  • The purpose of this study is to find out how the evolution of digital play in virtualization and digital play tools are combined with and stereotyping the properties of traditional play. Virtualization characteristics and play theory were examined and the case was derived in four types and analyzed in four play properties with Roser Cailliois. In the case of Agon, the targets of mutual competition are expanded to singular and plural, computer and oneself of the future, and Mimicry showed the ambiguity of the segments and boundaries crossing the on-off line boundary, and in the case of Alea, the diversity of accident occurrence by immediacy and simultaneity has been strengthened, and in the case of Ilinx, the maximization of immersion has been developed and experimented with a variety of techniques for the utilization of senses and tools and the virtuality for this. As a result, play is developing due to the tendency to expand and coexist in time and space by various fusion combinations.

  • In the early 20st century, created distrust on the mechanistic and dualistic view based on the world of Descartes and Newton. As the features of this new science cannot be explained by the existing Western philosophy but can be explained by the thinking system immanent in the Oriental traditional thought, many scientists and philosophers are concentrating their interests on the Oriental philosophy. In addition, some have been making efforts to find solutions needed for a new paradigm from the thinking system of the Orient. A variety of discussions have also been raised in connection with architecture due to this philosophical change. It has now become possible to conduct free creative acts, staying away from physical limitations, including gravity by diversified simulations through a computer. This physical liberation in turn has caused new changes to the spatial concept of architecture, thereby granting the freedom of the expression that could not be even imagined before and opening a possibility of new architecture and space. At the same time, the digital space architecture actively accommodating this technology is generating a phenomenon that the existing physical and realistic things are rapidly being changed gradually to immaterial and unrealistic ones. This study has analyzed the properties of digital architectural space as the immateriality of our traditional architectural space. The results are as follows: It can be seen that the immaterial features exhibited in the digital architectural space and the traditional architectural one are not just interconnected with specific features, but they are correlated to all immaterial features. Thus, immateriality that are common in the traditional and digital architectural spaces is complementary organic, which is contained in the ambiguity of boundary between other spaces. It is regarded to the architecture as a living things in space diversity based on ideological similarities.

  • In this study, hyperspace is a result of imagination created by means of facts and fiction, represents a transfer to determination and indetermination, and means an extension to an open form. In other words, hyperspace is a high dimensional space expanded to imagination through the combination of the viewpoint on facts in this dimension and fiction. When the 2D plane surface or 3D symmetry is destroyed, or when the frame is twisted or entangled, the non-Euclidean geometry is created eventually. And when the twisting leads to transmutation and the destruction of the form reaches the extreme; this in turn became the twisting like Mbius band. Likewise, the non-Euclidean geometry is co-related to the asymmetry of the Higgs mechanism. When the 'destruction of symmetry' is considered, symmetric theory and asymmetric world can be connected. The asymmetry in turn can maintain balance by arranging the uneven weights at different distances from the shaft. Moreover, at this the concept of the upper, lower, left and right, which was included in the original form, may be crumbled down. The destruction of the symmetry is essential in order to present forecast that coincides with the phenomenon of the real world. Non-Euclidean geometry characteristic is expressed by asymmetry, twists, and deconstruction and its representative characteristic is ambiguity. The boundary between the front, back, upper, lower, inner and outer is unclear, and it is difficult and vague to pinpoint specific location. The design that does not clearly define or determine the direction of wearing costume is indeed the non-oriented design that can be worn without getting restricted by specific direction such as front and back. Non-Euclidean geometry characteristic of hyperspace have been applied to create new shapes through the modification of the substance from traditional clothing of the eastern world to modern fashion. The way of thinking in the 'hyperspace' that used to be expressed in the costumes of the east and the west in the past became the forum for unlimited creation.

