and the brands. Conclusions: This paper develops the advertising research via exploring the characteristics of advertisings' nonverbal information (multisensory cues) and verbal messages simultaneously. And suggesting that both of consumers' mental simulation and self-brand connections are the important approaches for advertisers to effectively increase consumers' purchase intention. Finally, the limitations and suggestions are concluded for the future research.

How do consumers' perceptions of brands change? - Investigating a fashion brand's green marketing, authenticity, and purchase intention in the context of greenwashing - (소비자의 브랜드에 대한 인식은 어떻게 변하는가? - 그린워싱 상황에서 그린 마케팅 활동, 브랜드 진정성, 구매의도를 중심으로 -)

  • Fashion companies and brands' marketing activities focus on resolving environmental problems; however, these companies' efforts, there are some examples of so-called "greenwashing". This paper aims to analyze different perceptions of brand authenticity, green marketing, and purchase intention toward the brand before and after exposure to case information about greenwashing. A total of 211 data were gathered and analyzed using SPSS 25.0. Respondents were asked to respond to same questionnaires related to green marketing and the brand authenticity before and after their exposure to greenwashing information. The study participants' perceptions of green marketing from the brand were statistically significantly negatively changed after exposure compared to before exposure. Similar patterns in results were found in the context of consumers' perception of brand authenticity (genuineness, originality, and consistency), and purchase intention. The originality of this study is in evaluating consumers' perception of greenwashing focused on brand authenticity. The findings of the study suggest that if a fashion brand's green marketing activity is perceived as greenwashing by consumers, the perceptions of green marketing, brand authenticity, and purchase intention can all decline. It is suggested that fashion brands need to develop a sincere and truthful green marketing campaigns to keep and enhance their brand authenticity.

The Effect of Review Attributes on Brand Attitude, Purchase Decision and e-WOM Intention in Online Shopping Mall (온라인 쇼핑몰에서의 리뷰 속성이 브랜드 태도, 구매결정 및 온라인 구전의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study classifies review attributes into ratings, number of comments and image information in online shopping mall to verify their impact on brand attitude and purchase decision and e-WOM intention. Use SPSS 23.0 for frequency analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis. The results showed that review attributes have a positive effect on brand attitudes, purchase decision and e-WOM intention, but the number of comments has not affect on purchase decision. Brand attitude has a positive effect on purchase decision and e-WOM intention. Brand attitude has media effect in the relationship between ratings, image information and purchase decision, and in the relationship between review attributes and e-WOM intention. As these results, consumers don't always like to have a lot of comments. and should allow to focus on high ratings and photo reviews as much as possible when writing reviews.

A Study on VMD of SPA Brands and Purchasing Intention: Focus on Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do

  • Purpose - This study investigates the effect of visual merchandising display (VMD) of local specialty retailer of private label apparel (SPA) brands, such as space, display, and presentation on brand awareness, brand image, and purchase intention. It investigates consumers' VMD awareness and purchase intention of SPA brands to help business activities of local SPA enterprises. Research designs, data, methodology - This study uses SPSS 18.0 to study eight local SPA brands and has 193 effective usable copies from a sample of 200. Results - The display and presentation of VMDs of SPA brands had a positive influence on brand awareness and brand image, which in turn had a positive influence on purchase intention. Conclusions - As SPA brands are increasingly located in supercenters, they face space constraints and find it difficult to display their facade and signs effectively. Therefore, decisions pertaining to display, presentation, and space should consider whether these SPA brands are launched as independent specialty shops or in supercenters. The space for VMD is considered important in independent shops. However, shops that open in supercenters should pay more attention to presentation rather than space.

  • This study was motivated by consideration of advertising effects on purchase intention of hotel customers in the situation that people can experience in web advertisements more easily and quickly through four main media. We intends to propose strategic web advertising marketing plans by investigating the relation among hotel web advertising attributions, advertising attitude, brand attitude and purchase intention of customers. In conclusion, in the situation that hotel service industry endeavors a lot to attract young customers, according to gentrified consumption culture and changes in an environmental trend, these results are expected to be used as data to establish web advertising marketing strategies to show trendy brand images to hotel customers, especially consumers of N Generation using official websites of hotels.

Influence of Older Consumers' Future Time Perspective on the Intention to Purchase Masstige Brand Fashion Products

  • Purpose: This study explores the relationship between future time perspective and older consumers' masstige product consumption, specifically, their intention to purchase masstige brand products, with a focus on their motivational drives from an functional value and symbolic value perspective. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 419 people aged 54 to 64 years in South Korea and the hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling. Results: Our results indicated that middle-aged and older consumers who have expanded future time perspective have higher intention to purchase masstige brands and their functional value and symbolic value of masstige brands were found to mediate future time perspective and intention to purchase masstige brands. Conclusions: The findings offer insights into masstige brand consumption by older South Korean consumers that may be useful for both academics and marketers.

