  • In this study, electroconductive textiles were developed by screen-printing technology using a complex solution of PEDOT:PSS/AgNW on a polylactic acid nanofiber web. A performance evaluation was then conducted to utilize this electroconductive textile as a signal transmission line. To obtain highly conductive electroconductive textiles, this study sought to determine the optimal mixing ratio of PEDOT:PSS/AgNW. Sheet resistance was measured to evaluate the electrical properties of electroconductive textiles, Finite element-scanning electron microscopy images were then used to examine surface properties, and Fourier transform-infrared analysis was performed to evaluate chemical properties. The signal waveform characteristics of the electroconductive textile were observed using a signal generator and an oscilloscope. Radio-frequency characteristics were then evaluated to confirm frequency range, and bending tests were conducted to evaluate durability. The signal transmission lines produced in this study had a sheet resistance value of 3.30 ?/sq, and signal transmission performance was evaluated to observe that the input value of the voltage was nearly identical to the output value. In addition, S21 analysis confirmed that it was available in the frequency domain up to 35 MHz. The performances of the transmission lines were maintained after 100, 200, 500, and 1,000 repeated bending tests, and sufficient durability was confirmed.

  • Steel Fiber Reinforced Wet-type Shotcrete improves the quality and stabilizes the tunnel by increasing the shear strength of the natural ground by constructing the concrete which attaches the fresh concrete to the predetermined position from the nozzle. The Steel Fiber Reinforced Wet-type Shotcrete improves and reinforces the strength and dynamic behavior characteristics of concrete to suppress the generation and growth of local cracks by increasing the tensile resistance ability. In addition, Steel Fiber Reinforced Wet-type Shotcrete is a shotcrete that improves tensile strength, bending strength, and crack resistance by dispersing discontinuous short steel fibers evenly in concrete. In this study, compressive strength test and bending strength test of shotcrete of NATM tunnel were measured and rebound reduction rate was measured by varying shotcrete putting pressure to 900 RPM, 1,000 RPM, and 1,100 RPM. Therefore, the data that can be applied to domestic NATM tunnel construction are presented.

  • The ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) mixed with hybrid fibers has excellent mechanical properties and durability, and the hybrid fibers have a certain impact on the bearing capacity, deformation capacity, and crack propagation of beams. Many scholars have conducted a series of studies on the bending performance of prestressed UHPC beams, but there are few studies on prestressed UHPC beams mixed with hybrid fibers. In this study, five bonded post-tensioned partially prestressed UHPC beams mixed with steel fibers and macro-polyolefin fibers were poured and subjected to four-points symmetric loading bending tests. The effects of different prestressing degrees and prestressing levels on the load-deflection curves, crack propagation, failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity of beams were discussed. The results showed that flexural failure occurred in the prestressed UHPC beams with hybrid fibers, and the integrity of specimens was good. When the prestressing degree was the same, the higher the prestressing level, the better the crack resistance capacity of UHPC beams; When the prestressing level was 90%, increasing the prestressing degree was beneficial to improve the crack resistance and ultimate bearing capacity of UHPC beams. When the prestressing degree increased from 0.41 to 0.59, the cracking load and ultimate load increased by 66.0% and 41.4%, respectively, but the ductility decreased by 61.2%. Based on the plane section assumption and considering the bridging effect of short fibers, the cracking moment and ultimate bearing moment were calculated, with good agreement between the test and calculated values.

  • The effect of the silane coupling agent, bis(triethoxysilypropyl)tetrasulfide (TESPT), on mechanical properties of a silica-filled NBR compound for oilseal was investigated. Curing behavior and crosslinking density of the compounds were measured using ODR (oscillating disk rheometer) and swelling ratio in toluene. UTM (universal testing machine) and shore A hardness tester were used in order to study the characteristics of mechanical properties of original vulcanizates and aged ones with heated air and ASTM No. 3. oil. Recovery of elasticity which influences the performance and service life of oilseal was investigated by giving bending deformation to vulcanizates in aging condition. After bending aging test, recovery distance was measured and calculated angle of recovery from it. TR (temperature retraction) test was performed on these vulcanizates to determine the low temperature recovery behavior. Wear resistance was measured by Taber type abrasion tester. In addition, SEM was used to characterize the morphology of the worn surface of vulcanizates. The result showed that addition of TESPT into silica-filled compound improves not only compound flow-ability, interaction between NBR and silica and crosslinking density, but also hardness, 100% modulus, recovery of elasticity, wear resistance, heat resistance and ASTM No.3 oil resistance of vulcanizates.

