  • An early warning system was developed to help identify stock status as early as possible. For performance to improve, there needs to be a feature to predict the amount of stock that must be provided and a feature to estimate when to buy goods. This research was conducted to improve the inventory early warning system and optimize the Reminder Block's performance in minimum stock settings. The models used in this study are the single exponential smoothing (SES) method for prediction and the economic order quantity (EOQ) model for determining the quantity. The research was conducted by analyzing the Reminder Block in the early warning system, identifying data needs, and implementing the SES and EOQ mathematical models into the Reminder Block. This research proposes a new Reminder Block that has been added to the SES and EOQ models. It is hoped that this study will help in obtaining accurate information about the time and quantity of repurchases for efficient inventory management.

  • The conventional block systems for railway signaling currently in operation in Korea have not been electrified or integrated and therefore there have been difficulties in terms of construction and maintenance. Two independent systems have been installed for ABS and LEU of ATP system (for speeded-up lines), although they deal with the same signaling information at the same location in order to control the trains. In these conventional ABS and LEU, a number of duplicate modules are installed in each device including lamp detection units and power supply units and it results increased manufacturing costs and maintenance efforts. This paper deals with the prototype development of integrated electronic block system with CPU-based digital control methods in order to overcome the limitations of the conventional ABS. The suggested system is the integration of the conventional ABS with LEU of ATP and it is also applicable for the non-ATP sections as well.

  • This paper introduces DS/Block-Structure - a structural analysis module of DS/Block, which is a Design System to simulate the behavior of a ship block in various crane operations and to evaluate its structural deformation using the finite element method. It runs based on a CAD program, Pro/ENGINEER, and structural analyses are performed by a developed FE code. Boundary conditions for the FE analysis of a ship block under lifting and turnover operation are also considered.

  • This paper deals with rocking response behavior of rigid block structure subjected to horizontal excitation. A strict consideration of impact and sliding between the block and base is essential to investigate the rocking vibration characteristics because the rocking behavior were greatly influenced by the impact and sliding motion. Therefore, not only restitution coefficient between the block and base but also the energy dissipation rate which is associated with sliding motion, and the static and kinetic friction coefficient between those should be included in the modeling of rocking system. The analytic program was developed to be able to simulate the experimental responses of the block subjected to horizontal sinusoidal excitations. By using this program, rocking responses were numerically calculated by the nonlinear equations for rocking system. From the response simulation and rocking vibration experiment, the following results were obtained. The rocking responses are affected by the impact motion due to energy dissipation and friction and provide very complex behavior. The toppling condition of the block is also influenced by the impact motion and sliding motion.

  • This paper is focused on an optimal block sectioning technique which are widely used in conventional railway system. We studied braking distance with pure train braking performance to generalize train braking. We tried to apply the braking distance to wayside signaling system to decide optimal block sectioning to reduce headway. The braking distances are obtained for 2 aspects, 3 aspects, 4 aspects and n aspects such that step speed control, are longer than the pure braking distance. We found an optimal solution with the generalized n aspects, and a minimum block distance for ATO mode.

  • In these days, Block Pulse functions are used in a variety of fields such as the analysis and controller design of the systems. In applying the Block Pulse function technique to control and systems science, the integral operation of the Block Pulse series plays important roles. This is because differential equations are always involved in the representations of continuous-time models of dynamic systems, and differential operations are always approximated by the corresponding Block Pulse series through integration operational matrices. In order to apply the Block Pulse function technique to the problems of continuous-time dynamic systems more efficiently, it is necessary to find th...

  • The block error probabilities of noncoherent frequency shift keying in a Nakagami fading channel are presented in this papaer. The channel fading speed, show or fast. is consider in evaluating block error probabilities. The effectiveness of diversity combing and error correction coding in improving block error performance is examined. The effect of cochannel interference on block error performance is also studied in this paper.

  • These days, geographic information system has released in everyday life and industries. However, the shipyard only uses it to manage the layout of the yard. In this study, we apply the Geographic Information System to shipbuilding block logistics simulation to analyse the behavior of bogies and forklifts carrying blocks and materials in the shipyard. The shipyard manages daily block logistics plans at the execution planning stage. However, since it is a daily plan, it is difficult to respond to an unexpected situation immediately, and application to judge a certain value or higher value is insufficient. Therefore, a simulation model was created using the shape and attribute information inherent in the geographic information system to verify and improve the block logistics of the mid-and long-term yards. Through this simulation model, we will analyse loads on the workplace, stockyard, and road, and contribute to overall logistics improvement from the point of view of resource planning. In addition, the results of the simulation are reflected in the planning, to help support various decisions.

  • Unknown inputs observer(UIO) which is achieved by the coordinate transformation method has the differential of system outputs in the observer and the equation for unknown inputs estimation. Generally, the differential of system outputs in the observer can be eliminated by defining a new variable. But it brings about the partition of the observer into two subsystems and need of an additional differential of system outputs still remained to estimate the unknown inputs. Therefore, the block pulse function expansions and its differential operation which is a newly derived in this paper are presented to alleviate such problems from an algebraic form.

  • This document outlines a new color image encryption technology development. After splitting the original image into 240-bit blocks and modifying the first block by an initialization vector, an improved Feistel circuit is applied, sponsored by a genetic crossover operator and then strong chaining between the encrypted block and the next clear block is attached to set up the confusion-diffusion and heighten the avalanche effect, which protects the system from any known attack. Simulations carried out on a large database of color images of different sizes and formats prove the robustness of such a system.
