An Evaluation Method of Taekwondo Poomsae Performance

  • In this study, we formulated a method that evaluates Taekwondo Poomsae performance using a series of choreographed training movements. Despite recent achievements in 3D human pose estimation (HPE) performance, the analysis of human actions remains challenging. In particular, Taekwondo Poomsae action analysis is challenging owing to the absence of time synchronization data and necessity to compare postures, rather than directly relying on joint locations owing to differences in human shapes. To address these challenges, we first decomposed human joint representation into joint rotation (posture) and limb length (body shape), then synchronized a comparison between test and reference pose sequences using DTW (dynamic time warping), and finally compared pose angles for each joint. Experimental results demonstrate that our method successfully synchronizes test action sequences with the reference sequence and reflects a considerable gap in performance between practitioners and professionals. Thus, our method can detect incorrect poses and help practitioners improve accuracy, balance, and speed of movement.

임상간호사의 포커싱적 태도와 감정노동이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Focusing Manner and Emotional Labor on Nursing Performance of Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: Focusing manner is very powerful mind-body self-help and self-awareness competence. So focusing manner may affect nurses' emotional labor and nursing performance, but few are known about it to date. The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of focusing manner, emotional labor, nursing performance of clinical nurses, and the factors that affect nursing performance. Methods: In order to collect data, structured questionnaires were administered to 212 nurses who worked at 2 university hospitals located in D city. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 20.0. Results: Nursing performance had positive relationship with focusing manner (r=.45, p<.001), and negative relationship with emotional labor (r=-.25, p<.001). And the most prediction factor influencing nursing performance was focusing manner (${\beta}=.41$, p<.001) and the other factors were age (${\beta}=.30$, p=.002), and emotional labor (${\beta}=.14$, p=.012). The total variance was 37.1% by those predictors (F=25.87, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop and educational program on focusing manner-oriented psychotherapy in order to improve the nursing performance. Also, the management system for controlling emotional labor needs to be set up for nurses in clinical settings.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect nursing students' performance on standard precaution of infection control. Methods: For the analysis of the study results, mistakes and percentages, descriptive statistics, Pearson's coefficient, and multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: Among the participants, 76.5% received hospital infection education, and 72.5% experienced an exposure to blood or body fluid, and the most of the exposures were occurred during the first semester of the third year. The knowledge score was $20.08{\pm}2.09$, the awareness score was $4.63{\pm}.41$, and the performance score was $4.34{\pm}.55$. In the relationship between the standard precautions knowledge, awareness, and performance, the awareness and the performance were in positive correlations, while the factors that affected the performance level of the standard precautions were awareness and the school year (third year), which had 37.0% of the total exposures. Conclusion: In order to increase the performance level of the standard precautions among the nursing department students, after identifying the differences between school years and demands of the students, it is necessary to provide continuous and regular education of standard precautions.

밀집형 재생증발식 냉방기의 냉각 성능 분석 (Analysis of Cooling Performance of a Compact Regenerative Evaporative Cooler)

  • This study investigated a compact regenerative evaporative cooler (REC). To achieve practical applications of an REC, it is very important to consider the compactness as well as the cooling performance. Therefore, a prototype of the REC was designed and fabricated to improve the compactness by reducing the length through the insertion of fins in both the dry and wet channels. The REC prototype was tested in terms of performance evaluation under various operating conditions. An analytical model was also developed to analyze the effects of the axial conduction through the solid body of the REC, the wetness of the surface in the wet channel, and the thermal capacity of the evaporation water flow. The model was validated by comparing the results of a simulation with experimental data. The numerical simulation was based on the model to analyze the performance of the REC and to suggest methods to improve the cooling performance of the REC. Finally, the performance of the present REC was compared to that obtained in previous experimental studies. The results showed that the REC prototype in the present study is the most compact and achieves the highest cooling performance.

The Role of Training and Absorptive Capacity in Mediating Human Capital Dimensions and Organizational Performance: Evidence from Pakistan

  • This study aims to examine the role of training and absorptive capacity as a mediator to examine the impact of human capital dimensions on the performance of an organization. This study employs the quantitative approach for analysis. A sample of 208 respondents was collected from the textile factories based in Karachi and Faisalabad. Data was analyzed using the PLS-SEM technique. PLS-SEM algorithm was used to check the validity and reliability of the data. PLS-SEM bootstrapping was used for studying the impact. The results show that the skills have an insignificant impact on organizational performance. Education and skills have an insignificant indirect impact on the performance of an organization. The research findings show that the human capital dimensions are full and partially mediated via absorptive capacity and training. The findings revealed that if we implement one by one dimension of human capital then it will not cause any increase in the organization's performance but if we implement all dimensions then it results in optimal performance. Thus, this study suggests adopting effective training techniques and creating absorptive capacity in an organization to increase the performance of an organization. The findings of this study significantly contribute to the existing body of knowledge.