A Study on Brand Loyalty and Repurchase Intention of SPA Clothing Brand Related to Lifestyles of Female College Students (여대생의 라이프스타일과 SPA 의류상표의 상표충성도 및 재구매의도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the differences of post-purchase satisfaction, brand loyalty, and repurchase intention of SPA clothing brand according to lifestyles, and to disclose how lifestyles, post-purchase satisfaction, and brand loyalty influence the repurchase intention. The research method was a survey method using questionnaires. The subjects were 304 female college students residing in Seoul metropolitan area. The lifestyles were classified into six factors including pursuit of challenges, proactive interpersonal relationship, interest in sports, self-centeredness, interest in IT, and achievement orientation. Three female groups were derived by cluster analysis of the 6 lifestyle factors: active-activity type, passive-activity type, and achievement-pursuit type. Brand loyalty was classified into two factors including continuing loyalty and convenient loyalty. First, the active-activity group showed higher convenient loyalty than the other groups. The achievement-pursuit group showed higher post-purchase satisfaction than the other groups in appearance of clothing, while the passive-activity group showed lower satisfaction in every factor, in particular, its price satisfaction was very low. Second, senior students showed higher continuing loyalty than freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students with more clothing expenses showed higher continuing loyalty as well as convenient loyalty than those with less clothing expenses. Their price satisfaction with SPA clothing brand as well as repurchase intention was higher. Third, repurchase intention was influenced by brand loyalty the most, and the next in the order by satisfaction level with brand, satisfaction with price, satisfaction level with appearance, and proactive interpersonal relationship. The brand loyalty was influenced by satisfaction level with price the most, and the next by satisfaction level with appearance.

Brand Authenticity Mediated the Effect of Brand Authority and Ethicality on Purchase and Word-of-mouth Intention (브랜드 권위성과 윤리성이 구매·추천의도에 미치는 영향에 있어서 브랜드 진정성의 매개효과)

  • Prior researches on brand authenticity so far have focused on the scale development for measuring brand authenticity. However, at the point of time it is necessary to consider the utilization of the proposed scale in an integrative approach. Accordingly, this study aims to examine brand authenticity mediated the effect of brand authority and ethicality on purchase and word-of-mouth intention. The survey method was used for this paper, and data from a total of 136 office workers were used for the analysis. And structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results of this empirical study is summarized as followings. First, brand authority and ethicality do not have a direct effect on purchase and word-of-mouth intention but brand authenticity mediates the effect of brand authority and ethicality. Second, brand authority and ethicality have positive effect on brand authenticity. This study provides information on the purchase and word-of-mouth intention of salary man. Further, it will provide meaning suggestion point of the importance of brand authenticity in establishing the policy of brand management.

The Effects of Idol Human Brand's Characteristics on Consumer's Idol Human Brand Attachment, Desire to Imitate, Desire to Identify, and Purchase Intention (아이돌 휴먼브랜드의 특성이 소비자의 아이돌 휴먼브랜드 애착, 모방 욕구, 동일시 욕구와 패션 제품 구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The popularity of K-pop, the development of diverse media and communications, and rapid globalization are increasing consumers' attachment to celebrities. These celebrities, called "Human brand", have a growing impact on consumers. However, research on idol celebrities has been conducted mainly on teenagers. Furthermore, there are limits to the studies on consumers' attachment to idol celebrities who do not advertise specific products and intention to purchase products which are not advertised but related to the idol human brand. Therefore, this study has been conducted on 301 out of 400 adult women in their twenties to forties in Korea to examine the relationship between the characteristics of the idol human brand, attachment to the idol human brand, desire to imitate the idol human brand, desire to identify with the idol human brand and its fandom community, and the effect on purchase intention. For the statistical analysis, SPSS and AMOS were used. The study found that the characteristics of the idol human brand which are trust, professionality, social attractiveness, and physical attractiveness positively influenced attachment to the idol human brand. The attachment to the idol human brand positively affected the imitation desire toward the idol human brand, and the identification desire with the idol human brand, and to identify with its fandom community. Additionally, the desire to imitate and to identify with the idol human brand and its fandom community positively affected the intention. Furthermore, the relationships between all variables were found to have a significant mediating effect.
