  • This thesis is to discuss and prove the identity of the acts of the library and the character of the library which regards these as its objects. And this study is analyzed in view of per ceptual problems and scientific problems and scientific problems, in order to make clear the character of the acts of the library. In these processes, some basic propositions are extracted. First, culture can be found in arranged order. Second, human being can create culture by the acquisition of accmulated culture. Third, an individual is purposely related with culture. Fourth, culture is antonomous to mankind. And in this thesis, library science is defined as the systematic formation of mankind's pursuing acts, and to identify this definition, some theoretical models of library science have been offered as follows : Model I 1. Theory of making culture assets informative. 2. Theory of making culture assets empirical; that of imformation treatment. 3. Theory of medial acts of librarians. Model II 4. Theory of organic systems of libraries. Model III 5. Theory of guiding school activities. 6. Theory of extending the inhabitants' interests of communities. 7. Theory of a kind of resources in social improvement. Model IV 8. Theory of a means of principal approach to the succession of culture. In conclusion, this study is to prove that acts of libraries are the universal ones of those human being that are gualified to be the unique means to the creation of culture and, library science is a science that shapes concepts and rules to describe, to make explanation and to foretell these acts.

  • Biot's theory and a modified Biot-Attenborough (MBA) model are applied to predict the dependences of acoustic characteristics on frequency and porosity in cancellous bone. The phase velocity and the attenuation coefficient predicted by both theories are compared with previous in vitro experimental measurements in terms of the mixed, the fast, and the slow waves. Biot's theory successfully predicts the dependences of phase velocity on frequency and porosity in cancellous bone, whereas a significant discrepancy is observed between predicted and measured attenuation coefficients. The MBA model is consistent with reported measurements for both dependences of phase velocity and attenuation coefficient on frequency and porosity. Based on the theoretical predictions from the MBA model, it is suggested that the attenuation coefficient of the mixed wave is dominated by the fast wave in the low-porosity region while it is dominated by the slow wave in the high-porosity region. This provides a qualitative explanation for the nonlinear relationship of attenuation of the mixed wave with porosity in cancellous bone.

  • In this study, mathematical expressions based upon the conventional BEMT(blade element momentum theory) was applied to basic 100kW wind turbine blade configuration design. Power coefficient and related flow parameters, such as Prandtl's tip loss coefficient, tangential and axial flow induction factors of the wind turbine were analyzed systematically. X-FOIL was used to acquire lift and drag coefficients of the 2-D airfoils and Viterna-Corrigan formula was used o interpolate he aerodynamic characteristics in post-stall region. Also, aerodynamic characteristics, measured in a wind tunnel to calculate he power coefficient was applied. The comparative results such as axial and tangential flow factors, power coefficients were presented in this study. Power coefficient, calculated by in-house code was compared with the GH-Bladed result. The difference of the aerodynamic characteristics caused the difference of the performance characteristics as variation as TSR.

  • In the history of cinema, Sergei Eisenstein is always considered as a pioneer to conceive of cinema primarily as a form of expressing thought rather than as a representation of reality. For him, montage is the indispensable method to construct an open totality of thought and image in movement. It functions as a basic thread running through two poles of filmic composition, that is, the organic and the pathetic. The organic is concerned with the composition of the film structure as a whole, while the pathetic is involved in an ongoing process of registering a leaping point in various filmic sequences. The ultimate goal of montage for Eisenstein is to create the cinema of ideas which can synthesize both emotional and intellectual elements in the filmic composition. In his system of intellectual cinema, the identity of image and thought externalizes the sensory-motor unity of nature and man along the ascending spiral of centrifugal force of the film. Indeed, in both theory and practice, Eisenstein firmly argues that nature not only provides basic laws for the organic composition of the film, but also expresses itself in the form of the whole which brings out the experience of totality in the film text, the audience, and surely Eisenstein himself.

  • Applicability of control theories to the efficient operation of accounting system is studied in this paper. Since managerial accounting has been developed along the progrees of control theory, management control theories are essential to explain important attributes of diverse accounting system. Basic concept of control is studied in depth and control systems are classified on the base of their special characteristics. And then the applicability of those control methods to accounting systems are discussed based on behavioral as well as management science approach. In the management science approach, accounting control models of production management, inventory management and R&D are designed with its unique quantitative characteristics. It, however, is very difficult to implement quantified control standards on the behavioral management side. Since most of variables considered on behavioral approach are non-quantitative, only discussion of the theoratical definition has been a main issue on previous studies. In this paper, practicability of the behavioral approach to the accounting control system is studied analyzing state variables and behavior variables of the control system. Theoratical base of the discussion are provided from control theories developed in organization theory and Economics. Basic objective of accounting control practice is to control qualitative human behavior represented by quantified figures while quantitative methods are prevailing over general accounting practice. Therefore, this paper tried to develope and integrate accounting control systems applicable to the behavioral management area as well as management science control side.