10주간 유산소와 저항성 운동의 다른 수행 순서에 따른 20대 남성의 신체조성, 신체기능과 호르몬에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Different Performance Sequences of Aerobic and Resistance Exercises for 10 Weeks on Body Composition, Physical Function and Hormones in Males aged 20s)

  • 본 연구는 20대 남성을 대상으로 10주간 저항운동과 유산소 운동을 순서가 다르게 실시한 후 신체조성, 운동수행능력 및 호르몬의 변화에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지에 관한 연구이다. 실험 참가자들 (N=30)은 무선할당 방식으로 유산소 운동 후 저항 운동그룹 (n=10, A+R), 저항운동 후 유산소 운동그룹(n=10, R+A)과 통제그룹 (n=10, CON)으로 나누었다. 10주간 유산운동(최대심박수 50-80%, 30분)과 저항운동(50-80% 1RM, 30분)으로 순서를 달리하여 주3회 한 회당 총 70-80분으로 운동을 수행하였다. 훈련 기간 전과 10주후에 신체조성, 운동수행능력, 호르몬이 측정되었다. 연구 결과는 신체조성에서 A+R의 골격근량(p=.015)은 증가하였고 체지방량(p=.042), 체지방률(p=.007)은 감소하였다. R+A의 골격근량(p=.001)은 증가하였고, 체지방량(p=.003)은 감소하였다. CON은 체중(p=.03)과 체지방량(p=.039)이 증가하였다. 운동수행능력에서 A+R에 유산소능력(p=.011)과 저항성능력(p=.001)이 증가하였고, R+A는 저항성능력(p=.0016)이 증가하였다. 호르몬에서 A+R에 에피네프린(p=.048), 노르에피네프린(p=.013), 코티졸(p=.045)이 증가하였고, R+A는 에피네프린(p=.046)이 증가하였다. CON에서는 인슐린(p=.007)이 증가하였다. 이러한 결과로 보면 두 운동 그룹(A+R & R+A)이 통제그룹(CON)에 비하여 우수하고, 그리고 두 운동 그룹 중에서는 A+R이 R+A보다 좀 더 효과적임을 나타내었다.

Developmental and Neurobehavioral Effects of Mycotoxin Fumonisin B1 in Rats

  • The objective of this experiment is to investigate neurobehavioral and developmental effects of fumonisin B1 (FB1) after prenatal FB1 administration in rats. FB1 (0.8 or 1.6 mg/kg) was orally exposed to pregnant rats during gestational days 13 to 20, whereas the vehicle alone was administered to control group. Maternal and offspring body weights, physical landmarks of incisor eruption, eye opening, testes descending and vaginal opening, open field activity, running wheel activity, and complex maze performance were included as endpoints for developmental and neurobehavioral measurement. Maternal body weights were not signfficantly altered after FB1 exposure. Percentage of maternal weight gain difference between control and 1.6 mg/kg FBI groups was about 4%. Pre- and post-weanling weight of offsprings after prenatal exposure to FB1 was not signfficantly changed, suggesting that FB1 at 0.8 or 1.6 kg/kg doses may not cross the placenta. Significant gender difference in running wheel activity on postnatal days 57 to 63 and complex maze performance on postnatal days 75 to 78 was observed.

  • In this paper, with the background features on which measuring the transverse left-right and up -down vibration of wheel, bogie and body by wireless measurement system, performance evaluation systems which can assess the running behavior of high speed trains based on UIC code 518-OR and evaluate the ride comfort of them based on ISO code 2631 and UIC code 513 were developed. The characteristics of dynamic vibration are generally analyzed by an acceleration of a car body of high speed train and the acceleration can be applied to evaluation of running safety. In this paper, also matching system of distance from tachometer and vibration from accelerometer was programmed in development software, and the SD card embedded system which prevent to loss of data in wireless measurement was mounted on this system. Finally the software perform to analysis with filtering and statistical post-process in the unit sections and zones and focus on developing the capability monitoring in the main control center. For the verification of this system, the running behavior and safety factor were analyzed based on field measured data of the Cheonjun-gunnum-sun turn out point in the new KTX railway.

EFFECT OF DIETARY PROTEIN AND ENERGY LEVELS ON THE PERFORMANCES OF STARCROSS LAYERS

  • Two similar experiments were designed to evaluate the interaction of dietary CP and ME levels on the production performance parameters at the age between 155 and 300 days in Starcross layers. In both experiments, the feed intake and mortality decreased but the egg weight, body weight gain and feed conversion efficiency increased as the dietary CP and ME levels increased. The CP intake was highest CP and lowest ME levels. With the increasing CP and decreasing ME levels, the ME intake decreased significantly (Experiments 1 & 2). The $CP{\times}ME$ interactions were significant only on mean egg weight and egg production in Experiment 2. In both the experiments, the CP levels were positively correlated with CP intake, egg weight, body weight gain and egg production and negative correlation with feed intake, mortality percentage and ME intake. The ME levels showed negative correlation with feed intake, protein intake, mortality percentages and positive correlation with all other parameters in both experiments. The highest values were noted for all the parameters (except mortality percentages) in Experiment 1 than that recorded in Experiment 2.

  • One of the major factors that effect sensor performance is analog noise that added in a sensor signal such as voltage. In multi-axis force sensors, error sources may be classified mainly in two groups. One is structural error due to inaccuracy of sensor body. The other error source is noise signals existing in the sensed information. This paper presents a brief review about the principle of multi-axis force sensors, and then proposes a method that can reduce the effect of noise signal to sensor performance. The method is to convert analog voltage signal to digital numbers near sensor body and then to read these digital signals and conduct signal processing in the computer. By this way, we can eliminate a bad effect of electromagnetic wave emitted from computer and of 60 Hz noise emitted from AC source. The proposed method is investigated through experimental demonstration. The experimental results show that it improves S/N ratio of the sensor about 40 times in our experimental setup.