  • The empirical area-reduction method by W.M. Borland and C.R. Miller and its revised procedure by W.T. Moody were made of fitting the area and storage curves to the Van't Hul distributions. It should be noted that the reservoir is classified into one of the four standard types on the basis of the topographical feature of the reservoir in application of the method. In other words, this method did not take into account several considerafble factors affecting the mode of sediment deposition, but only the shape of the reservoir as a governign factor. This is why the method occasionally creates ambiguity in classification and accordingly leads to unexpected mode of deposition. This paper describes a generating an formula to decide the standard classification of four types Van's Hul distributions, taking into consideration quantitatively sediment-loss percent and capacity-inflow ratio as well as the shape of the reservoirs by multiple regression analysis using the least square method to get a better fit to the design curves. The result is expressed as $Y=-1.95+55.8X_1+0.14X_2+0.12X_3$ in which the the values of Y locate the standard type I through type IV in the range from ten to forty with the interval of ten. The regression analysis was correlated well with the standard errors of estimate of around two except for the case of the type IV. This formula does not give big difference from the Borland's work in general sityation, but it demonstrates acceptable results, giving somewhat precise replys for the specific reservoirs. Its application to the Soyang Lake, one of the largest reservoirs in the country, defined clearly the type II, while the original method located it in the boundary of the type II and type III.

  • Surface sedimentary facies and the change of microphytobenthos distribution in Geunso Bay tidal flat were monitored using remotely sensed data. Sediment distribution was analyzed along with the spectral reflectance based on the in situ data, and the spectral characteristics of the area where microphytobenthos occupied was examined. A medium to low spatial resolution of satellite image was not suitable for the detection of the surface sediments changes in the study area due to its ambiguity in the sedimentary facies boundary, but the seasonal changes of microphytobenthos distribution could be obviously detected. However, area of predominance of sand grains and seagrass distribution could be distinctly identified from a high spatial resolution remote sensing image. From this, it is expected that KOMPSAT-2 satellite images can be applied effectively to the study on the surface sedimentary facies and detailed ecological mapping in a tidal flat.

  • It is necessary to identify the use cases of the supplier systems in order to define new service using their functions. Current use case modeling techniques, however, do not represent the external use cases clearly, because the external system is represented only by an actor. This ambiguity of the modeling technique declines the comprehensiveness of the model, and does not limit the scope of the target system explicitly. In this paper, we propose the extended use case modeling technique for service-oriented computing. This modeling technique enables the definition of external use cases and components. They are used to limit the boundary of the target system, and the relationship between them are modeled by the realization of external use cases. The proposed technique uses UML stereotype extension mechanism. so the compatibility with current use case modeling technique is preserved.

  • We have investigated the EUV coronal jets observed by Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO) / Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA). From the Heliophysics Events Knowledgebase (HEK), we consider all recorded 40 EUV jets in $171{\AA}$ from May 2010 to July 2011 and use 19 jets whose location can be clearly identified, excluding limb events because of the ambiguity of their positions. According to the positions of their roots, these coronal jets are classified into two types: bright point jet (BPJ, 9 jets) and active region boundary jet (ABJ, 10 jets). BPJs are located at the top of bright points and ABJs at the boundaries of active regions. There are significant differences in speed and size between two types. Here the speed and size of a jet are assumed to be its maximum values in the case that the jet has several ejections. The average speed and size of 9 BPJs are about 110 km/s and 69,000km, respectively. The average speed and size of 10 ABJs are about 660 km/s and 194,000 km, respectively. The speed distribution of ABJs has two peaks at about 270 km/s and 1700 km/s. It is very interesting to note that three ABJs have very high speeds larger than 1600 km/s and they are all composed of a group of recurrent jets with low and high speed at the same location. In addition, we are investigating these events in other wavelengths and compare their characteristics.

