  • This paper reviews the core technical trends of TESLA EV Motors. The TESLA EV Motors is explosively popular with a considerable recharging infrastructure, a wide 17-[inch] touch display, 417 [HP], and 378 [km] going distance. The object of this study analyzes the body appearance, motor and, battery cooling system, battery arrangement, battery management system, super charging station, power electronics, and induction motor.

  • A numerical simulation of heat and fluid flow for predicting the effect of passage arrangement in automotive heat battery has been performed. The system is assumed to be a two-dimensional laminar flow and isothermal boundary is applied to the surface of the latent heat storage vessel. In the case of ideal heat battery the flow rate into each flow passage is evenly distributed. The various models are considered in the view of pressure drop and bulk temperature. The effects on the efficiency of the heat battery are examined by varying geometrical factors such as flow passage clearance, length of a inlet and outlet tank and the length of a latent heat storage vessel. The flow clearance is a very important -factor on the efficiency of a heat battery. As the flow passage clearance becomes narrow, the flow distribution becomes uniform and the bulk temperature increases, however the pressure drop is large. Therefore, optimal flow passage clearance has to be chosen. The present work can be used in optimizing heat battery efficiency.

  • In naval gun firing, firing accuracy comes from the combination of each component's accuracy in CFCS (Command and Fire Control System) like tracking sensors and gun. Generally, battery alignment is done to correct the error between gun and tracking sensor by using boresight telescope on harbor and sea. But normally, the battery alignment can compensate only the static alignment error and ignore dynamic alignment error which is caused by own ship movement. There was no research on this dynamic alignment error until now. We propose a new way to analyze dynamic arrangement error by using image of boresight telescope. In case of the dynamic alignment error was due to time delay of own ship attitude information, we propose the way to compensate it.

  • Water splitting is regarded as one of the most environmentally benign routes for hydrogen production. Nevertheless, the low energy efficiency to produce the hydrogen has been a critical bottleneck, which is attributable to the multi-electron and multi-step reactions during water splitting reaction. In this respect, the development of efficient, durable, and inexpensive catalysts that can promote the reaction is indispensable. Extensive searching for new catalysts has been carried out for past decades, identifying several promising catalysts. Recently, researchers have found that conventional battery materials; particularly high-voltage intercalation-based cathode materials, could exhibit remarkable performance in catalyzing the water splitting process. One of the unique capabilities in this class of materials is that the valency state of metals and the atomic arrangement of the structure can be easily tailored, based on simple intercalation chemistry. Moreover, taking advantage of the rich prior knowledge on the intercalation compounds can offer the unexplored path to identify new water splitting catalysts.

공기 유로 형상에 따른 공랭식 전기자동차 배터리 시스템의 냉각 성능 예측 (Predictions of the Cooling Performance on an Air-Cooled EV Battery System According to the Air Flow Passage Shape)

  • 본 논문은 전기자동차 배터리 시스템에 공기를 이용한 직접 냉각 방식을 적용하여, 공기 유로 형상에 따른 냉각 성능을 비교 연구하였다. 이를 위해, 배터리 냉각 시스템에서 모듈의 배치 형상과 발열량을 고정하고, 입 출구 면적 및 외부 Case 형상을 변경하여, 이에 따른 냉각 성능 결과를 수치 해석적으로 비교 분석하였다. 해석 결과는 배터리 내부의 공기 유동 유선(Stream line), 속도장 분포(Velocity field), 온도 분포(Temperature distributions)를 정리하여 제시하였다. 해석 결과, 외기온도 $25^{\circ}C$에서 안정적인 배터리 작동온도인 $50^{\circ}C$ 이하를 만족하기 위해서는 공기의 유입 체적이 $400m^3/h$ 이상이 되어야 함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 출구 부근의 Diffuser 형상을 가지는 해석 조건에서 냉각이 끝난 공기의 배출이 원활히 진행되면서 냉각 성능이 향상되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 태양광 발전시스템의 발전출력은 일사량과 온도에 따라서 크게 변동하고, 태양전지 어레이와 병렬로 연결되는 축전지의 전압에 의해 변동한다. 이 대책으로 지금까지 MPPT 제어(최대출력점 제어)를 해왔는데, 이 제어방식은 손실이 크고 비용이 많이 든다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 PV 시스템 구성요소의 매칭 손실저감을 위하여 PSpice를 이용한 구성요소의 전자 모델링을 행하고, 태양전지 어레이와 축전지 및 인버터 입력전압의 최적 전압구성법에 대한 연구 결과에 대하여 기술하고 있다. 축전지 최적전압은 태양전지 어레이 최적전압의 약 90%정도가 적당하다는 결과를 얻었다.

  • When the ICM is fired in the artillery weapon, it is necessary to determine rounds of munitions for sufficient damage to targets of different sizes and shapes. This paper analyzes all kinds of delivery errors involved in ICM firing, and then develops the target coverage model appropriate for ICM salvos. This model is evaluated through computer simulation. The expected target coverage is measured according to number of salvos, range and probable error, velocity error, battery arrangement, target size, and shell reliability respectively.

360 Wh급 퍼스널 모빌리티용 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Numerical Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of 360 Wh Li-ion Battery Pack for Personal Mobility)

  • 본 논문은 퍼스널 모빌리티에 사용되는 360 Wh급 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 성능 및 안정성 확보를 위하여 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 열전달 특성에 관하여 상용수치해석 프로그램인 ANSYS v17.0의 CFX를 이용하여 수치적으로 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 퍼스널 모빌리티에 사용되는 360 Wh급 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 배터리 셀 배열을 4가지 경우로 변경하고, 배터리 셀 홀더에 사용되는 재질과 배터리 팩 케이스에 사용되는 재질을 각각 Polypropylene, Aluminium, Magnesium alloy로 변경하였다. 그 결과 배터리 평균 온도는 배터리 셀 배열이 Model 2 일 때 가장 낮게 예측되었으며, 배터리 셀 홀더와 배터리 팩 케이스 재질 변경에 따른 배터리 평균 온도는 대부분의 경우 Aluminium 일 때 가장 낮게 예측되었다. 퍼스널 모빌리티에 사용되는 360 Wh급 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 열전달 성능은 배터리 셀 배열과 배터리 팩 케이스 재질에 많은 영향을 받았으며, 배터리 셀 배열 Model 2와 배터리 팩 케이스 재질이 Aluminium 일 때 가장 높았다.

야전포병 무기체계의 속도오차 허용한계 (Acceptable Velocity Errors Tolerance For Field Artillery Weapon System)

  • The artillery fire is characterized by great damage that can be inflicted simultaneously to an area through concentrated firing. The field artillery guns used in R.O.K. Army are generally old. Thus high values of their velocity errors cause wide dispersion of shell landings. Therefore effects of the concentrated firing is lessened. In this paper a general model which considers all error factors involved in firing in general, is established first. Then from this a basic model which includes the errors involved in concentrated firing only, such as the ballistic error, velocity error, target density function, and damage function, is extracted. Among many weapon systems now in use a specific one called gun 'A' is selected and its concentration effects are measured through computer simulation. The results show that as the velocity error of a battery increases, its target coverage capability, i. e. concentration effect, decreases. Therefore the need arises for the field artillery commander to know beforehand characteristics, i.e. velocity errors, of the guns in his unit and also to carefully examine the problem of battery arrangement with the gun characteristics in mind in order to maximize the damage effects of his artillery unit.
