The purpose of this survey is to investigate the nutritional status and dietary intake of gastrectomized cancer patients in Asan Medical Center. The subjects were 98 patients, who underwent a gastrectomy due to gastric cancer and were admitted to the General Surgery Department during March 2007 to December 2007. We examined general characteristics (sex, age, clinicopathological stage, type of operation), anthropometric data (height, weight change), biochemical data (red blood cell RBC, hemoglobin HGB, hematocrit HCT, mean corpuscular volume MCV, total lymphocyte count TLC, albumin, total cholesterol), dietary intake and dietary intake related symptoms. Weight loss of gastrectomized patients was $9.0{\pm}4.3$% from preillness weight to visiting out-patient department (OPD) weight. Biochemical data (RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, TLC, albumin, total cholesterol) significantly deteriorated after gastrectomy. However, outpatient visits were all restored to the normal range. Postoperative energy intake was $785.0{\pm}164.2$ kcal, which corresponds to $41.6{\pm}9.6$% of daily energy requirement. The cause of poor oral intake is mostly fear, abdominal pain and abdominal discomfort. Therefore, to control pre-or post-operative weight change in the future requires, focusing on the body weight to maintain a normal or usual nutrition by interventions and increased caloric intake during hospitalization for the development of nutrient-dense meals. In addition, as the main reason of the lack of intake of meals after the gastrectomy was fear, the patients should be actively encouraged to consider the importance of eating proper meals.
We propose a new optimization framework for the reactive scheduling. The proposed rescheduling scheme is specially focused on how to generate rescheduling results when equipment failure occurs. The approach is based on a continuous-time problem representation that takes into account the schedule in progress, the updated information on the batches still to be processed, the present plant state, the deviations in plant parameters and the time data. To update the predictive scheduling, we used right shift rescheduling and total regeneration when equipment failure occurs. And, a practical solution to the rescheduling problem requires satisfaction of two often confliction measures: the efficiency measure that evaluates the satisfaction of a desired objective function value and the stability measure that evaluates the amount of change between the schedules before and after the disruption. In this paper, the efficiency is measured by the makespan of all jobs in the system. And, the stability is measured by the percentage change in makespan and the modified sequence deviation in the predictive scheduling and rescheduling.
In this study, we evaluated the property change and relationship between hematological and biochemical parameters in exposure group and control group by multiple inhalation exposure, of $NO_2$. In case of leukocyte, change of hematological property increased significantly in statistics (p<0.05) in mice experiment. in case of hematocrit of exposure group, it was of decreased significantly in statistics. the tendency of hemoglobin and hematocrit was similar to all for three case. in case of methmoglobin that of the exposure group in mice experiment was meaning increased(p<0.05). For the $NO_2$ influence in biochemical property, total protein and triglyceride was decreased but not significant in statistics, albumin was decreased in the exposure group in the animal experiments, blood urea nitrogen and creatinine increased significantly in statistics in the animal experiments. uric acid and lactate dehydrogenase in serum increased significantly in the exposure group. We have to evaluate risk assessment for the $NO_2$ of indoor air pollutant in low concentration and long time.

When a domestically manufactured floater is used in a general gasoline or LPG car, or a flowmeter is floated long time in the engine oil under above $150^{\circ}C$, the floater will be swelled or its organization will be slackened because weight and volume will be changed due to the osmosis of fuel. In this study, we conducted a research on a manufacturing technique of a foam-floater with the small changse in weight and volume, oil-resistance, and thermal resistance in the high temperature engine oil. When the prepared floater TROF II-3, where Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) as basic material of the floater was superseded by Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR), was floated for 100 h at the engine oil of high temperature ($150^{\circ}C$), the change rates of the weight and the volume were 2.90%, and 2.56%, respectively. These were less than the NBR (TROF I-3) case, where the change rates of the weight and the volume were 10.81% and 3.08%, respectively, Therefore, TROF II-3 was determined to be suitable as an engine-oil floater in high temperature because the change of weight and volume were small, the appearance, and the specific gravity of floater were maintained uniformly in the high temperature.

Histological examination of biopsy or postmortem lung tissue from patients with asthma usually reveals thickened airway walls. This change is called airway remodeling, which is characterized by airway eosinophilia, hyperplasia of goblet cells and smooth muscle, and subepithelial fibrosis [1,2]. In this study, we investigated the time-course functional, morphological, biochemical changes of remodeling in a ovalbumin (OVA)-induced murine chronic asthma model. (omitted)

To evaluate the bone mineral density (BMD) and biochemical markers. We evaluated the BMD of femoral neck and lumbar spines of 998(male 568, female 430) persons who took a regular health screening in Woosuk University Hospital from September 2007 to March 2008 by dual energy bone mineral densitometry. Results of BMD are different in terms of biochemical markers. Especially aged people showed osteoporotic change progressively. Degree of osteoporosis increases with age. A steep decrease of BMD can be found in postmenopausal women who have low level of female hormone. More persistent effort is needed to find out the factors that can reduce BMD values for prevention of problems by osteoporosis. In essence, research on factors related to other biochemical markers must be studied continuously.

