  • Poisson-Boltzmann equation (PBE) is used to model problems arising from various disciplinary including bio-pysics and colloid chemistry. Therefore, to predict a numerical solution of PBE is an important issue. The authors proposed deep learning based methods to solve PBE while the computational time to generate finite element method (FEM) solutions were bottlenecks of the algorithms. In this work, we shorten the generation time of FEM solutions in two directions. First, we experimentally find certain penalty parameter in a bilinear form. Second, we applied algebraic multigrids methods to the algebraic system so that condition number is bounded regardless of the meshsize. In conclusion, we have reduced computation times to solve algebraic systems for PBE. We expect that algebraic multigrids methods can be further employed in various disciplinary to generate deep learning samples.

  • The purpose of present study is to discover the meaning of the Eogul(억울) which is known as a emotion from perceived unfairness. Even though Eogul has been mentioned as a cause of the Hwabyung in Korean culture there were few studies about it. Researchers designed two studies to provide clear understanding for this concept. In study 1, researchers conducted an open-ended questionnaire for 44 participants to deduce the cultural contexts and the whole experience on Eogul. Data were analyzed with grounded theory, the results were cross-checked by different evaluators. According to the analysis, Eogul is not only the negative feelings from the perceived unfairness, but also the motivations and behaviors to resolve the feelings. Especially, what makes Eogul culture-bounded could be related display rules on expressing emotions. We conducted study 2 to clarify the cultural attributes of Eogul in Korean culture. Variables that explain cultural differences were chosen and 123 participants were surveyed with them including the items developed for measuring Eogul. Cultural meanings and implications of Eogul were discussed with the results.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the economic benefit of improving ground water quality in Jeju Island, where groundwater pollution has recently become a social issue and various water quality improvement projects are being promoted. By applying the contingent valuation method, an online survey was conducted on Jeju Island residents to analyze the response data of 542 respondents and estimate the mean willingness to pay using 16 models. The estimation of the double-bounded dichotomous choice model confirmed that each household was willing to pay 28,008 won per year, with the willingness to pay estimated at a minimum of 17,762 won and a maximum of 37,416 won based on different models. The total annual benefit for Jeju Island's ground water quality improvement was estimated to be about 8.66 billion won , and socioeconomic factors influencing willingness-to-pay were investigated. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of environmental improvement policies by assisting in the understanding of Jeju Island's unique water resource environment.

  • Bamboo culm is in the form of a tube/pipe, composed of internodes which are bounded by a partition/diaphragm (node). Anatomically, bamboo is composed of vascular bundles and parenchyma ground tissue. One of the constituents of vascular bundles is fibers that are grouped to form a fiber sheath. The anatomical structure of the nodes and internodes is thought to influence the strength of bamboo strips, including tensile strength. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of vascular bundles (distribution and fiber percentage) and their effects on the density and tensile strength of Gigantochloa apus bamboo strips with and without nodes. The bamboo culms were divided into three parts (outer, middle, and inner) along the radial direction. The results showed that the distribution of vascular bundles and percentage of fiber sheaths decreased significantly from the outer to the inner layer. This also had a significantly decreased density and tensile strength. Furthermore, the number of vascular bundles (in the transverse plane) was greater in the internodes than in the nodes. Anatomically, the orientation of the vascular bundles at irregular nodes is observed in the radial and tangential planes, where the direction is not only in the axial direction, but also in the radial and tangential directions. This caused the tensile strength of the G. apus bamboo strips to be lower at the nodes than at the internodes.

  • The study explored the key factors(content satisfaction factor, functional satisfaction factor, inertia factor and situational factor) that influence OTT users' continued use from the perspective of Behavioral Economics. In addition to rational factors that make OTT users feel satisfied after experiencing the contents and functions by the platform, we assumed that it would also affect habitual factors from the 'status quo bias'. To verify this, an online survey was conducted on 523 adults in 20s and 40s who have subscribed to the Top3 OTT platform(Netflix, Wavve, and Tving). As a result of regression analysis, 'content satisfaction factor', 'functional satisfaction factor' and 'inertia factor' were significant in OTT continued use. 'Inertia factor' did not affect domestic OTT users. Unlike previous studies that supposed OTT service users as beings with complete rationality, this study is meaningful to explain OTT continued use by applying 'bounded rationality'.