  • The very definitions of posture and balance have changed, as has our understanding of the underlying neural mechanisms, In rehabilitation science, there awe at least two different conceptual theories to describe the neural control of posture and balance : the reflex/hierarchical theory and system theory. A reflex/hierarchical theory suggests the posture and balance result from hierarchically organized reflex responses triggered by independent sensory systems. The systems approach suggests that action emerges from an interaction of the individual with the task and environment. That is to say, the systems approach implies that the ability to control our body's position in space emerges from a complex interaction of musculoskeletal and neural systems, collectively referred to as the postural control system. The specific organization of postural systems determined both by the functional task and the environment in which it is being performed, The postural control system is divided into three basic functional components for assessment : 1) musculoskeletal components, 2) motor coordination components, and 3) sensory organization components. It is proposed that a systemic functional understanding of human balance is critical to effective programs for balance rehabilitation. Thus, this article briefly reviews the basic functional components to consider in designing treatment plan and for the benefit of the balance assessment.

  • For the students who specialize in interior design irrespective of their color susceptibility, it is prerequisite to precede a systematic curriculum in the first place on how to put the color theory to practical use. Therefore, this curriculum has its purpose to let the students study on how to put to practical use of their understanding of color as one of the finishing materials for interior design. The 16-weekschool days has been segmented into a theoretical study and practical training, This thesis has summed up the basic instance of the color theory, the first of the three basicpractical courses and presented its results to the students. In due course of this curriculum, the students were recommended to pick up one photo image of their selection out of which they could make out color palette based on their analysis of the photo image, so that they could study on how to apply their color palette to a three dimensional space. Firstly, through this course, they could experience the process for a color image that they had so far sensed subjectively and vaguely to become an objective inevitable result. Secondly, they studied on the process of how a two-dimensionalcolor image could be applied for a three-dimensional space. It is significant of this curriculum in the sense that the students become prepared through this study course with essential knowledge applicable to various interior designs in their future.

  • The purposes of this study are to help the authorized textbooks on home economics be selected and used effectively, to provide basic data that are needed to improve the quality of home economics textbooks, and to suggest a next curriculum on home economics. In the study, eight high school home economics textbooks for "6th Curriculum developed by Ministrv of Education and Human Resources Development"were used for the analysis. The results are summarized as follows: there were wide differences in degrees of diversity and accomplishment in the contents of textbooks. In comparison, it was unfolded that three areas, "family", "home resource management" and "consumer" ,occupied much larger portions than other areas. About 81 percent of the authors of home economics textbooks were professors. A contents analysis on the clothing area showed that every textbook includes costume culture, clothing materials, clothing maintenance, and clothing construction. The presentation coverages and relative difficulties of textbooks were, however, diverse. It is somewhat noticeable that, while fewer professors majoring in clothing construction participated in writing, generally more pages were allocated to clothing construction than other areas. While presentations on anthropometrics method, construction theory, draft theory, usage of sewing machine and fitting theory were insufficient most textbooks were dealing with drafting of basic slopers and sewing procedure, etc. Making-up techniques on the apparels items such as Korean traditional men's pants, pajamas, shirt vest skirt, pants, apron and Korean pouch were handled closely in each textbook.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop a motivational interviewing pulmonary rehabilitation program based on self-determination theory to maintain pulmonary rehabilitation-related health behaviors in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The program was developed by reviewing the literature on pulmonary rehabilitation guidelines, drawing on the self-determinism theory to establish its contents, recruiting experts to test its validity, and conducting a preliminary survey. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used to confirm the effect of the program. The participants were outpatients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at three general hospitals in Busan. There were 33 subjects: 15 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group. The experimental group performed a motivational interviewing pulmonary rehabilitation program which comprised 11 sessions delivered over 10 weeks. The outcomes were measured using basic psychological needs, dyspnea, 6-minute walking distance, and functional status. Intervention effects were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA. Results: The analysis revealed significant differences between the experimental and control groups in competence among the subdomains of basic psychological needs, dyspnea during exercise, and functional status. Conclusion: The developed program affects physical conditions and can be applied as an effective clinical nursing intervention to continuously improve the pulmonary rehabilitation behavior of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

  • This article reviews the film acting studies of Kracauer presenting the basic approach of traditional film theory. It is to provide a foundation for film acting theory in order to activate the domestic acting studies. While Kracauer explaines the difference between traditional stage actor and film actor in 'Remarks on the Actor' of Theory of Film(1960), he suggests the characteristics of the cinema acting and its media technical meanings. He emphasizes the acting forms presenting the postwar new realism in his film acting studies. His approach takes the perspective of 'physical reality' or 'camera reality' which is the basic premise of film theory. Kracauer insists the naturalness of the actors, listing the features of professional actors, non-professional actors and Hollywood stars as they are a familiar classification for the types of actors. He does not prefer the Hollywood stars, whether it is fiction or documentary, professional or non-professional actors, but he emphasizes negative acting, the ability to express words by doing nothing, based on indeterminacy or indefiniteness of the film. Kracauer's film acting studies has affected later film theory and media-related acting, and has become the principles of cinema textbook and acting.
