This paper proposes a new approximate approach to calculate the order fill rate and the probability of filling an entire customer order immediately from the shelf in a business environment under purchase dependence characterized by customer purchase patterns observed in such areas as marketing, manufacturing systems, and distribution systems. The new approximate approach divides customer orders into item orders and calculates fill rates of all order types to approximate the order fill rate. We develop a greed iterative search algorithm (GISA) based on the Gauss-Seidel method to avoid dimensionality and prevent the solution divergence for larger instances. Through the computational analysis that compares the GISA with the simulation, we demonstrate that the GISA is a dependable algorithm for deriving the stationary joint distribution of on-hand inventories in the type-K pure system. We also present some managerial insights.

The population of aged people in industries has been increased remarkably due to the decline of birth rates and the increase of average life span. Also, the current automation trends makes aged people to work easy in industries since automation technologies help them to avoid physically hard tasks. Therefore the evaluation of aged workers' adaptability would be an important research topic. In the study, the mean and standard deviation of the reaction time are calculated to see the differences with four lamps's types and ages. It is found that the mean reaction time and the standard deviation are increased with the the increase of age. The quantitative approach provides an important information to be used not only for the adaptability estimation of aged workers but also for the working capability qualification for re-employment.

We determined whether the ultrarapid freezing method is applicable to micromanipulated mouse embryos. One-cell mouse embryos were microinjected with MThGH gene. Nuclei from one-cell embryos of F1(C57BL$\times$CBA) mice were transplanted into enucleated one-cell embryos of ICR mice. The injected and nucleated embryos that developed to 2-cell stage were cryopreserved by ultrarapidfreezing. The embryos equilibrated in freezing medium(3 M DMSO＋0.25 M sucrose＋2% FBS in PBS) were directly immersed into liquid nitrogen and then thawed in 37$^{\circ}C$ water. Development rates of the microinjected and nuclear-transplanted embryos to blastocyst stage after ultrarapidly freezing and thawing were 31% and 55%, respectively. The frozen-thawed embryos were transferred to pseudopregnant recipient, which then gave birth to 17 offsprings. Twelve(14% of the transferred embryos) and five(20%) offsprings were derived from microinjected and nuclear-transplanted embryos, respectively. The results indicate that the DNA injected and nuclear-transplanted mouse embryos are cryopreservable at 2-cell stage by ultrarapid freezing method.

This study was conducted to investigate optimal time of artificial insemination (AI) to Hanwoo female after natural estrus. AI was occurred 12 and 24 hours after natural estrus in both heifer and multiparous recipient then pregnancy and parturition rates were estimated. Results indicated that AI performed at 24 hours after natural estrus showed significant (p<0.05) higher pregnancy rate in both heifer and multiparous recipient groups with significantly (p<0.05) higher abortion rate. However, there are no significant differences of parturition rate, twin birth and sex ratio in both heifer and multiparous recipient groups. Therefore, our results may suggest that performance of AI at 24 hours after natural estrus promise higher pregnancy rate than AI at 12 hours after natural estrus in both heifer and multiparous recipient.

After it first opened in 2001, Incheon International Airport (IIA) has grown into a world-class airport, leaving remarkable traces, such as being the first airport to win the ASQ Airport Serivce Price for 10 consecutive years. However, ever since its birth IIA has tried to position itself as the leading hub airport of Northeast Asia. Until this day, it has not been meeting this goal, with transfer passenger numbers and transfer rates decreasing recently. This study looks at the outer environment to discover which factors affect IIA's transfer market. Through extensive research on external analysis, the study will eventually provide a counter strategy guideline for fighting back against decreasing transfer usage.

Objectives: This study aims to report the clinical effect of Korean medicine on infertile married couple. Methods: Four infertile married couples received Korean medicine therapies such as herbal medication, acupuncture and moxibustion. Results: After treatment, four couples were successful in spontaneous pregnancy. All patients gave birth to healthy babies. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine is effective in infertile married couple and shows possibility to increasing pregnancy rates.

Stars lose their masses constantly after their birth, but the stellar mass loss is especially prominent in the last stages of their lives. It has been believed that red superginats are losing their masses at rates of 10-8∼10-4M/yr. They are known to be asymptotic giant branch stars that are at the end stages of the evolution for the stars with zero age main sequence masses of 1∼10M. Red supergiants are often characterized by the thick dust envelopes and large amplitude pulsations. According to their energy spectra, chemical composition, they are divided into three main group; M-type Miras, C-type carbon stars, and OH/IR stars. The purpose of this work is to clarify the evolutionary aspects in the physical parameters of the red supergiants mainly from the direct interpretation of their infrared spectra.

As a result of the rapid economic growth and birth control policy, China is experiencing low fertility rates and increasing life expectancy, which makes Chinese population aging very quickly and unprepared for their retired life. The reverse mortgage may be an attractive option for the elderly because it is a loan against a house that they do not have to pay back as long as they live there. In this paper, in order to introduce the reverse mortgage scheme in China the factors that could influence the demand of reverse mortgage are reviewed and the Chinese market environment is analyzed. Then the principal component analysis is performed in order to recommend the regions or cities that have higher potential for successful implementation of a reverse mortgage than any other ones in China.

This investigation deals with reliability and sensitivity analysis of a repairable embedded system with standby wherein repairman takes multiple vacations. The hardware system consists of 'M' operating and 'S' standby components. The repairman can leave for multiple vacations of random length during its idle time. Whenever any operating unit fails, it is immediately replaced by a standby unit if available. Moreover, governing equations of an embedded system are constructed using appropriate birth-death rates. The vacation and repair time of repairman are exponentially distributed. The matrix method is used to find the steady-state probabilities of the number of failed components in the embedded system as well as other performance measures. Reliability indexes are presented. Further, numerical experiments are carried out for various system characteristics to examine the effects of different parameter. Using a special class of neuro-fuzzy systems i.e. Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Interference Systems (ANFIS), we also approximate various performance measures. Finally, the conclusions and future research directions are provided.

The purpose of this study was to select market variables that a foodservice company should consider when expanding overseas and to regional market analysis by variables. Twenty-three different variables were derived from 17 previous studies. These were: population, urbanization rate, women employed, enrollment in tertiary education, gross domestic product, value added by service, total number of mobile cellular telephone subscribers, number of internet users, total Asian highway, inward foreign direct investment, total service imports, inflation rate, international tourist arrivals, energy use by industry, growth rates of the food consumer price index, access to urban sanitation, per capita total expenditure on health, male life expectancy at birth, adult literacy rate, contributing women family workers, passenger car, and country risk assessment. The selected variables were collected as secondary data from the UN, Asian Development Bank, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Michigan State University.
