환경문제에서의 재활용 행동 증진을 위한 행동분석적 실험 연구 - 환경적 변화와 프롬트의 효과를 중심으로- (A behavioral approach to increase recycling behavior: An examinination of effect of environmental alteration and prompts)

  • This study examined the effect of environmental alteration and prompts on recycling behavior. An A-B-BC with a control condition design was employed. Subjects in this study were college students, professors, and employees at a university building. After a baseline phase, environmental alteration was I effect in the next phase and both environmental alteration and prompts were in effect in the final phase for the control condition. The environmental alteration consisted of providing four separation containers for the paper cups, cans recyclable paper, and the disposable on each floor in the building. The prompts consisted of providing the information about the importance of environmental preservation and how to separate the materials in the appropriate containers using an information board and pamphlets. The dependent variables were (1) the number of cans collected in can container, (2) the number of paper cups collected in cup container, (3) the rate of correct separation of cans, (4) the rate of correct separation of paper cups, and (5) the weight of disposable. The rates of correct separations of cans and paper cups were obtained by calculating the percentage of thenumber of recyclable cans and paper cups in the corresponding containers. The results indicated that environmental alteration had positive effects on all the dependent variables. Also, when the prompts were added to the environmental alteration, the incremental effect of the prompts was demonstrated. The implications and limitations of theses findings were discussed and the direction of future studies was also proposed.

Cloning and Sequence Analysis of Two Catechol-degrading Gene Clusters from a Phenol-utilizing Bacterium Pseudomonas putida SM25

  • A 6.1 kb Sph I fragment from the genomic DNA of Pseudomonas putida SM 25 was cloned into the veetor pUC19. The open reading frame of catB was found to consist of 1,122 nucleotides. The sequence alignment of the catB gene products from different kinds of bacteria revealed an overall identity ranging from 40 to 98%. The catC gene contained an open reading frame of 96 codons, from which a protein with a molecular mass of about 10.6 kDa was predicted. The amino acids in the proposed activesite region of CatC were found to be almost conserved, including the charged residues. Since the catBC genes in P. putida SM25 were tightly linked, the could be regulated under coordinate transcription, and transcribed from a single promoter located upstream of the catB gene, as in P. putida RBI.

  • This paper presents high performance MEMS passives using fully CMOS compatible, monolithically integrable 3-D RF MEMS processes for RF and microwave applications. The 3-D RF MEMS technology has been developed and investigated as a viable technological option, which can break the limit of the conventional IC technology. We have demonstrated the versatility of the technology by fabricating various 3-D thick-metal microstructures for RF and microwave applications, such as spiral/solenoid inductors, transformers, and transmission lines, with a vertical dimension of up to $100{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$. To the best of our knowledge, we report that we are the first to construct a fully integrated VCO with MEMS inductors, which has achieved a low phase noise of -124 dBc/Hz at 300 kHz offset from a center frequency of 1 GHz.

Development of Gene Based STS Markers in Wheat

  • The objective of this study is to develop the gene based sequence tagged site (STS) markers in wheat. The euchromatin enriched genomic library was constructed and the STS primer sets were designed using gene based DNA sequence. The euchromatin enriched genomic (EEG) DNA library in wheat was constructed using the $Mcr$A and $Mcr$BC system in $DH5{\alpha}$ cell. The 2,166 EEG colonies have been constructed by methylated DNA exclusion. Among the colonies, 606 colonies with the size between 400 and 1200 bp of PCR products were selected for sequencing. In order to develop the gene based STS primers, blast analysis comparing between wheat genetic information and rice genome sequence was employed. The 227 STS primers mainly matched on $Triticum$ $aestivum$ (hexaploid), $Triticum$ $turgidum$ (tetraploid), $Aegilops$ (diploid), and other plants. The polymorphisms were detected in PCR products after digestion with restriction enzymes. The eight STS markers that showed 32 polymorphisms in twelve wheat genotypes were developed using 227 STS primers. The STS primers analysis will be useful for generation of informative molecular markers in wheat. Development of gene based STS marker is to identify the genetic function through cloning of target gene and find the new allele of target trait.

측면 결합 스트립 선로를 이용한 광대역 프린트 다이폴 안테나 (Printed Dipole Antenna Fed by Broadsided Coupled Stripline for Wideband)

  • 본 논문에서는 3.5GHz 대역에 대해 측면 결합 선로(BCS:Broadside Coupled Striplines)에 의해 공급되는 프린트 다이폴 안테나의 설계 제작에 대해 연구하였다. 프린트 다이폴 안테나의 두 Arm(암)은 각각 기판의 양면에 있습니다. 1×2배열 안테나에 적용된 공급 균형 라인은 BCS입니다. 프린트 다이폴 안테나의 여러 파라미터 연구를 하였고, 시뮬레이션 결과는 최종 실험 데이터와 일치하였다. 실험 결과 원하는 주파수 대역에서 가장 넓은 대역폭을 나타내며 VSWR < 2.0:1 대해 28%의 대역폭을 보였다. 기존 프린트 다이폴 안테나의 단점인 협대역과 배열 시 급전선 특성을 개선할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 수평면 방사패턴은 전방향 특성을 보였고 최대 이득은 4.4dBi를 보였다.

진주 장흥리 와요지 유적의 절대편년연구 (The Study of Absolute Dating on Jinju Janghungri Kiln site.)

