  • In this paper, a method for transmitting layered SVC streams in differentiated MBSFN channels is presented. Scalable coded video streams are transmitted in modulation channels of different efficiency that it achieves reduced resource consumption compared to non-scalable AVC stream. When utilizing with Raptor FEC, the combined effect is enhanced service coverage with providing minimum video quality at the edge of the service area, than the case of AVC.

  • This paper describes how to ensure safety of train by guaranteeing stable and continuous communication in RF-CBTC. CBTC System uses the wireless communication between onboard and wayside so that safety of wireless communication is the most important. Losing the position of train causes vital problem of train service. By losing the position of train, the other trains are blocked in the block and the train move by emergency mode so headway and safety cannot guaranteed. Therefore, safety is ensured by redundancy of wireless equipment. One of the ways to make redundancy is redundancy of equipment. However, the redundancy of equipment spends a lot of money to avoid interference in limited place like underground. Continuous communication is guaranteed by means of redundancy of wireless communication coverage to solve the problems even though one of the equipment is broken.

  • In modern science and technology, the organization of building blocks, such as spherical particles and zeolite, is important to form a nanostructure. So, it is essential to develop methods for organizing them into large scale for many precise applications. Up to now, reflux and stirring is widely used method for organization of colloidal particles. However, because this method is hard to organize building block with high coverage and uniform orientation, it is necessary to research another method. In this work, we synthesized spherical silica particles using St$\"{o}$ber method and organized them on the glass which is coated with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane (CP-TMS) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) using Sonication method. Although spherical silica particles are difficult to attach on the glass due to their small attachment site, we improved this problem by coating PEI. We introduced two mode of reaction promotion, sonication (SO) and sonication with stacking between the bare glass (SS), and investigated degree of coverage (DOC) and degree of close packing (DCP).

  • This paper presents the design of self-checking comparator using the time diversity and the application to 8 bit CPU for the implementation of fault tolerant computer system. this self-checking comparator was designed with the different time Points in which temporary faults were raised by electrical noise between duplicated functional blocks. also this self-checking comparator was simulated in the method of the fault injection using 4 bit shift register counter. we designed the duplicated Emotional block and the self-checking comparator in the single chip using the Altera EPLD and could verify the reliability and the fault detection coverage through the modeling of temporary faults ,especially intermittent faults. at the results of this research, the reliability and the fault detection coverage were implemented through the self-checking comparator using the time diversity.

  • Concolic testing generates test data by combining concrete program execution and symbolic execution to achieve high test coverage. CREST is a representative open-source test tool implementing concolic testing. Currently, however, CREST aims at exploring all possible execution paths. In case of testing a specific branch or block, thus, it can be ineffective. This paper suggests a goal-oriented concolic testing that generates test data to execute a given branch or block.

  • In cooperative communication systems, the source terminal transmits signal to the destination terminal with the aid of partner terminals. Therefore, the source terminal obtains extra spatial diversity gain. As a result, its performance is enhanced in term of higher achievable transmission rate, the larger coverage range, and the lower bit-error-rate (BER). Space-time codes (STCs) have been applied to cooperative communication systems in distributed fashion, in which the signal is spatially time exploited to obtain gains analogous to those provided by STCs. In this work, we consider the application of orthogonal Space-time Block Codes (OSTBCs) to the cooperative communication systems to further achieve higher diversity gain. The advances of the proposed approach are verified via computer simulations.

  • Apartment housing block has been spreaded according to rapid economic development and urbanization in Korea. A parking lot is located at underground, artificial ground is inevitably created in apartment housing block. Artificial ground creates different thermal environment compared to natural ground, because the composition and coverage of artificial ground are diverse. In this study, the effect of the artificial ground on building thermal environment will be disscussed by simulation. Considering the result of simulation, surface albedo is more important for building energy performance. A purpose of this study is to examine how the characteristic of surface effect to thermal environment, and to develop design method for sustainable outdoor space.

  • The heterogeneous LTE (Long Term Evolution)-Advanced networks comprising a macrocell and femtocells can provide an efficient solution not only to extend macrocell coverage but also to deal with packet traffics increasing explosively within macrocells. An efficient resource management scheme is necessary to maintain the QoS (Quality of Service) of mobile multimedia services because the LTE-Advanced system should support not only voice but also mobile applications such as data, image and video. This paper proposes a resource management scheme to guarantee QoS continuity of multimedia services and to maximize the resource utilization in OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) based LTE-Advanced systems. This scheme divides the resources into several service blocks and allocates those resources based on the competition between macrocell and femtocell. Simulation results show that it provides better performances than the conventional one in respect of handover failure rate and blocking rate.

  • In this paper, we discuss a proposed two hop relay network with PB/MC-CDMA(partial block MC-CDMA) technique. The main advantages of PB/MC-CDMA system are the increased cell capacity and the high quality of performances. In the system, we employ relay scheme to focus on the coverage reduction and hotspot problem, hotspot is a location where a cluster of users are blocked or dropped for the reason of insufficient frequency resources. Frequency resource allocation scheme is put forward in a three cells system according to each problem. The simulation result shows the performance of the two hop transmission is better than the direct transmission and the proposed network can support much more users to relief hotspot effect compared to the conventional one.

  • This paper investigates the power allocation and outage performance of MIMO full-duplex relaying (MFDR), based on orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBC), in cognitive radio systems. OSTBC transmission is used as a simple means to achieve multi-antenna diversity gain. Cognitive MFDR systems not only have the advantage of increasing spectral efficiency through spectrum sharing, but they can also extend coverage through the use of relays. In cognitive MFDR systems, the primary user experiences interference from the secondary source and relay simultaneously, owing to full duplexing. It is therefore necessary to optimize the transmission powers at the secondary source and relay. In this paper, we propose an optimal power allocation (OPA) scheme based on minimizing the outage probability in cognitive MFDR systems. We also analyse the outage probability of the secondary user in noise-limited and interference-limited environments in Nakagami-m fading channels. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes achieve performance improvements in terms of reducing outage probability.