  • Recently, it is considered that the fashion flagship stores are being standardized as they are focusing only on external decorations and that they are hardly expressing their own intrinsic identities. That being the case, the fashion flagship stores are, now, pursuing diversity and are trying for any experimental designs in order to make their spaces more unique than those of other fashion flagship stores are, and regarding customers who would visit the stores, they have this desire to experience spaces, which are all unusual and different, just quickly while they shop. The topic of this study, depaysement which is making it unfamiliar, applies some unfamiliar a stimulus to people, and that makes the users remember this realization of original images and psychological stimuli as long as possible as leading the users to experience those spaces of special values. In the light of that, this study categorizes the features of depaysement into those groups, such as distortion of scales, juxtaposition of foreign materials, fantasy and ambiguity of a boundary, and analyzes the interior spaces of the fashion flagship stores. After all, this study applies depaysement to the fashion flagship stores' interior spaces, which have been all familiarized and standardized through some habitual relations, and works on different stimuli in order to invite the users to experiences of those totally new senses which are different from what the users have been felt in their daily lives. In the end, the study aims to propose ideas for how to design a place attractive enough to make the users revisit the place as after going through such memory process mentioned on the above.

  • The SHAPE algorithm has the advantage of being able to shape the pulse spectrum as desired and design it not to distort other characteristics, so it was used in the active sonar pulse design. In this paper, we propose a pulse design using the SHAPE algorithm for a multi-static sonar system to reduce the cross-correlation between frequency-adjacent pulses and prevent the performance degradation of the pulses themselves. The boundary function of the SHAPE algorithm is set to be limited to the pulse bandwidth. As a result of applying the proposed design method to the sinusoidal frequency modulated pulse, the peak cross-correlation level (PCCL), which means the degree of cross-correlation, was reduced by 44.23 dB. Although the PCCL decreased by several tens of dB, no significant change in the ambiguity function was observed, and the integrated sidelobe level (ISL), which means the average value of the side lobe, increased by 11.64 dB.

A Reinvestigation on Key Issues Associated with the Yimjin(1712) Boundary Making and Demarcation: Location of 'Yipjiamlyu' and the Confluence of 'Tomungangweon' into the Sungari River (임진정계시 '입지암류(入地暗流)'의 위치와 '토문강원(土門江源)'의 송화강 유입 여부)

  • This research revealed that 'Yipjiamlyu' in the Mukedeng's map is geographically 'a beginning point of underf low,' whose location is on the Heishigou's riverbed(E.L. 1,840m) in the NNE side of Daegakbong peak, and that 'Tomungangweon'(Heishigou) is one of the upstream reach of the Sungari River, which, according to historical documents and my fieldwork, Mukedeng also knew at the time of Yimjin(1712) Boundary Making and Demarcation(YBMD). These findings suggest the need to reinterpret the processes of YBMD. Mukedeng set up the Baekdusanjeonggyeobi on the mistaken assumptions on the linkage of 'Yipjiamlyu' and Tumen River. It should have been set up on the Daeyeonjibong peak. Mukedeng found the 'Yipjiamlyu' on the riverbed of 'Tomungangweon'(Heishigou), went downstream, and realized that this river did not flow into the Tumen River. During the search for the source of Tumen River, he found a water stream, and regarded it as the source of Tumen River. He speculated that the water at the 'Yipjiamlyu' flows through the underground to reappear at the his 'identified' source of Tumen River. Consequently, he adjured the construction of demarcation from Baekdusanjeonggyeobi through 'Yipjiamlyu' to the his 'identified' source of Tumen River. The water stream pointed as the source of Tumen River, however, was not part of the upstream reach of Tumen River. Actually, Korean officials, who were in charge of establishing boundary features, set up the demarcation from Baekdusanjeonggyeobi through Huanghuasongdianzi to the true source of Tumen River identified by themselves, which Mukedeng had not intended. The ambiguity of the location of 'Yipjiamlyu' caused a difference between Mukedeng's original request and Korean officials' implementation in the boundary demarcation. Throughout the whole processes of YBMD, Korea(Joseon) and China(Qing) both mistook the real geography of the river system. Their understanding on Yalu River system was correct. But the identification of the spring source of the Tumen River by Korean participants was the only geographically correct result related on this river system in YBMD.
