  • This study developed three indices for evaluating regional brand value, i.e. awareness index, experience index, and attractiveness index. We used an AHP approach to estimate these indices for 151 rural regions (151 administrative jurisdictions in Korea). Our estimation results show that regional brand index varies considerably across regions by the individual characteristics of interviewee. First, the value of regional brand of local jurisdiction is higher than that of more integrated administrative jurisdiction. Second, the brand value of Gangwon and Jeolla region is higher than that of other regions. Third, the interviewees with school children in the age of 40-50 are likely to have higher regional brand value. The estimation results also show a need for different strategies to develop and improve regional brand.

  • In automotive engineering, the brand sound is one of the important advantage strategy in a car company. For the design of brand sound, the selection of descriptive word for a car sound is one of major works in automotive sound quality research. In paper, booming sound and rumbling sound, which are professional words used by NVH engineers are used for the design of brand sound. We employed sound metrics which are the subjective parameter used in psychoacoustics. According to most research results, the relationship between subjective evaluations and sound metrics has nonlinear characteristics and is very complex. In order to link these subjective evaluations to sound metrics, the artificial neural network technology has been applied to two-dimensional sound quality index for a passenger car. These indexes is used for 46 passenger cars, which are samples of famous cars in the world. Also the preference in car sounds is evaluated by the trained NVH engineers. We coupled this preference with booming and rumbling sounds by using artificial neural network. In future, the two -dimensional sound index and preference index are very useful fur the development of brand sound in passenger cars.

  • In recent, the marketing competitions that stimulates the emotions of consumers are intensifying in the domestic construction industry due to the increase of unsold new apartments. However, there is a need for brand identity establishment through which more differentiated information can be delivered to the consumers, as each brand is focusing only on idealistic image advertisements of dream, future and happiness. Accordingly in this study, the top five brand apartments according to the national brand value evaluation index (BSTI, BrandStock Top Index) were selected and analyzed their TV advertisement characteristics, and its purpose is in evaluating the brand images perceived by the consumers of their TV advertisements. The significance of the results from this study is in presenting the basic information for establishing effective communication between the corporations and consumers. The survey research of this study was conducted for the students of D University, and SPSS 14.0 program was used for the statistical data analysis.

  • Due to the dramatic increase in consumers' price sensitivity and growing importance for global retailers to create relevant price strategies, this study investigates the global pricing strategy of the main SPA brands such as ZARA, H&M and UNIQLO. Based on price information shown on official website, the study developed SPA brand index by using exchange rates in terms of US dollars and ratio of differences between the local price and the US price. These figures were compared with GDP per person data in order to analyze each brand's price level against the income level. The study also compared SPA brand index with Big Mac index to identify the difference in price levels between the fast fashion market and the fast food market. ZARA and H&M were mostly targeting Middle East and Asia as a high-price market when considering index only. After taking the income level into account, however, Asia came out be the highest price market and Middle East was similar to the US market. On the other hand, UNIQLO targeted Asia as the lowest price market and the US and EU as the highest in terms of index only. But, Asia came out to be the highest price zone after considering the income level while the price of the US and EU was reasonable. Comparison with Big Mac Index indicated that most of Asia had a higher price level of the fashion market than the food market, whereas most European countries had a similar or high-price level of food market.

  • Regional brands are recognized for their importance as one of the local public relations policies, but only the methods promoted by local government officials and outside experts are revealing limitations in self-reliance and sustainability. In order for a regional brand to succeed, it is necessary to develop and manage a brand that fits the characteristics of the region together with various stakeholders including residents. In this study, it was confirmed that regional brand evaluation indicators may vary depending on the stage of co-creation in the design process for regional brand development, and the type of value co-creation was determined through a classification method using the results of the evaluation index. According to the results of the study, the type of value co-creation that fits the local situation and characteristics can be derived by adjusting the stage of co-creation execution in the design process.

The purposes of this study was to analyze the fashion brands through correlation analysis between top of mind, recall, recognition, impact index and consumer behavior, and to identify the graveyard brand, niche brand and core brand. 33 questions about 20 fashion brands were asked to 442 males and females from the middle school students to age of 40. Data were analyzed mean, standard deviation, frequency, and correlation by using SPSS 12.0. The results were as follows: 1. Top of mind, recall and recognition affected recognizing the brands and including evoked setting, but it didn't lead the customer to purchase the brand. 2. Although top of the mind and recall are high, the percentage of purchasing the brand is relatively low if a consumer doesn't own the brand. 3. • The earlier studies have verified that brand values have significant impact on financial values such as stock return and stock price to justify marketing costs for brand building. Except for Mizik and Jacobson (2008), however, little research has addressed what kinds of brand components composing brand values have a significant relationship with financial values. As a follow-up research of Mizik and Jacobson (2008), this research focuses on what kinds of relationships exist between the unanticipated change of each brand asset component and stock return, one of the financial values. The authors selected six brand asset components from the Korea-Brand Power Index(K-BPI) data in which 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' and 'Aided Awareness' are brand awareness measures and 'Image,' 'Purchase Intention,' and 'Preference' are brand loyalty measures. Out of those six brand components, they found that unanticipated changes of 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' 'Image,' and 'Preference' have significantly positive effect on unexpected stock return change. Therefore, they conclude that these four brand asset components provide incremental information in explaining unanticipated stock return.

  • Competition among cities has become fierce with decentralization and globalization, and each city tries to establish a brand image of the city to build its competitiveness and implement its policies based on it. At this time, surveys, expert interviews, etc. are commonly used to establish city brands. These methods are difficult to establish as sampling methods an empirical component, the biggest component of a city brand. In this paper, therefore, based on the precedent research's urban brand measurement and components, the words representing each city image property were extracted and relocated to five indicators to form the evaluation index. The constructed indicators have been validated through the review of three experts. Through the index, we analyzed the brands of four cities, Ulsan, Incheon, Yeosu, and Gyeongju, and identified the factors by using Topic Modeling and Word Cloud. This methodology is expected to reduce costs and monitor timely in identifying and analyzing urban brand images in the future.