  • Cheong is a unique feeling of Koreans. Cheong is one of the most commonly felt psychological dimensions that Koreans encounter in their daily life. Cheong is bounded by ties of affection, regard, shared common experiences and feeling of connectiveness between persons. Thus Korean customers may be influenced by Cheong on behavior intention in the marketing context. This study examines the effect of Cheong on behavior intention in the service industry. The result shows that Cheong has a meaningful effect on behavior intention but not much on satisfaction. This implies that continuing relationship between customers and service providers is influenced by Cheong.

  • As platforms become primary decision making tools, platforms for decision have been introduced to improve quality of decision results. Because, decision platforms applied augmented decision-making process which uses experiences and feedback of users. This process creates a variety of alternatives tailored for users' abilities and characteristics. However, platform users choose alternatives before considering significant quality factors based on securing decision quality. In real world, platform managers use an algorithm that distorts appropriate alternatives for their commercial benefits. For improving quality of decision-making, preceding researches approach trying to increase rational decision -making ability based on experiences and feedback. In order to overcome bounded rationality, users interact with the machine to approach the optional situation. Differentiated from previous studies, our study focused more on characteristics of users while they use decision platforms. This study investigated the impact of quality factors on decision-making using platforms, the dimensions of systematic factors and user characteristics. Systematic factors such as platform reliability, data quality, and user characteristics such as user abilities and biases were selected, and measuring variables which trust, satisfaction, and loyalty of decision platforms were selected. Based on these quality factors, a structural equation research model was created. A survey was conducted with 391 participants using a 7-point Likert scale. The hypothesis that quality factors affect trust was proved to be valid through path analysis of the structural equation model. The key findings indicate that platform reliability, data quality, user abilities, and biases affect the trust, satisfaction and loyalty. Among the quality factors, group bias of users affects significantly trust of decision platforms. We suggest that quality factors of decision platform consist of experience-based and feedback-based decision-making with the platform's network effect. Through this study, the theories of decision-making are empirically tested and the academic scope of platform-based decision-making has been further developed.

  • Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nano-sized lipid bilayer vesicles released by cells. EVs act as messengers for cell-to-cell communication. Inside, it contains various substances that show biological activity, such as proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and metabolites. The study of EVs extracted from terrestrial organisms and stem cells on inflammatory environments and tissue regeneration have been actively conducted. However, marine organisms-derived EVs are limited. Therefore, we have extracted EVs from sea urchins belonging to the Echinoderm group with their excellent regenerative ability. First, we extracted extracellular matrix (ECM) from sea urchin gonads treated with hypotonic buffer, followed by collagenase treatment, and filtration to collect ECM-bounded EVs. The size of sea urchin gonad-derived EVs (UGEVs) is about 20-100 nm and has a round shape. The protein content was higher after EVs burst than before, which is evidence that proteins are contained inside. In addition, proteins of various sizes are distributed inside. PKH-26 was combined with UGEVs, which means that UGEVs have a lipid membrane. PHK-26-labeled UGEVs were successfully uptaken by cells. UGEVs can be confirmed to have the same characteristics as traditional EVs. Finally, it was confirmed that Schwann cells were not toxic by increasing proliferation after treatment.

  • The growing interest in the privacy paradox involving discussions about discrepancy between attitude and behavior led to an increase in the number of studies on the topic. An in-depth theoretical review of the privacy paradox is essential to promote qualitative growth of domestic research in the privacy paradox. In this study, we conducted literature review of existing domestic studies in the privacy paradox. The results of this study showed that the quantity and the quality of research showed marked improvement. Earlier studies primarily focused on the existence of the privacy paradox phenomenon, but existing studies on the causes of the phenomenon gradually increased. Despite the use of various methodologies and analytical tools to investigate the causes of the privacy paradox, research in privacy paradox remains in its infancy. Further efforts are needed to achieve qualitative growth, and further studies should be conducted to introduce the behavioral economic approach. This approach posits that bounded rationality could contribute to a clear understanding of the privacy paradox and the academic development of the privacy field.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the geology, geologic structure, hydrogeology and geomorphic characteristics of the Nari Basin and establish the controls on the discharge of water 20,000~40,000 m3/day from the Choosan Yongchulso, Ulleung Island, South Korea. Pumice and lapilli tuffs showing well-developed stratification are the predominant rock types surrounding the spring. The spring shows a structure whereby discharge occurs along a lens-like erosion cave formed by differential erosion of strata comprising tuff or pumice tuff. The Choosan Yongchulso is located at the point where the planation surface of the Nari Basin' ends and steep slopes begin. The basin is bounded on all sides by these steep slopes, except in the north, where the Choosan Yongchulso is located. Given these geomorphic characteristics, the Choosan Yongchulso is regarded as the ultimate outlet of the basin catchment area.