  • This study carried out to understand thermoluminescence dating of ancient tiles at Jinju Janghungri Kilin site. Also radiocarbon dating by the benzene synthesis method and Liquid scintillation counting method were performed for comparison for the agedetermination of charcoal sample at the obtained same site.1st and 2nd glow curve were obtained according to the typical method thermoluminescence. Plateau tests of revealed the proper temperature range to be $300~440^{\circ}C$ Palaeodose average values were formed to the 2.44Gy.Annual dose of ancient tiles was calculated from soil samples and ancient tiles it self by measuring alpha radiation dose, potassium concentrations and water contents respectively. Annual dose average values were calculated to be 7.012mGy/yr.The radiocarbon age(BP year) was converted to calibrated age(AD/BC year) using high precision curve. Radiocarbon ages were calculated to be AD 15~17 .Comparison of samples with their radiocarbon and thermoluminescence ages for revealed the in range the AD 15~17. This result means that the measured absolute ages are in good agreement with each other within the margin of error.

Biosorption of Hg(II) ions from synthetic wastewater using a novel biocarbon technology

  • Mercury is a toxic pollutants present in different types of industrial effluents and is responsible for environmental pollution. Removal of Hg(II) ions from synthetic wastewater was studied using the activated biocarbon produced from the leaves of Tridax procumbens (Asteraceae). The particle size of the biocarbon (BC) is in the range of $100-120{\mu}m$. The effects of initial metal ion concentration, pH, contact time, and amount of biocarbon on the biosorption process were studied at temperature of $28{\pm}2^{\circ}C$. Batch experimental studies showed that an equilibrium time of 160 min was required for the maximum removal of Hg(II) at the optimized biocarbon dose of 2.5 g per 100 mL of synthetic wastewater. The optimum pH required for maximum removal (96.5%) of Hg(II) ions was found to be 5.5. The biosorption of metal ions onto activated biocarbon surface is probably via an ion exchange mechanism. The biocarbon can be regenerated with minimum loss. Further, it can be reused without any chemical activation. The findings of the research suggested that, the biocarbon produced from cost effective renewable resources can be utilized for the treatment of industrial wastewater.

전통 누룩미생물들로 제조한 개량누룩의 특성 (Characteristics of a Modified Nuruk Made by Inoculation of Traditional Nuruk Microorganisms)

  • In order to improve the quality of nuruk a Korean traditional fermenting agent for brewing nuruk was modified by a new method inoculating Rhizopus japonicus T2 Aspergillus oryzae L2 and hansenula sp. BC26 which had been isolated from traditional Nuruk. And the characteristics of modified Nuruk were investimgated as compared with current fermenting agents such as commercial Nuruk and rice koji of As-pergillus kawachii. The odor of modified Nuruk was savory but those of commercial Nuruk and rice koji were fetid andinodorous repectively. The extracted waters of modified Nuruk commercial Nuruk and rice koji were yellow pale yellow and colorless and showed 6.15, 6.01 and 3.30 of pH respectively. Mod-ified Nuruk had 7.6${\times}$106CFU/g of yeast but commercial uruk and rice koji had no yeast. Commercial Nuruk had 1.0${\times}$102CFU/g of lactic acid bacteria but modified Nuruk and rice koji had no lactic acid bacteria. The amylolytic and proteolytic activities of modified Nuruk were much higher than those of commercial Nuruk or rice koji. Seed mash of modified Nuruk had ester aroma but that of commercial Nuruk rather offensive odor and that of rice koji neither ester aroma or offensive odor. It seemed that if the modified Nuruk is used in seed mashing the supplement of acidulant is need to lower pH. The quality of modified Nuruk was thought to be much better than that of commercial Nuruk or rice koji.

Ka-Band용 MMIC VCO의 설계 및 제작 (Ka-Band MMIC VCO Design and its Fabrication)

  • 소형화, 집적화된 Ka-band용 MMIC VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator)를 설계 및 제작하였다. Clapp-Gouriet형 오실레이션 방식을 이용하여 VCO를 직접 설계 및 제작하였고, 또한 이를 별도로 제작한 Alumina 기판과 함께 Carrier 위에서 조립 후 모듈화하였다. 결과적으로 MMIC로 구성된 Ka-band의 VCO 모듈은 출력 10dBm, Bandwidth 400MHz, phase noise -90dBc/Hz@1MHz까지의 성능을 보이면서 우수한 성능을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

Hyperparameter Tuning Based Machine Learning classifier for Breast Cancer Prediction

  • Currently, the second most devastating form of cancer in people, particularly in women, is Breast Cancer (BC). In the healthcare industry, Machine Learning (ML) is commonly employed in fatal disease prediction. Due to breast cancer's favorable prognosis at an early stage, a model is created to utilize the Dataset on Wisconsin Diagnostic Breast Cancer (WDBC). Conversely, this model's overarching axiom is to compare the effectiveness of five well-known ML classifiers, including Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Naive Bayes (NB) with the conventional method. To counterbalance the effect with conventional methods, the overarching tactic we utilized was hyperparameter tuning utilizing the grid search method, which improved accuracy, secondary precision, third recall, and finally the F1 score. In this study hyperparameter tuning model, the rate of accuracy increased from 94.15% to 98.83% whereas the accuracy of the conventional method increased from 93.56% to 97.08%. According to this investigation, KNN outperformed all other classifiers in terms of accuracy, achieving a score of 98.83%. In conclusion, our study shows that KNN works well with the hyper-tuning method. These analyses show that this study prediction approach is useful in prognosticating women with breast cancer with a viable performance and more accurate findings when compared to the conventional approach.