  • Recently with the rapid development in marine and shipbuilding industries such as marine structures, ship, and chemical plants, there occurs much interest in the study of corrosion fatigue characteristics was closed up an important role in mechanical design. In this study, the 5086 Al-Alloy was tested by used of a rotary bending fatigue tester and was investigated under the environments of various specific resistance and air. The specific resistance, as a corrosion environment, was changed 15, 20, 25 and 5000$\Omega$.cm. The corrosion fatigue crack initiation sensitivity was quantitatively inspected for 5086 Al-Alloy in the various specific resistance. The experimental constants of Paris rule were examined in the various specific resistances, and the influences of load and corrosion with affect the crack growth rate were compared with. Main results obtained are as follows: (1) Number of stress cycles to corrosion fatigue crack initiation delaies and corrosion fatigue crack initiation sensitivity decreases with the increasing for the specific resistance. (2) The experimental constant m of Paris rule decreases with the decreasing for specific resistance. Hence the effect of corrosion is more susceptible than that of stress intensity factor. (3) The corrosion fatigue crack of 5086 Aluminium Alloy appears intergranular fracture. (4) Corrosion sensitivity is decreased with the increasing stress intensity factor and is nearly uniform when stress intensity factor is over 40kg.mm super(-3/2)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cyclic behavior of steel column-tree moment connections used in steel moment resisting frames. These connections are composed of shop-welded stub beam-to-column connection and field bolted beam-to-beam splice. In this study, the effects of beam splice length on the seismic performance of column-tree connections were experimentally investigated. The change of the beam splice location alters the bending moment and shear force at the splice, and this may affect the seismic performance of column-tree connections. Three full-scale test specimens of column-tree connections with the splice lengths of 900 mm, 1,100 mm, and 1,300 mm were fabricated and tested. The splice lengths were roughly 1/6, 1/7, 1/8 of the beam span length of 7,500 mm, respectively. The test results showed that all the specimens successfully developed ductile behavior without brittle fracture until 5% radians story drift angle. The maximum moment resisting capacity of the specimens showed little differences. The specimen with the splice length of 1,300 mm showed better bolt slip resistance than the other specimens due to the smallest bending moment at the beam splice.

  • The main aim of this study is to investigate the possible effects of metakaolin on strength and durability properties of concrete. For this purpose, concrete mixtures are produced by substituting cement with metakaolin 0, 5, 10 and 20% by weight. The amount of binder for the concrete mixtures are 300 and $400kg/m^3$ with a constant water to cement ratio of 0.6. Compressive and bending strengths, freeze-thaw and high-temperature resistances, capillary coefficients and rapid chloride permeability properties were determined and compared each other. Because of all the experiments conducted, it has been found that the use of metakaolin as a pozzolanic additive in concrete have positive effects especially on compressive and bending strengths, capillary, rapid chloride permeability, freeze-thaw resistance, and high temperatures, up to $800^{\circ}C$. The results indicated that the performance of concrete can be enhanced by metakaolin. Particularly, compressive strength and durability properties have found to be improved with increasing metakaolin content which is attributed to pozzolanic activity and filler effect. Furthermore, metakaolin has relatively positive impacts under elevated temperatures and freeze-thaw effects. However, almost all the strengths of entire concrete specimens are lost at $800^{\circ}C$. Consequently, the optimum metakaolin substitution ratio can be suggested to be 20% as per this study.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the degradation of piezoelectric properties with compressive cy-clic loading, the change in bending strength before and after poling treatment and fracture strength in MPB depending on the amount of MnO2 addition. The MPB with 0.25 wt.% MnO2 showed the best resistance against the piezoelectric degradation with compressive cyclic loading. Bending strength increased when pol-ing and loading directions are parallel, however decreased when poling and loading directions are per-pendicular each other. Because, during poling treatment, compressive residual stress is generated in the pol-ing direction but tensile residual stress in the perpendicular direction to poling direction.

  • SiC fiber reinforced $Si_3N_4$ matrix composites combined with electrical conductive phases of carbon fiber and WC powder fabricated by hot pressing at 1773K. The ability to predict fracture in the ceramic matrix composites was evaluated by measuring simultaneous load-deflection and electrical resistanc difference-deflection curves in four point bending tests. The changes in electrical resistance differences closely corresponded to the fracture behavior of the composites. Different electrical conductive phases are suited to predicting different stages and rates of fracture. These obsevations how that it is possible to perform "in situ" fracture detection in ceramic composites.

  • The synthetic fibers such as polypropylene(PP) and polyvilyl-alcohol(PVA) fiber are poised as a low cost alternative for reinforcement in structural applications. It has been reported that synthetic fiber in cement composites can control restrained tensile stresses and cracks and increase toughness, resistance to impact, corrosion, fatigue and durability. High performance fiber reinforced cementitious composite(HPFRCCs) shows ultra high ductile behavior in the hardened state, because of the fiber bridging properties. Therefore, a variety of experiments have being performed to access the performance of HPFRCCs recently. The research emphasis is on the flexural behavior of HPFRCCs made in synthetic fibers, and how this affects the composite property, and ultimately its strain-hardening performance. Three-point bending tests on HPFECCs are carried out. As the result of the bending tests, HPFRCCs showed high flexural strength and ductility. HPFRCCs made in PVA or Hybrid fiber were, also, superior to PP of singleness. On the other hand, effect of sand volume fraction on HPFRCCs made in PP was insignificant.