To investigate the effect of Pinus densiflora on biochemical parameters in type I diabetic rats, we evaluated the changes of body weight, fasting blood glucose level, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and biochemical parameters after the intraperitoneal injection of distilled solution of Pinus densiflora in streptozotocin (STZ)induced rats. Thirty-seven male Sprague Dawley rats $(180\pm10g)$ were divided into four groups; diabetic mellitus (DM) group received STZ (50 mg/kg BW, i.v.); low level of pine extract (LP) group received Pinus densiflora (5 mg/kg BW, i.p.), high level of pine extract (HP) group received Pinus densiflora (10 mg/kg BW, i.p.) after the single injection of STZ (50 mg/kg BW, i.v.), respectively. Normal control (NC) group received saline. The change of fasting blood glucose level and OGTT were measured using glucocard II, and the change of biochemical parameter were measured by Automatic Chemistry Analyzer (Hitach-747, Japan). Mean body weight change of DM group was retarded greatly by STZ-exposure. While, body weights of LP and HP groups were progressively increased with some fluctuation, although the increase rates were slower than that of NC group. Fasting blood glucose levels of LP and HP groups were reduced by Pinus densiflora injection, although the fasting blood glucose levels were higher than that of NC group. The results of OGTT was significantly improved in both of LP and HP group compared to DM group. Increases of blood glucose, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels by STZ-exposure were attenuated by the Pinus densiflora treatment (p<0.05). From the results, it was suggested that Pinus densiflora has a tendency to decrease STZ-induced toxicity in terms of monitoring fasting blood glucose, OGTT and some biochemical parameters of rat.
In this work, the effect of low-temperature dehydration of a poly(styrene-co-styrenesulfonic acid) (PSSA) membrane was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electron magnetic resonancespectroscopy (EMR), and $^1H$- and $^{13}C$ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. These analyses were performed at room temperature for powdered PSSA specimens with and without dehydration and the following key observations were made. First, FT-IR analysis showed that low-temperature dehydration not only transformed the [${SO_3}^-{\cdots}H^+$] ionic pair in the non-hydrated PSSA to an $SO_3H$ group, but also induced the formation of -C=C- double bonds in the dehydrated PSSA. Second, the ${-SO_3}^{\bullet}$ radical was unambiguously identified by EMR spectroscopy. Third, H-abstraction was detected by $^1H$ magic-angle spinning spectroscopy. Finally, an unexpected color shift from white for the non-hydrated PSSA to a yellowish brown for the dehydrated sample was observed. In order to explain these experimental results, it was proposed that the formation of the intermediate hydrogen ($H^{\bullet}$) or hydroxyl radical ($HO^{\bullet}$) species was initiated by the dehydration process. The sespecies attacked the $SO_3H$ group and the tertiary proton at the ${\alpha}-carbon$, resulting in the formation of $-SO^{\bullet}$ radicals and -C=C- double bonds, which correlated with the color shift in the dehydrated PSSA sample. The semechanisms are useful for understanding the simultaneous loss of an aromatic ring and -SO- groups in the PSSA fuel cell membrane.
The need for natural cosmetic ingredients has been increasing over the world nowadays. Agarose, a natural polymer from red seaweeds, has high hydrophilic character and a function of scaffolder. As skin moisturizer, agarose is adequate for percutaneous absorption. While, blueberry fruits extract possesses rich procyanidins and anthocyanins which show health benefits, anti-oxidant effect, anti-aging and anti-melanogenesis. Stability, sensory preference, skin trouble of the emulsion formula are important for cosmetic product development. In this study, we manufactured an emulsion formula for skin moisturizers using the two ingredients and tested emulsion stability and skin trouble. Total phenolic contents of the blueberry fruits extract were evaluated as well as tyrosinase inhibitory and collagenase inhibitory activities. $IC_{50}$ values of blueberry fruits extract for anti-tyrosinase and anti-collagenase activities were 168 and $112{\mu}g/mL$, respectively using gallic acid as a control ($64.8{\mu}g/mL$). The stability (pH and viscosity) of the formula containing 2% blueberry fruits extracts and 0.1% agarose was measured at five different temperatures (room temp., $25^{\circ}C$, $55^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$, $55^{\circ}C$) under the sun light at 2 day intervals for 12 days. There has been little pH change at the different temperatures. According to the sensory evaluation, there was no significant flavor, discoloration and physical changes of the formula at $25-65^{\circ}C$. These results suggest that emulsion formula containing blueberry extract and agarose could be used as a candidate for lotion and essence products.
